It wasn't that hot either which was great, coconut cream donut was just delicious and the steak tips omg the sirloin steak tips were soooooooo good. People were nice, friendly and just fun. I haven't been to a fair in a really long time but I'm so glad that I decided to go to this one. I 100% percent agree with other reviewers when they said that this was an organized event. From volunteers to the Sheriff's Office, they got you in, parked, guided to the entrance, kept safe, and made sure you got back to your vehicle via golf carts. We didn't ride any rides as the older we get, the more fragile we think we are lol. The carnival games? I could probably beat them but I wasn't going to let them take my money for a huge stuffed animal that I really didn't need. What we REALLY came here for was the food. My coworker told us, even drew up a map, about where the best vendors were and we made sure that we hit all of the spots. He said he gets the Pickle Ranch Pizza every single year from the specific vendor over by the foodie garden and loves it so much. Sounds odd, but when I tried it I actually liked it. There was another vendor around and down the corner that also had it but for $2 more. He also let me know about the Sweet Tea and/or Lemonade vendor that adds Tajin so I had to get one of those. Didn't realize that it was a frozen drink which made it even better. The "itinerary" also included the candied nuts from The Almond Tree, Amish Donuts from the famous Peachey's Baking Company ( which had a long line so you know they're good), and Tacos from La Taqueria. All fire. Off "itinerary" were the Lobster Roll (good but pricey), the Deep Fried Cheesecake (meh), the Hot Sauces from the Angry Goat Pepper Company (the Serrano, Cilantro, and Chive sauce is now my #1 favorite sauce), the Lemon Lavender Marinade from Barbara's Kitchen Jams (guy was so nice and I'mma sucker for Lavender. gave us some good recipes as well). No animals for us this year, we were beat. Gonna need to come here again. read more

Absolutely a must go event if you are in the Clay County and Jacksonville area! Amazing art, photography, plant and crafts exhibits made by students and student-raised animals from local 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters. If anything, go to support local and check out the talent and dedication of these kids because it ain't easy. The steer and swine shows finish with auctions where the students will be showing and selling the animals that they have raised as they go to market and hope to make a profit or at least break even from the expenses of feeding and preparing their pig or steer. I am always absolutely amazed by the art, crafts, photography and the plethora of creations these kids make! The various plant exhibits and arrangements are just gorgeous and rather impressive! The students who put in the work should definitely be commended. The food, rides, entertainment and shows are pretty cool, too. But in my humble opinion, the main attractions are the local students in agriculture, FFA and 4-H, who participate and make the fair a fun place to go every year by showing what they can raise, create or grow! Show stopping creations like photography, art, quilts, woodworks, plant arrangements, and more! And who doesn't love a baby goat, huge hogs, gorgeous horses, perfect steers, unique breeds of chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, and rabbits? So worth it!!! read more

Great fair this year. I went early on day 2 instead of at the end and it was a great experience. The food was out of this world with donut wars and corn dogs galore the place was spotless clean with vendors at the bathrooms and at all seating areas to keep things wiped. There was lots of security enjoying their time with the people. A fair store for things you might need or forgot or to get a fair tshirt. Wrist bands for kids in case they get lost..just all kinds of preparations so we would feel safe and secure. Bright colors and lights made it even more a wow factor. LOVE going to the fair every year with the family. Free parking, lots of rides, and activities for the family. The weather was a little cold and rainy but we were still able to ride the rides. Pickle Barrel is our favorite for so amazing food! The sirloin tip with the mash potatoes is delicious and their lemonade is sweet and refreshing. Fall in love with Peachey's donuts last year; the donuts are huge, made fresh and have great flavor. read more

Clay County County Fair is to be commend, as always. This was my 3rd visit here. I don't know why I did not write a review sooner. They really have it together. The Officers and volunteers really work very hard to keep things moving. They have shuttles for you to get back and forth from your car and to the front of the fair. Great move. Ernie and I got stuck in traffic, so we did not arrive until 7:10 pm. Vanilla Ice was performing at the fair. We had the best place to sit and stand. It was in the middle of the arena, center. I enjoyed seeing them perform. I am thankful for being able to go. I saw some fellow Yelp friends there last night. I enjoyed seeing all of the neon lights, rides and smelling all of that good food. read more

The Clay County Fair is where it's at in 2021! As one of the first full capacity events to come back in the state of Florida the entire event is a breath of fresh air. The fair has all the traditional fair amusement rides with neon and blinking lights to add to the excitement. Fair food is out in full force. All the traditional fair foods are there (funnel cake, kettle corn, corndogs, Turkey legs) along with interesting new additions (peanut butter bacon dog with sriracha pepper jelly). The real highlight for us has been the concerts though. After along 2020 with no live music it's good to finally get back out there and groove. Clay County Fair has a great set up with plenty of stadium seating that is included with your fair admission as well as closest seats that can be bought at a premium. No matter where you're at there is a large video screen that makes seeing the show easy. If you are looking to finally get out of the house and enjoy some good old fashioned fun, the Clay County Fair is the place to be! read more

I was extremely impressed with my experience. Recommending this to all my friends! -Parking was coordinated well (get there between 45 minutes of open for the least amount of congestion) -hand sanitizer was found throughout -there were good handwashing stations near the animals -there were real bathrooms that were kept pretty clean -tons of music (in some places it may be too much bass for some people) -a fun comedy magic show -a pirate show with acrobatics including -water bottles are $3 or $4 each so bring your own -lots of food vendor (i found homemade twizzlers and they are delicious) -a really cool glass blowing demonstration -tables set up so you could sit to eat -$20 for a band to ride almost all the rides. Lots of fun rides!!! Try the zipper...if you dare... I had a blast!! If it wasn't so far away I would come back again! read more

