Been going to this salon for 3 years and am surprised at their poor service and unprofessional new management. Very rude how they handle anything and quite aggressive. If you are unsatisfied with the service, it is taken very personally - which is super strange. Good reviews are based on wedding reviews for updo's and preparations, not on colorists or haircuts. Stylists will cancel your appointments you've had for months because they'd rather do a wedding for higher profit. It happened to me multiple times during these years. High turnover rate for stylists, you will never have a consistent stylist because they come and go. Pride themselves as Blonde specialists but this is not true at all. Some are young inexperienced stylists testing out on your hair while charging a lot. I had a stylist literally burn the back of my hair and the owner had to fix it. Prices as well will always be different, you will never pay the same amount every month, even if you have the same service and stick with the same stylist. I've been there several times and do not have an issue with the stylists. However, I called yesterday to cancel an appt scheduled for today as I am aware of their cancellation policy. I spoke to the front desk person who appeared confused as to my appointment time, told me it was scheduled for an earlier time than it was but that she'd cancel it and I could rebook online when I had a better idea of my schedule. Today I get a rude phone call saying I didn't cancel my appt and would be charged. Luckily, I called from my work phone that records all calls so I have the actual recorded conversation. The person was very rude and accusatory toward me saying no one there remembers speaking to me about my cancellation. The employee I spoke to was apparently off today so I was told they were contacting her and would call me back by 6pm. I never got a call back. Waiting to see if my card gets charged at which time I will address accordingly. This is the poorest business practice. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL staff. I definitely will not be returning and warn others about their sneaky way of trying to get money by pretending the cancellation wasn't made. read more

Went over the rec of a friend. Had my hair highlighted with Kendal who did what I thought was a great job, until I got home and noticed that there was little to no brightness or delineation in color. I called the salon and asked to come back for some foils around my face to correct this and was told that she didn't do touch ups, that it would be a new appt at charge. I explained that this was my first time having color there and wanted to tweak what I felt wasn't the right result ans was told that a manager would call me. One week later, after hearing nothing, I called again to explain and ask for a manager and haven't heard anything. I just spent another $100 at a different salon to add highlights that actually "highlight" my hair. A relationship with a colorist is built over time and often requires corrections to attain the look that a client wants. Women spend a lot on color and expect the idea it will come out perfect on the first visit is unrealistic. The lack of service or willingness to help a new client speaks volumes. read more

I have curly hair and asked specifically for a hairstylist with experience in cutting curly hair. I was booked with one of their more expensive stylists, which wasn't a problem since I was willing to pay for someone who knew what they were doing. As soon as she brushed out my hair when it was wet, I knew that this was probably a mistake. Maybe this is her method but brushing out wet curly hair it can alter the natural curl pattern and length. She also didn't ask if that's how I normally detangle my hair. Wide-tooth comb only! The cut is uneven and much shorter than I anticipated because of this. It's not the worst cut and I understand hair grows, so I don't think they deserve less than 3 stars. I am disappointed that I felt my stylist didn't have the background I thought she would have considering I asked specifically for it and paid a premium. Finding a salon and stylist is so hard, but I was super pleased with my experience this week at Strawberry Blonde. Crystal did an awesome job with my balayage and cut. And she didn't take the shears to my jugular when I said I "wanted to chop off my hair, but, you know, keep it long." She was fun to chat with while I was in her chair but managed to stay on track with time. The other stylists were just as friendly and all sported great styles and cuts of their own. Always a good sign!! The salon itself is pretty large. Apparently they expanded somewhat recently. In addition to the numerous stations, shampoo bowls, etc they offer a nice selection of products AND a boutique of accessories and stuff. It's a trendy space without being sterile. Very welcoming and a fun, happy vibe. I checked in on Yelp when I arrived and was surprised with a coupon for a free haircut with my color service!! Confirmed my appointment in response to their text the evening before. Showed up for my 9:30 appointment on time the next day and was told they would let Poston know that I was there. Waited for 20 minutes before I asked the front desk what was going on. They said "would you like me to call her?" I'm assuming they had already tried to call her, but I said "yes, please." They finally got in touch with her at 10 o'clock to which I was told I could re-schedule and she would offer a discount. There was no apology or offer to have me wait for her arrival. She just was not going to come in and made no effort to get my phone number from the salon and text to simply say I'm sorry. I have to pay a babysitter for these appointments. Never had any dealings with this salon ever , and they ask me for my credit card #s and I've never even heard of this business . I first came here for a hair trim with a junior apprentice and had to come back for a re-do. The length taken off was just what I wanted but the layers that she cut into were left very choppy, broken and uneven. There were no frills, beverage or conversation added to this experience. My re-do was much better, even though they tried to charge me at the end when I was told I wouldn't be. I reminded them of this and I was not charged. I came for a third visit for an express keratin treatment after the stylist took ample time describing the process to me over the phone, which was generous. I did arrive to the appointment 10 minutes late, which I apologized for. However, the stylist had accounted for only 45 minutes and booked children's cuts immediately after me. Instead of having another stylist take over or push their session, I was cut off at 45 minutes and left the salon with almost an entire wet head of hair (minus the minute section that received the treatment along my hairline) and I still paid a price that would have included a hair dry with the treatment, even though I suggested this was not fair. This price would be acceptable had I received a blow out, been offered something to drink, received the scalp massage during wash, didn't have to recommend a detangler because she was pulling my hair or been told ahead of time I needed special shampoo after a keratin. The services I received here are mediocre for the price and the atmosphere is appealing, but the customer service leaves much to be desired and I will not be returning. read more

