I cannot visit Columbia, without stopping by and buying several items to take home. This delightful little shop is located in the heart of downtown, on Broadway. It offers practical and unique gadgets. Aprons that make a baker look like a fashionista. They also offer, professional chef quality knives. Also, with the upcoming holidays, you can find table settings, serving pieces, that will make your table an elegant showpiece. The ladies who staff the store, are a delight. They are always excited to assist you and really love it when you share stories of your purchases. My most recent purchase, a large tea towel called, Bartenders Guide, is going to be framed. When I told the owner what I going to do, she asked me to send her a pic when it was completed. She was almost as excited as I was to find this towel and to do something creative with it. If you like to entertain, you gotta shop at Tallulahs. I guarantee you will not be able to walk out empty handed.

They also let you go into their pumpkin patch and cut pumpkins off the vine yourself. If you have kids, they also offer a petting zoo with baby pigs, baby chickens, goats, etc., and they have hayrides, face painting, and other family friendly stands. The staff is the family that owns the farm. Everyone is really friendly and helpful, and the prices are good, especially considering how much you'd pay for these kinds of pumpkins in a major city. Overall, great place and well worth the drive.

We were extremely disappointed at how little there was to do for people without kids and like no fun food or drinks. We paid $7 each just to enter and park essentially and we were in and out in like 10 min. And it's cash or check only at the door thankfully we had a checkbook in the car. We now live down the street and so glad we didn't drive hours to get here. It would be great for like 1-5 year olds who don't need a lot to entertain them. The animals are cute but with no where to wash your hands, that I saw, I didn't want to feed them. Also, I own a business so I'm all about supporting small businesses but $20+ for one pumpkin!!!! Yikes. Add that with $7 a head for admission and a family of 5 would easily spend $100. It wasn't bad it just wasn't for us but I hope other people with different expectations will enjoy and support them..

Between my friend and I, we did drop several dollars and are looking forward to returning. Because I have an affinity for Asian art, I purchased some origami crane earrings and an origami greeting card. I also found an adorable hand-carved mouse that fit perfectly with an inside joke in my circle. The staff was super helpful and they provided "artist's cards" with each purchase. The card gave info on the artist and really help connect your purchase to the inspiration behind it. I loved that idea!! Every time I visit Columbia, BLUESTEM will be on my list of MUST DO's. Legally they need a form 149, which I also had. They wanted a copy of the actual Missouri tax license which is not required and frankly none of their business. I also noticed that there were a lot of empty booths that weren't empty a few weeks prior, guess their vendors don't like their policies either... To the guy selling a Stanley Bailey 5 1/2, if you want to sell it without the mall making up laws to block your sale, hit me up.
