Although I appreciate the original staff, I will say some of the new staff members do have the same energy and positive attitudes as the original. Although I will most likely come back for future businesses, I will 100% be looking inside who is working first. I'd like to keep a positive vibe when buying, so I'd prefer having great service from those I know have positive energy and mindset. This is a high-end initiative #71 operation, and one of the few that actually has a walk-in shop (most DC-licensed initiative #71 dispensary services are delivery only, even pre-covid). When DC becomes fully legal with no caveats to the law whatsoever, this place is going to have to pivot the way they do business. But for now, there is no other non-medical dispensary in DC that consistently has such high-quality strains and top-shelf presentation. The weed game for many sellers in DC is to buy a few strains, go on 420dc.com, and claim you have a bunch of strains for sale .... that of course, you don't actually have. Sure, the product might be potent enough (most of the time), but you're not buying the actual menu item that you think you are. You are buying what some dude in a car decided to give you. When buying from SLS on the other hand, the product experience matches the descriptions on Leafly. They get top-shelf products from the best growers and that is immediately clear just by looking at their selections. It is what they say it is. But yikes, you will PAY for it. True, high prices keep the riff-raff out and the quality in. There's something to be said for that. But dropping a half gram off a standard weight that we've come to expect is just irritating. It's like they're trying to do the whole "It's $9.95, not ten dollars" marketing ploy, except with the weight of the product instead of the price. I absolutely HATE feeling like I've been nickel and dimed by a company - as if I wouldn't notice. As if regular marijuana users wouldn't notice. I think about this every time I go there, and it pisses me off every time. I've decided to take my business elsewhere many times for this one reason alone. Examples: The $50 entry-level gift gets you a 3g jar, and it goes all the way up to $90, for a half-gram less than a full eighth. There are medical dispensaries all over town that have the exact same quality product for roughly a third less. A strain that recently arrived at a nearby medical dispensary went for $60 per eighth. Street Lawyer had the identical strain, same grow batch, $75 for a 3-gram jar. There was ZERO difference in the product, literally the same harvest from the same grower. I mean...I like the service, I like the friendly girls, I like the assurance of knowing that this is a legit, above-board operation. But I don't make money hand over fist, and I don't like to know that I'm paying extra for a product just because the seller can get away with it. In summary: I've always been very pleased with the quality of the products, which are regularly cycled through. You can expect a regular variety of flowers, always good stuff at SLS. If they made the prices a little less intimidating (and added some concentrates like butter and kief as well) they'd get more of my business. read more

Quick spot to get regular, nothing more. Prices are high and my purchase has enough seeds in it to start a garden. I rolled one joint and found 14 seeds. Employees were friendly. I'll accept the high prices ($150 for 6gm) because it is what it is, but finding over a dozen seeds when rolling one joint is unacceptable and disappointing. I haven't bought a bag of weed in over ten years that had seeds. Edit: went back and bought the same strain, no seeds, very tasty, and the employees were very friendly as always. She acted as if I was bothering her I showed her my free gift order and she stated that I couldn't get it but yet street lawyer sent it to my phone as a gift (smh). Fucking ripoff. Don't waste your time or money. Extremely disappointed. I don't smoke or eat edibles on a regular basis. I smoked this year in August and before that it had been two years or longer. The last time I had an edible was almost three years ago. I do prefer edibles but they're so hard to come by. I decided to make the 2+ hour drive to DC because I wanted edibles. I should have known better. That toke from august of this year was with a friend who had weed from this place. I did not get high. My friends convinced me I just didn't do it right, fair enough they smoke regularly I do not. I bought a bag of gummies- Apple rings to be exact. They claim that the bag is 500mg and there was 12 rings in there. That means each ring is roughly 4g. It's been almost two hours after eating one ring and I feel nothing. My mouth tastes like weed, which is weird because it hadn't happened in the past. Although I don't smoke, I do know that this isn't right. I'm originally from California. The stuff they have is very nice, at times even top shelf or boutique style weed. However there prices are rather disgusting and they only sell 3 grams as opposed to the industry standard of 3.5. So to get the best stuff will cost 90$ and you are deprived of .5 grams. The customer service lacks, the environment is a little aggressive and unwelcoming. They could do better. I really just can't be happy after coming here. I don't like leaving bad reviews when they were nice to me but I feel completely cheated. I paid $90 for these tiny buds and shake. I'm not someone looking to get high, I need this to get through trauma and bodily ailments I've had because of stress and just function hopefully like a normal person. I don't have $90 to toss away for such a low amount. I just cannot return or recommend after spending that much for so little. If money isn't an issue for you and you're looking for only recreational use, the staff is nice and security is good. If you're in need of medical use with your own funds and are struggling, there are places nearby with more for less and the same quality. The 5 star reviews are fake. Clearly they run a special or offer where you leave a 5 star review and get a free pre roll or something like that. They do it on WheresWeed most of the time and just like the dispensary on New Jersey Ave NW. I don't buy from places like this anymore because it seems like they ALL have the same weed that LITERALLY has no effect.
