A few bites of the halibut tasted a bit off and it was a flat piece of fish that looked like a giant hash brown. Not really a fan. The chips were pretty good but some were hot and crispy and others cold? Tartar sauce was in a squeeze bottle ..booo. Coleslaw was nice with a bit of lemon. Probably wouldn't come back when Cockney kings and Pajos exist. Service was fine,

You know the feeling of greasy aftertastes when you consume deep fried food from McDees to KFCs to any even diners, the inflammatory hotness, the inflammation in the roof of the mouth and tongue? Swollen gums? This is usually caused by poor quality ingredients or re-using of rancid oil for deep frying. Result is discomfort and or general unwellness. The reason I bring this up is, after eating at Austin's, I have zero negative aftertastes and zero signs of inflammation. For lunch I ordered the 3 piece wild cod fish and chips. The chips is nothing fancy. In fact slightly over cooked. Some on Yelp says chips is frozen-could well be?!? But the fish....the wild cod... is fantastico. Thinly battered flakey firm fish. Zero unpleasantness, zero inflammation. Which is awesome. The quality really stands out. We'll definitely come back and try the DEEP FRIED CHOCOLATE BAR!!! Yeah how crazy is that?

Back plate is with fries, Front plate is with coleslaw only (for low-carb dieter). The batter was thin and the fish was flaky (fresh).

Over rated food with the last event serving a shitty chewy steak not consumable with a chef coming out to take a bow to the crowd clapping . Get it right for change and real compliments will come . Any protein served so far has been around 3 oz and portions of other pairings are very small . One time they served an under cooked half quail smaller than a pigeon none of us ate . Not going again . The beer is ok.

I was captivated by the sights of the river from the inside of the restaurant, and thought it looked great during the winter. The interior of the bar & grill looked modern but also high-toned in design. I ordered the Cajun Pasta with the Pineapple Ginger Punch virgin cocktail for dinner. When I ordered the drink, the bartender told me that they had no pineapple juice, but used orange juice instead, which I thought made a better substitute. The ginger punch had a strong ginger-taste to it while still maintaining a solid good flavour. The pasta dish was exquisite. The rose sauce had a good zesty flavour that was not at any point overly spicy. The chicken and sun-dried tomatoes were great in it and went exceptionally good with the sauce. I also enjoyed the focaccia bread that came with the entrée. The bartender and servers were very serviceable and did not find myself waiting too long for anything. I had a great first experience at the Kingfisher Bar & Grill and would recommend this restaurant for any meal of the day.

We had a blast as the big restaurant with all its amenities was all ours. 1. The seating is huge with two floors. Lounges , dinning tables and what not. 2. Second it has live dj and the pub is open late on weekends for dj parties 3. Food and service is excellent. We not only enjoyed the food but played a good match of table tennis. There is a big section dedicated to games as well. I am setting this place as my go to and for sure one of my events will take place here.

Oak is part of the JRG fam, which i find hit or miss. I'm a big fan of Livelyhood in port moody (i think they have a great chef cuz the food is usually pretty good). I went to celebrate my nephews 8th birthday there (he said his reasoning was cuz they had good breakfast, and he could watch the hockey game). It was during happy hour so there are some cheaper options. I decided to get 1 corn dog ($4), and the pretzel ($6). When they server came with the food she was like "they accidentally made you 3 corn dog". well hey i'm not complaining! The pretzel arrived and looked ROUGH. i could tell it was going to be awful, i had a few bites and was not having it, it was dry, no salt or seasoning and the dip only worked for the corn dogs. I really enjoyed the corn dogs, they were fresh and tasty! I ended up letting the server know i was not happy with the pretzel and that it was dry and very bland. I usually have decent experiences here, the service is good, nice layout and the food is decent, but this pretzel was rough. She was really nice about my feedback and when my bill came, it was only $4. Thankfully she had taken the pretzel off my bill and was super super nice about it. Shoutout to Breanne! Maybe it's time to switch up the pretzel recipe but all in all, oak is a decent place if you're looking for pub food in langley. I prefer it over townhall for some reason.
