The location is great, easy trail access, and (somewhat) reasonably priced. We often leave on a Friday afternoon to get a night ride in. What is somewhat annoying is the temperature of the cabin is in the 50s (in the winter months) when you arrive. Meaning, we have to wait for the temp to rise before going for a ride as it's like changing in a walk-in cooler. Not the best way to start a ride on a cold winter's night. Though the other 5 cabins had a picnic table and fire ring, Cabin 1 had a picnic table buried in snow, and no fire ring (though perhaps it was also buried). We had planned on using both, so this was disappointing. It would also be nice if you didn't risk your neck having to navigate the narrow, icy path to the restrooms/showers. Lastly, each cabin should really have a comprehensive trail map on the wall. They would get so much use. Overall, it's a fun place, but could certainly use a tune-up.

Very personable fellow, who went above and beyond. I had a situation with one kid that necessitated an "emergency" trip to a convince store and he helped out with no complaints or signs of annoyance, when it clearly must have been annoying. The trek down the Pine River was beautiful and so relaxing. My kids (9 & 13) had a great time. Our whole group did. I don't know much about what else they offer but the caring service rendered, along with the great time meandering down the river, was one I'll remember for a long time.

This place... This place. I like this place. I took my…read moreparents here one weekend when I had decided that we had not yet done anything 'as a family' in a while. What do I mean? Well I come from a family that doesn't go camping or does many outdoorsy things besides walking or biking. So I decided, why not take everyone kayaking to see how it goes. The price for a the kayaking rental was affordable, but also they fit you and take care of you very well here. You're not really timed on the rental, its more of, "Hey let us know when you get to the pick up point and we will go pick you up." They are super friendly, and even launched my family and myself from the dock themselves. Of course, there is a safety video, life jackets, a map and kayaking accessories. But besides that, it was a great experience on the Mississippi. We brought food on the trip as well, so eating fried chicken on the Mississippi was great. I would go with Clear Waters Outfitting Co. again. The pick up was great, the driver was very sociable, and accommodating to our needs. Bottom line: Great place to rent from, and a great staff behind them.

They got all the kayaks and life vests ready, did a little tutorial, gave us their recommended path and answered all our questions. We launched between the dams on the Mississippi River. There was no other boat traffic and it was kind of like a lake, virtually no current, just a leisurely kayak ride.
