StreetSide 5 stars for a large, impressive show room in a massive building. Its a fun place to walk about and see all the automotive eye candy. 5 stars for a vast section of collectable vehicles of all genres. 4 stars for promoting a vehicle. They wash and shine the car then shoot numerous glamour shots for optimal presentation. Then they really sell it with a thorough, well-written essay for the website. They almost over-embellish, but the only thing they misrepresented was the cruise control; I told them it had never worked. 4 stars for getting you top dollar for your vehicle, because 4 is 80% of 5, which is what I got. They sold my car for $50k, and I got $40k, which was the agreed amount in writing. Doubt I could have sold the car myself for much more through classified adds or eBay or such. If I had, there would have been all of the phone calls and electronic chat and the showings and the no-shows that would waste Saturday mornings. There would have also been the haggling, plus the risk of dealing with unscrupulous characters. StreetSide is a service of convenience that spares both seller and buyer those frustrations. 1 star for customer service. The place is blingy and in a nice area, as opposed to some seedy little lot along Florida Avenue, but at the end of the day they are still just used car salesman. The enthusiastic cordialness tapers off fast once you sign the legally binding contract; no changing your mind after that if you walk away and get a pang of seller's remorse. My car had excellent curb appeal and sold in less than two weeks. In my last paragraph, you'll note the business made an easy $10k profit with only a few hours invested. Don't think new car dealers make that kind of profit off a single sale. When I went back to sign the title and get my check, they kind of gave me a disingenuous, monotone "Thank you for your business" without even looking up from the monitor. Worse, Beth in the title signing cubicle lost the second set of keys I brought in; the buyer did not receive them. When he phoned, they blew him off; they did the same to me. I called Ryan, our salesman, who said he'd search for them and call back whether he found them or not, but he never did. The keys are simple to duplicate, but the key FOB will be a major hassle for the buyer to replace. 5 stars for protecting your privacy, or, in my case, sharing the info with the buyer if you request it. A resto-mod is a one-of-a-kind car, so notes, paperwork and receipts are important. I insisted the next owner receive it all, and he did, minus the set of keys. They will also let you pass along spare parts, so long as they fit inside the car. read more

The show room here is huge. If you're looking for a classic car, I'm sure you can find it here or through their network of showrooms from other states. I came here with my dad for his birthday, because he loves classic cars (who doesn't, right). So it was a nice way to get some steps in while enjoying the beauty of these cars. The staff were friendly and told us we could go into the showroom at out leisure. There was a little refrigerator with cold water to enjoy which made it all the easier to spend time in there. Looking at the cars certainly brought back memories for dad which was special to see. There was a 1964 Ford Thunderbird which was the same car his mom had when was younger. The prices on some of the cars were outrageous, while others were very reasonable. We will keep visiting though until we can hopefully find my dad a Studebaker Silver Hawk, one that needs restoring so we can make it just the way my dad wants. read more

