From volunteers to the Sheriff's Office, they got you in, parked, guided to the entrance, kept safe, and made sure you got back to your vehicle via golf carts. We didn't ride any rides as the older we get, the more fragile we think we are lol. The carnival games? I could probably beat them but I wasn't going to let them take my money for a huge stuffed animal that I really didn't need. What we REALLY came here for was the food. My coworker told us, even drew up a map, about where the best vendors were and we made sure that we hit all of the spots. He said he gets the Pickle Ranch Pizza every single year from the specific vendor over by the foodie garden and loves it so much. Sounds odd, but when I tried it I actually liked it. There was another vendor around and down the corner that also had it but for $2 more. He also let me know about the Sweet Tea and/or Lemonade vendor that adds Tajin so I had to get one of those. Didn't realize that it was a frozen drink which made it even better. The "itinerary" also included the candied nuts from The Almond Tree, Amish Donuts from the famous Peachey's Baking Company ( which had a long line so you know they're good), and Tacos from La Taqueria. All fire. Off "itinerary" were the Lobster Roll (good but pricey), the Deep Fried Cheesecake (meh), the Hot Sauces from the Angry Goat Pepper Company (the Serrano, Cilantro, and Chive sauce is now my #1 favorite sauce), the Lemon Lavender Marinade from Barbara's Kitchen Jams (guy was so nice and I'mma sucker for Lavender. gave us some good recipes as well). For a $3 entry fee, you could just drop by for a couple hours and feel like you got your money's worth. The festival took place at Francis Field on Castillo Drive and it was a beautiful weekend. Upon entering it was quite obvious this wasn't their first time at this rodeo. I'll definitely have to keep my eyes open for next years festivities. Multiple food & beverage tents. A HUGE kids area. Covered seating with stage. And lots of vendors. We made a beeline for the Kouzina and I opted for a scoop of pastitsio (Greek Lasagna) and mousaka. Both baked dishes were delicious and I could eaten another plate. In the adult beverage tent, they offered Metaxa (Greek brandy) & Ouzo. I opted for the lemonada with Metaxa, while my husband got the ouzo. We sucked those babies down so fast and quickly realized it was a good thing we WEREN'T there all day. The Loukoumades (Greek donut holes) were a nice end to our quick sojourn. Parking is available in the garage ($12) next door, or you can find parking on the streets. If you're going to spend all day around 'old city' St. Aug, $12 isn't a bad deal, but we opted to find a free spot in the surrounding neighborhood.

Even though we bought tickets online before the trip, we still had to wait in long lines due to the popularity of the trolley rides. The lines seemed to go fairly quickly but it did take almost an hour on 12/22/24 before we got on this trolley that does the Nights of Lights. Luckily, there are benches for those who cannot stand for very long. They also have yellow step stools and a strong man to help you climb up a couple of feet into the trolley. I was one of them due to knee problems so I am very appreciative to Old Town for the assistance on and off. The ride is so much fun!! The driver was hilarious, told great stories, and we all got to sing Christmas songs along with the loud music! When another trolley approached, we all cheered each other. We all felt like kids again. Christmas Spirit galore!! We saw all the 3 million lights on George street to our hearts content. I think it was like a 45 minute ride! I was ready to go again but it was so cold that we didn't. After the ride, we were treated to complimentary hot apple cider and a small cookie. There is a parking lot to leave your car. I believe it was $15. It was about a block plus to walk. It was a nice, well lit safe place. We would return to do this trolley ride again!

The family that runs it is very friendly, and I always enjoy talking with them. Their kids sometimes come play with my kids too, and it's just the sweetest. There's lots of parking and plenty of space for everyone. We recently went to the tomato and sunflower festival where they had fluffy cows, food trucks, kids games, flower cut and keep, veggie picking, a farmers market, and yummy lemonade, and it really was a great time. He gave a thorough and helpful explanation of how everything would work and encouraged us to ask questions at any point. The experience was very interactive, we were texting back and forth with the hosts throughout the hunt, sending pictures, asking questions, and submitting answers. They were extremely responsive and accommodating. It's clear they are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what they do, which really adds to the experience. The scavenger hunt itself was fun, engaging, and packed with interesting stories, and we loved that it's designed to go at your own pace. We took our time, even stopping for drinks along the way, which made it even more enjoyable. It's a fantastic way to explore the full downtown area, get some steps in, and experience the city in a unique way. We're already looking forward to the future app/online version and would love to see this come to Savannah, GA!

Wonderful theater! I simply can't believe I haven't reviewed the IMAX before now…read more It is a huge theater, yet when you enter the lobby it has a small, welcome feel that is nice. The staff is always super friendly and the popcorn is always fresh! For our first 5 years here, my family and I had an annual pass. Such an amazing deal that was! You could get unlimited documentaries and 50% off newly released movies. Plus, you got coupons for free drinks and popcorn. In addition, each member received one free entry to the World Golf Hall of Fame Museum. And there used to be mini golf available that was unlimited as well. We've seen it change over the short time we've lived here and sadly, they don't get the patronage you'd think. From what I understand, from the start they were supposed to have an off ramp going directly to the area...but that changed and it didn't happen, and inadvertently hurt the area from the start. A lot of folks don't even realize there is an IMAX here or anything else. I suppose for most folks it is rather hidden back in the World Golf area. So sad really. The area has so much potential and the theater was one of the main things that was holding on. But they can't hold on anymore. That said, the time is coming very soon for them to close their doors for good. If you haven't checked out the IMAX and want to...you better hurry up! The theater and museum were going to stay open until December, but are now both closing their doors 1 Sep. Check out their website for showtimes. Yes, yes...there is a ton of parking and it's easy to find and a nice walk from any parking lot in the area. If you aren't familiar with the area, then use your GPS. It is a pretty drive back in here as well. Once you get here, you may be pleasantly surprised...it is very pretty. I'm sad Shell is closing this location, but I get it. I surely hope another theater group picks up where Shell is leaving off and reopens this theater again one day. It will certainly be missed!

Just make sure you get there early to get the best seats. The place fills up fast. Also make sure you buy the tickets online. Couldn't buy the tickets at the theater. Every seat was sold out.