The Clay County Agricultural Fair is the best fair ever! I had so much fun I'm considering going again before they leave! It did take a little over an hour to get parked but it was worth it and parking is FREE! Getting into the park itself was fast. Lots of fun rides and TONS of food vendors! There was a live music concert with Rodney Atkins and a couple other artists and it was FREE! Some concerts are not free depending on who is performing. The corndogs were soooo good! Definitely the only time I will ever pay $10 for one HaHa! There were so many different foods to choose from. We got candy apples and fried Oreos too! If you've never been (this was my first time also), than you have got to go! This is now going to be an every year thing for me! Until next time.... read more

This was my second year to the fair- I love the shows and all the animals. Everyone there works hard to pull everything together. The volunteer council does a great job filling up the space with vendors and fun things! I especially love the pig racing, the frisbee disc doggies, the animal shows & the art shows! I also highly recommend getting over to the living history area- with all the buildings and just wonderful people stepping back in time! Woodworking, leatherwork, cooking on the wood burning stoves, the gardens- everything is wonderful! I giggle every time I see the duck slide! I will say that this year- the fair food was awful. We had Butt Fries (pulled pork, cheese, sour cream over fries) at Hog Wild BBQ and they were terrible. Fries were way over-cooked and/or sitting there forever and the pork was too salty. $13 for inedible food. We also got milkshakes- and the place used vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup instead of using chocolate ice cream (which they had with their soft serve machine)- it simply wasn't chocolate enough. And the Amish glazed doughnuts were so yeast filled it hurt our stomachs! These were only a few places out of the dozens of options- and we had a bad food night. I flat out don't recommend the BBQ- which is a shame because last year it was so good! read more

3/7/2021 This area is well laid out for BIG event like the yearly Agricultural Fair and apparently the Strawberry Fest! (Scottish Highlands games, etc.) I believe it was more crowded then any event I've been so far! It could take 1.5 hours to get inside with the line on Hwy, to park and line to pay to get in! Now admittedly they had advertised in Mint magazine, newspaper, Facebook and on the radio. The1st day 3/6 it was rainy and cold! Today was sunny and little windy; yes Plant City had truck loads of big red strawberries-a flat was $17 and one lady inside a bld had chocolate covered strawberries who sold out quickly! They had a kids section which was packed, they had traditional bouncy houses, pony rides, mechanic bull, paint rocks and such. The vendors are the same as the agricultural fair and the food too. People must have been really missing their fair foods because the lines never let up the whole time we were there! This event was family friendly and great for people watching. We did get some strawberries and they were delicious! read more

What a great time. So organized from parking to guest services and everything in between. They had hand sanitizing stations everywhere as well as after each ride. Although masks were not enforced, they still had spacing in place on some of the rides. There's so much to do and see that we didn't get to see any of the side attractions we were so excited to see Vanilla Ice. We feel there's so much to do and see this year. Fifty bucks for two cheesestake sandwiches taste like goat meat and two lemonade drinks made out of pond water. Ill never go back there.

The first thing to do if they need to fix the yelp information. All hours are wrong. The Fair Was great. Best place to have fun and go out with family and friendly. A lot of food every where. Plenty of game for all kids. I know they tried to keep control and regulation in the place but I suggest that at least late at night some restrictions area can sale at least a beer for adults ( over 21) But I highly recommend this event to everybody read more

I took my kids to the fair this past weekend! It was nice. A good local fair. It reminded me of the one back home or the Florida state fair. I can't wait to come back next year. A good thing about this location is they have vending machines everywhere to get a quick drink I recommend using them to save a few dollars. Lol then you can spend your money elsewhere.. like on playing a game or get the 6$ candy apple. I love how the parking here is free. We got picked up by a golf cart so we didn't have to walk. It was our first time so that was nice. We had no idea where we were going. Got here when it opened and left around 4ish. Around this time all the teens showed up and the lines for the rides had gotten longer. I have younger kids so I'm glad we came early!! One tip... don't forget sun screen. read more

I've stopped going to the Jacksonville Fair for years and we come here every year. We always come on the first night because it is $2 admission and $12 for the wristbands. We have always had a good time. Far less crowds and long lines. Plus the weather is always perfect because it happens in the Spring. Plus we come a little later in the day so the sun isn't baking us to death. So many options for fair foods but it can certainly add up. Yet, we save $6 each at the gate so we have a little more money to spend on food. Every year we have funnel cakes, corn dogs and lemonade. I love the cheese curds and my hubs has the polish sausage. Yet there are lots to choose from. Lots of restrooms (not port-a potties) with attendants so they keep them clean. Handwashing stations scattered thoughout as well. A few vendors change up every year so you find something new. This year we spotted a pizza on a stick place that offered scorpions or crickets as a topping... No, I did not partake. Also a Grilled Cheese vendor with all types of Grilled Cheese options. Again, we always have a good time here. It's a long drive if you are coming from Jax, but it is worth it. read more

Just when you think it can't get any better each year they strive to improve and add something new to keep it fresh.My favorite part is early Florida. It is amazing to step back in time and look back at history in action. The live music and country cooking are just a few of the reasons you don't want to miss this event. Now let's talk food! There is something for everyone. From steak tips to funnel cakes to turkey legs to cotton candy to bar b q to seafood & sausage dogs. You will not leave hungry that's for sure. One of the very best parts of the fair has to be the 4H livestock auction & dinner. If you have not participated with the livestock auction you should check into it. In addition to helping a great organization you also get one of the most incredible meals you will have anywhere. Parking is TERRIBLE. There's gotta be a better way than walking a half mile thru mud. There were literally hundreds of open spaces but the cop interns (high school kids) in Explorer uniforms just kept herding cars to the back. Won't be back. read more