I thought this would be a dream come true...I was struggling to sell my vintage 1962 AMC Rambler Wagon on my own for over a month...to this end I decided to reach out to Streetside to assist in selling my vintage auto. The consignment agent Ryan Kavanagh asked that I send photos of my automobile to him. I sent 10 separate images of my auto to Ryan from every angle except from the bottom up (including the interior). Ryan contacted me back and stated he would be able to net me $9000-$11000 for my car. I was 100% on board with this, and he assured me that all he needed to do was take a closer look at the car to let me know the solid figure. This is where the story gets interesting. I asked several times if there was any possibility of the car not getting what he said...he assured me it should fall in those ranges depending on the quality. I decided to line up a tow company to carry my car to Tampa for said review. When my car arrived at Streetside Ryan decided to not accept my auto as he said it had extensive damage and it was in bad shape. He refused to accept the shipment from the tow company (beyond anything I ever expected to happen)!!! At this point I not only will not have a pain free sale of my vintage car, but I also have to arrange and PAY to ship my car back to myself!!! Talk about adding insult to injury! I am extremely put out by this experience as there was no offer to cover any of the expenses for said shipments to or from Tampa back to my residence. There was no actual responsibility taken by Ryan other than to say he was sorry and he understood how frustrated I would be at the experience. I just wanted to make sure anybody who reads reviews check this before they decide to ship their auto to Ryan on consignment at Streetside Classics! Any number of questions could have avoided the scenario and outlay of cash I experienced due to Ryan's negligence in vetting potential consignments. Made a deal over the phone with Ozzie on a 72 nova as I am in California and the car was in Florida. So I talked to him he went over everything it had. Said ran good might just need a little adjustment of the idling no big deal but starts and runs good. So we close the deal I order the shipper to pick up the car and bring it to me in California. Car supposedly drove into the trailer when the shipper picked it up. Then I get an email a couple hours later requesting more money from the shipper due to the car not starting after he took it out to load another car. So I call Ozzie and talked to him. He just said oh yeah that's weird we drove it in. Maybe try starter fluid yeah I'm not sure. The shipper then had to winch the car back in the trailer. Once it arrived to me we had to push it out and sure enough it would not start. It took me about 45 minutes and 2 cans of started fluid to get the car to finally start enough to move it into my garage. Turned it off and tried to restart and nothing. Call Ozzie again and not sure if he was just playing dumb or what. But there is no way this car started and ran fine when they had possession of it. I feel like I was very miss led on the drivability of this car. I spent a decent amount to only receive the car and now have to immediately have it repaired. All he could say is wow that is weird it ran when we had it not sure what to tell you. Guess they didn't care much about the situation once they had received my money! read more

Complete frame off restored car was far from it. Brakes failed coming off the delivery trailer due to poor workmanship. Clutch failed due to incorrect assembly. Missing parts, worn out bushings. A 2 minute drive by the dealer would've shown this car to be a death trap. Pitiful car with service to match. 5 months and it hasn't been able to complete 5 miles. read more

I recently bought a 2001 Corvette from Streetside classic cars. I was assured by the salesperson Dave Pfister this was a great car with absolutely no issues. Prior to me buying the car , he was going help me find shippers to get my car to me. "Around $900 he told me. After having the car for 2 days, what appeared to be 3 oil stains on my driveway, turned out to be a defective steering rack which GM no longer makes and after market ones are a disaster, wearing out or leaking within a year. Also suddenly after purchasing the car he couldn't locate any shippers. Florida was "cracking down" on non-licensed drivers and suddenly the price was around $1500. I notified Dave Pfister last Wednesday or Thursday explaining my situation and he assured me again (after I wrote a less than complimentary review) that the dealership could probably go half with me on repairs of the steering rack. Well, looks like that's gone by the wayside. Dave saying "we could maybe assist with a new gasket pending review of pictures". This is the same "man" who describes himself as an ex-Navy veteran who understands his fellow vet (I'm Air Force) and will go great lengths to do whatever possible to remedy the situation even if it means splitting the difference on the steering rack repair. Oh yeah, the right rear tie rod needs replacement also. I'm a big boy, I understand the limits of buying a car on the internet, but there's a part of me that wants to believe that his fellow man doesn't lie or mislead. Car heaven! Open to the public. Great free entertainment for kids that like cars. Prices seemed reasonable on the cars.

Prepared to be blown away by the size of this place, the enthusiasm of the owner and staff, the quality and amount of inventory, and the ease of listing, selling, and/or buying of a vehicle here at Streetside classics. A 40,000 square foot, well lit and maintained showroom shows off well over a 100 classic hot rods, muscle cars, trucks and import cars. My beautiful wife and I had the pleasure of speaking at length with both the owner, Donna, and a great sales associate Dave Pfister who has been selling classic automobiles for decades in the Tampa area. Both are very passionate about what they do and are highly professional. This company has 5 locations nationwide with more locations to come. I would feel very comfortable investing in a car with this location and its staff. Streetside Classics had a great grand opening car show today with well over 200+ cars showing up for the event today and it was well organized and a class act. Food trucks, raffles, giveaways, Toys For Tots, It was a great time had by all. No high pressure sales here and the staff is very knowledgeable of its cars. Buyer beware! I guess we have all met a used car salesman before. Some will tell you anything to get the deal. When and if you deal with Streetside classics, which, I don't recommend ; don't take anything they say as fact. Please get everything in writing so they can't lie their way out of anything they tell you. I walked away from a deal due to no brakes on the car. This was discovered before I signed a contract. I was promised a complete brake job since the car was old and the "silver tongue,, used car salesman said it would safer if he replaced the brake system. Based on that, I agreed to go along with the sale.Much too much more to tell. Let I suffice to say that they do not even deserve a single star!!!They got the owner to take off a substantial amount of money for the brake job. I ended up paying the original asking price because of the promise of a new brake job; I got screwed. No new brake job! End result, the brakes failed again a few days ago and I narrowly avoided a serious accident. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!! read more

