In private sessions she's always been able to tailor the workout to the specific area I want or need to focus on at that time. In group classes she does a great job to ensure each participant gets the most out of the class, regardless of their level of ability or conditioning. I've also taken her yoga and mat Pilates classes at McFetridge Sports Center and other locations. They are challenging and have a great flow. I wish I had the time to work with Pam more frequently.

Most days I have moderate to severe tension headaches that negatively impact my quality of life and require that I take too many muscle relaxers and too much Advil, which typically only relieves the pain for a short period of time. I started going to TMG for physical therapy (PT), and was really impressed by their multifaceted approach, integrating vision exercises, physical exercises, and shoulder/neck/cranial/jaw massage. Then I started getting full body massages from their massage therapist...LIFE CHANGING!! Jessica uses what she calls a clinical approach to massage, which incorporates deep tissue work to really get out the tension. The first time I got a massage, I went in with a severe, pounding tension headache. An hour later, I left and my headache was gone - and didn't come back for days. I was so impressed, that I decided to switch my treatment plan from PT 3x/week to once a week massages. In that transition, Adam (who was providing most of my PT), taught me additional exercises that I could do independently to continue my PT work on my own. I'm hoping that the ongoing weekly massages will help retrain my muscle memory, and ultimately reduce my need from weekly massages to perhaps twice a month or less; but we'll see. For now, I'm just happy to have hope again to live headache free.

Anyway, I worked out with Aimee for my first session and have subsequently been working with Lizzie, my now regular instructor. Philosophy wise, WP teaches contemporary Pilates. To the classical snobs, this may not be considered "pilates." Classical people still teach as if we were still in the pre-Civil War era. What you do get with a contemporary workout is a very customized lesson plan - definitely not of the cookie cutter variety. Lizzie is very knowledgable of the human body, and can adapt the workouts to meet each client's needs and their pathologies. She keeps things fun and interesting I always feel like I've accomplished something following the session and my body aches in a good way. I also leave happy, unlike with my prior experience at that other place. Most importantly, she actually listens to you and your needs. Private lessons aren't cheap ($80/hour), but I've found them definitely worthy the money. The setup and the atmosphere of the studio is very welcoming. Its definitely a comfortable place to workout, and I like their variety of equipment (Balanced Body reformers and chairs, cadillac and two towers). In any case, I'd highly recommend WP to anybody looking for a good workout and to strengthen your core. I'm a PT by profession, and I wouldn't hesitate to refer my clients here for post rehab work, knowing that they'd be well taken care of! If I had a complaint or two, I wish they had a water dispenser and towels on hand.
