Attended Heartland's one week Adult camp. I'd played some college hockey but taken many years off…read more Started playing competitive age group hockey and coaching again but wasn't skating enough to recover lost skills. Found the Heartland Adult program while looking for camps for a U14 player. The program is well organized and fun. There are three adult groups and the men and women range from new adult players to serious post-college skaters from all over. Age range late 20's to AARP-eligible. Many return year after year. Daily schedule consists of two 90 minute practices per day and a video-recorded 45 minute scrimmage. There is also one hour dry land shooting, classroom to review video, and time built in for beach activities, extra skating or shooting, or rest. We even had an after-hours "Hockey Yoga" session. There are five coaches on the ice. Drill progressions are well thought out. The coaches work with each skater to provide just the right amount of input to help them progress. The program includes recording forward and backward skating speed and blue line to blue line acceleration. Many returning skaters use this as a benchmark for year-to-year progress. You can also have your shot speeds checked with a radar gun. All testing is optional. Dorm rooms are basic but very close to all activities. Weather was mostly sunny and there is plenty of room to dry gear between sessions. There is limited (free) laundry facilities or if you have a car there is a commercial laundromat 10 minutes away with large washers and dryers available. Just about everyone showed dramatic improvements during the week in skating, shooting, and positioning. Highly recommended.

He very rudely FLATLY refused stating there is an absolute no return policy, even though he canceled the camp. We now have to go to through the conciliation court. Worst customer service & worst interaction I have ever had with a business. We have 5 hockey playing children & who have attended camps throughout the country never, ever with a negative experience until now. I am essential healthcare worker working hard everyday to keep our community health, while people Steve Jensen serve only themselves, without a second thought about essentially stealing from others during this pandemic. Terrible business practices - please go elsewhere.

It was definitely fun, but we also got a great workout! We pedaled over 5 miles on the trail, which was fairly level, but certainly did have some inclines and declines. The man who set us up was super friendly and accommodating. Two of us are on the short side, so he added a block to our pedals, which really helped. I definitely recommend!