I recently purchased a 1967 Chevelle from these guys. I was purchasing from out of state so i spoke with a salesman at length about the car. He assured me the car was straight and had absolutely no rust, which he said would have been noticed on the call out list if it had been present. I was financing the car and my lender required an appraisal so the salesman recommended one that they frequently utilize. Not surprisingly, the appraisal came back favorably and I was able to get financing from my lender. I flew from CA to Tampa, purchased the car, and drove it home to TX. When I arrived I took the car to my mechanic due to some driveline issues i experienced on the trip home. My mechanic put the car on the rack and discovered the car was unsafe to operate on the roadway. The frame was rusted through with several holes and structurally unsound. There is evidence that someone attempted to straighten the frame and tore the frame at the front end, which was hammered back in place and tack welded. The tie rod end was wearing a hole in the oil pan. The break lines were not attached to the frame. There was also evidence of rust throughout the floor pan. Clearly not the rust free straight car the salesman had represented. As it is a violation of both FL and US law for a dealership to sell an unsafe vehicle to me I contacted the sale manager and spoke with him about the condition of the car and requested he rectify the situation. He was unwilling to do anything about this issue. I would not recommend anyone purchase from this dealer. read more

I just bought a 1965 convertible corvette from these guys. They took pictures of it with the convertible deck lid in super condition, put those online and only advertised it with a soft top. The owner later produces the hard top and for unexplained reasons, these "car guys" put the hard top on the car (completely unnecessary), chip the paint on the deck lid and then ship me the car WITHOUT the hard top bolted down so the hard top can bounce around to chip the paint some more on it's 1500 mile journey. Now I am left to try to match a restoration paint job and they take no responsibility. read more

The variety of cars on the floor is fun to check out (if you're in the area - Tampa) but close inspection shows lack of attention to detail as to how cars are priced so buyer beware and don't be afraid to bring someone with a critical eye. Recently looked at a black 69 Chevelle ($36K) and the list of things sketchy about the car were unfortunate. Pics from the site look great but in-person the once-over showed it was clear the car was formerly canary yellow (frame-on paint job left lots of spots still yellow); 350 had its Eidelbrock valve covers on backwards (!!!!) and were throwing oil onto the block; engine bay wiring was messy/scary; passenger side door rubbed on the fender when opening and wasn't entirely flush on close and there was a gap on the rear passenger inside vinyl panel; wrong bezel around one of the driver's side headlights; trunk lock was completely loose and trunk rubber still had yellow chafe from the original body color; red overspray was EVERYwhere (hoses, firewall, belts, etc.) from where the engine block had been spray painted red (and original yellow block was still peeking through some spots) with the engine still mounted; silver hood stripe was sexy but was an appliqué and not part of the paint; the seal and chrome trim around the rear window was gapped towards the passenger side and looked primed to leak and the section of the body below the window was missing its seams on either side that normally carry up from the trunk seam line and suggested bondo/rot conceal. Site touted the engine was newer and only had 400 miles on it and was SAE installed but was really hard to believe that after viewing the car in person, unless SAE stands for Sam's Aunt Emily. They also had a 69 Chevelle Tribute (orange) that had a bigger engine, was in generally better condition (still had some issues) and salesman admitted that black/red cars sold better and you really had to dig orange to want the Tribute which (eyeroll) explained why the black Chevelle was apparently arbitrarily $5K more. Showroom itself is not AC'd; rear/side bay door was open but it was generally stuff and hot and given the humidity in Florida not sure if that's great for the cars. Cash on hand, was stoked to buy but left disappointed. read more