Alli was fantastic!! I'm from out of town and I'm only here for a week for vacation. I wanted to donate my hair, so I checked online for salons and called and made a very last minute appointment - same day and only 3 hours after I called. When I walked in and sat down, we discussed what I wanted to do and whether or not it was feasible. It turned out that in order for me to donate we'd almost have to shave the back of my head. Well, I was committed so I said that was OK with me. I pulled up some pictures on Pinterest, and away we went! It was a dry cut at first to get the donation done and get the general shape ready. Then there was the shampoo and the rest of the cut. It was a great experience and I walked out with a very edgy, short bob that suits me to a T. When I went to settle the check, I was amazed to find that because I donated my hair, the cut was free!!! Can't beat that, so I left a tip and went on my way. Been a few times for balyage and haircuts and haven't been super pleased. One of my haircuts got rescheduled with someone new and they didn't tell me my "regular" wasn't coming that day. I go to pay and apparently I got scheduled with a level 4 costing me almost $80 for a haircut. Needing color? Apparently they charge an extra $20 each time they make a new batch?! Nobody ever told me that!! When you call, ask QUESTIONS! The guy on the phone could have been nicer when addressing these questions. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS KEY! Fair prices, good talent, I went here multiple times but after a bout of mis-scheduling and rude treatment on two occasions, I'll be finding s new salon. They messed up scheduling my appointments two times in a row due to a bridal party and then just over-booking, they then offered to reschedule 3 weeks out..The front desk was very cold and unapologetic about the situations. I asked to leave a message for my actual stylist who never returned my call. The first time I went I was charged high salon prices for a very new stylist that didn't make my hair look good at all. I decided to try it a second time so I asked for a Master Stylist. I made my appointment over a month in advance and I got a phone call the day of cancelling my appt! They then told me any availability I had the upcoming week they would reschedule and I said Wednesday at 1230pm and I was told sorry we can't do that time! They referred me to another salon. Just received one of the best haircuts of my life with Christina! She has this cool, California vibe and really listened to what I was looking for in my haircut. Also, she is super easy to talk to and extremely knowledgeable about the products they carry. I already have a bob and she was able to dust the ends and take the exact amount of weight out using a razor, giving me the most perfect laying haircut. There is movement and volume in places I have not seen in a while! I travel for work into town every month and I can guarantee you, I will be back in her chair. Jessica at Strawberry Blond salon has been styling my hair for almost 2 years. Before their Mt. P shop opened, I drove out to the WA salon. The Mt. P is soooo convenient for me because I can get there after work for a cut/highlights, and it's easy to get to on the weekends. The salon is always super clean, the service is friendly, and very modern. I have seen a variety of clientele in the shop, so it seems like they can really offer something for everyone! There are always current magazines to look at while you wait, and the staff is great about offering complimentary beverages. I came in with extremely brassy hair and Zach turned me into such a beautiful blonde! Not only was the customer service great but Zach went above and beyond to make my hair what I wanted.
