Eufaula Cove Marina - 22 ft rental boat!!!

    Eufaula Cove Marina

I wouldn't rate this place with something negative to the point of ridiculousness but we just…read morerented from there and had an ok to below average experience. The boats look nice enough but the one we ended up with was lacking some of the basic things I believe pontoons are supposed to have like fire extinguishers and flares. If they were there, we could not find them. We also couldn't find an anchor which made stopping for a quick swim or some fishing a little more challenging. The biggest issues we had were that a lot of the features on the boat console were unclear due to wear and tear on the buttons. Also, the ladder was likely missing a rung and it made it difficult for several of our riders to climb back into the boat. Again not a terrible boat nor a terrible staff. They were very friendly. I just wish that some of the little things were better.

This was our second time to lake eufaula. This time we decided to rent a boat and we were led to…read moreeufaula marina. The marina was clean and staff was friendly and attentive. We rented the 22 ft pontoon boat for 4 hours for a family outing. The day was absolutely amazing and the lake was in perfect condition. You will meet the nicest people in Oklahoma and this trip was no different. We will be back to eufaula again and most likely back to the marina. I only wish the restaurant next door was open because I would have loved a beer by the lake. Wish my friends Aaron a and nick l could have seen it rather than being at work.

Customer Experience with Pelican Point Marina - Cautionary Account…read more In March, we brought our pontoon to Pelican Point Marina in Wagoner, Oklahoma, for routine summer preparation. The boat had run perfectly the previous season, was properly winterized, and required only minor maintenance--a new trailer guide and a few small fixes. Shortly after drop-off, we were informed that one of the pistons needed to be rebored. Although this seemed unusual given how well it had run, we deferred to their expertise and agreed to a full engine rebuild. We were assured the job would be completed within 2-3 weeks. By the end of June--three months later--we still did not have a functioning boat. We were told the machine work had been completed in April, yet progress stalled, and we received a different excuse each week. Eventually, we were told the motor was now "running terribly." When we picked it up, we were told it had been worked on "every day," directly contradicting what we had been told during previous phone calls. At this point, we chose to move on. We now believe there was likely never a significant issue with the engine to begin with. We've spent $2,500 and were left with a non-operational motor--despite the fact that it ran flawlessly last season. Pelican Point also told us that their mechanic was the most experienced in the area and that no other shop would service our 1994 Mercury motor due to its age. This was untrue--multiple other repair shops we contacted had no issue taking on the job. We ultimately took the boat to another reputable marine repair facility, where it was repaired and running within a week. They found that the primary issues stemmed from improperly set up or incorrectly rebuilt fuel system components, as well as problems with the control box. Specifically: * The fuel pump was not functioning correctly during test starts. * Connections to the fuel enrichener needed correction. So * The fuel pump was rebuilt, and stripped hardware was replaced. * The carburetor was cleaned, and a broken cam in the control box was replaced. * A full link and sync was performed in the test tank to finalize repairs. The new shop was efficient, transparent, and professional--everything we expected from Pelican Point but did not receive. When we shared our dissatisfaction with the owner's wife at Pelican Point, we were told, in essence, that they did not care. If that's truly the case, then they should have no issue with us sharing our experience publicly. We are not alone--many other boat owners have reported similar issues. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we cannot recommend Pelican Point Marina for marine repairs or service

I don't recommend this marina! If you are renting a boat or a jet ski this review is for you!…read more We made reservations over the phone the day before our arrival for a jet ski and pontoon boat and paid what was required. We arrived early to sign papers and pay the difference, the charge seemed very high including two additional deposits but we were assured it will all get refunded. We waited for over an hour to get our jet ski and boat and since it was at the end of the day we were assured that we won't get charged for the missed hour, we were never offered the option to keep the boat pass our initial time to make up for the delay. When we returned the boat and jet ski, they showed us a picture of the jet ski and said we added two more "scratches" and that's considered damage. The jet sky was full of scratches, obvious wear and tear so we didn't think to take pictures of it. After I argued about the jet ski "damage" the guy said he'll only charge us $50 from our deposit. His attitude was off putting, zero customer service, he took no accountability for being late, stating he gave us a better boat so the hour we lost was made up by that. Without making this into a novel, they never reimbursed us the hour they were late and a 3 hour boat + jet ski ended up costing close to $1300 after reimbursement of the initial deposit! Luckily we looked at the credit card early the next day and we went down to get this sorted. We had to wait for the manager to dissect the playback of the whole thing and she came to the conclusion that we were overcharged $521. The whole time she acted that we were interfering with her "being in the middle of a deal" at the end of it all, NO APOLOGIES! We literally had to chase them to get our money back on what was supposed to be a vacation and nobody showed any kind of good customer service! There was a gentleman behind us who hadn't received his deposit so clearly they do this a lot! Mistakes happen but how they handled everything it made us feel that they are running a scam or are extremely incompetent, either way it's bad business!

We are budget-minded and from the Pettit Bay Cabins & Grocery website, lack of negative (or really ANY) reviews, and the pleasantness of the owner when we called we booked a 2 bed room and were thrilled with the supposed convenience, friendliness, savings, and everything! that was - until we got there. Upon arrival we went to the grocery store to check in as advised, paid and got our keys. The woman who checked us in was nice if somewhat vacant but she directed us to our cabin and off we went. We were not expecting the Ritz - not even a Motel 6 but what greeted us was a grimy hybrid of Deliverance meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The screened in porch was filthy - as was the room. The beds sagged in the middle and were obviously old - covered in musty mismatched spreads. The windows were grimy - the kitchenette was dusty, rusty, and had spiderwebs, the air-conditioning worked well but the mildew smell caused my friend to have an immediate asthma attack. We couldn't get back in our car fast enough. When we returned our keys an apology and a full refund was promptly given however we were 3+ hours from home with no where to stay. Luckily the Fin & Feather Resort had had a last minute cancellation and that's where we wound up. Pettit Bay might be right up your alley if seriously roughing it is your cup of tea - but in my opinion it's several steps below sleeping in a tent w/ no running water close by. AVOID!
