And, I kid you not, they texted me the morning of my appt, again, to tell me they needed to reschedule my appt. After alerting them that this was the second time in a row this had happened, they gave me a cancellation slot for 4pm, which I accepted. At 3:45pm, I get a text that they need to move my appt to 4:30 because they are running behind. I accept. When I'm finally seen at 5pm, Chris is cranky that he's covering someone else's appt and it's clear he wants to go home. When he realizes that I need a color correction, I believe he almost had a tantrum, knowing it was going to be a process. I was prepared for the correction to take more than one visit and asked him to do what he could. He eventually even refuses to do a test strip on my hair to make sure I can move forward with another stylist the following day. Washes my hair and flat out refuses to do anything. And ensures me that someone will be able to do my hair the following day. The scheduler says they are completely booked for the foreseeable future so I just leave. With wet hair, and zero words to describe this experience other than inexcusable. To be fair, the manager did call me the next day to try to clear up the situation by asking for my side of events. But they'd already lost me as a customer at that point. She told me it would take multiple appointments to get my hair where I wanted. I ended up making an appt at Lava Salon with Emma instead who got me EXACTLY where I wanted to be in one appointment lasting 3 hours. I would not recommend Urban Nirvana for anything other than a trim and if you are ok with being treated poorly.

It took me awhile to use the certificate but I finally did last week and I wish I would have done it sooner! Amber was very nice, easy to talk to, accommodating and beyond talented! I went in with damaged hair from a boxed bleach job that left patches of dark hair throughout and over a year of roots. Amber suggested adding some highlights and lowlights in order to blend my roots into the bleached ends and she topped it off by trimming my split ends and styling my hair to perfection. I couldn't be happier! Everyone that has seen me loves the new look as well. The vibe at the shop was cute and laid back. Perfect for Park Circle. This is also due to the fact there wasn't an apology. I was at the salon from approximately 12:40 p.m. until around 8:35 p.m. the other week for a partial (halo) color service, not a full-head color. Unfortunately, the results were not what we discussed. The purple turned out blue/teal, and the black was not carried through the rest of my hair, leaving uneven brown sections and noticeable banding. My hair was also left extremely dry, damaged, and breaking off in clumps. What's crazy is that even Eden acknowledged it was blue. At that point I just wanted out of the salon. Before leaving this review, I tried to resolve my concerns privately. I contacted the salon to get in touch with my stylist, and after not hearing back, I had to find her contact information through Instagram. I reached out to her directly, and although my message was read last Friday, I never received a response or even an apology. Edit: Instead of them responding and taking accountability or communicating, they blocked me on Instagram! I also later discovered I had been filmed in the background of the salon's social media content without being informed beforehand, which made me uncomfortable. My stylist Eden was kind during the appointment, but after spending nearly eight hours in the salon and paying over $500, I expected a much higher quality result and better communication afterward. I now have to pay another salon to color my hair black and begin repairing the damage. I've been embarrassed to be outside with my hair as everyone I've shown has mentioned how bad it looks. I had spent so long getting my hair to a healthy place and now I'm having to go through this. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend paying this amount for these results or even going to Coven, and I will not be returning.

She turns frumpy manes to gold and beyond with a simple gloss and a trim and she can even make your "sparklers" (aka grays) vanish and/or blend. I've never met a hairstylist who didn't just do what they wanted but really listened to their clients (I used to cry in my car after getting my hair done), but Addie is far from the norm. Give her a try and I'm certain your investment won't go to waste. I couldn't have dreamt of such a human in a million years, but I somehow found her and now you have too!
