The training is excellent, but the staff is very sales driven and aggressive, and when I pointed out the smell they acted like I had two heads and deflected that something was wrong with me - very unprofessional. I came across a few "bigger" gyms in the area (that, years ago, I was a member of) but when I contacted them, I just knew they wouldn't work for what I needed/wanted. I emailed Crossfit Expressions and they quickly got back to me with clear answers to my questions and a "no problem" kind of attitude. Since joining in March, I have been quickly welcomed into their community. It's a small gym with an awesome atmosphere -- people know each other, talk to each other, support one another and the class sizes are small. The programming is thoughtful, easily scaled to your level -- and without a doubt, every time, gets you an great workout. As a military family, we've had the good fortune of being a part of many Crossfit gyms. The coaching here by Carole, John & Jordan is the best I've experienced. They take their time with you - give specific instruction - and really motivate you. I've had 2 kids since starting Crossfit. They met me where I was, helping me scale and set attainable goals for the time I'm here. There was no judgement - just quality coaching and programming. If you've never done Crossfit or are just starting, this place and these people are the way to go. I have never, so quickly, felt like "part of the team" and in our lifestyle where I am constantly the "new person" I appreciate that more than they know. I'll be back whenever we are in town!

My wife recently attempted to get out of her car in the parking lot and found it extremely slippery--unsafe to the point where she had to move her car to another area. Unfortunately, the conditions were just as bad throughout the lot. This is a basic safety issue that should not be overlooked. I reported the concern, expecting it would be taken seriously. Instead, her membership was canceled. While it was later reinstated, the initial response was surprising and, frankly, concerning. I then went to the facility to raise the issue directly with management. I approached the situation calmly, simply trying to point out that unsafe conditions in a parking lot could lead to someone getting hurt. The response I received was repeatedly being told to "get out," with no attempt to acknowledge or address the concern. At that point, it became clear that member safety and basic professionalism were not being handled the way they should be. I am no longer a member. I hope the business takes steps to address the parking lot conditions and improves how it responds to legitimate concerns in the future.

For me, the gym has always been an intimidating place where I wander around guessing what exercises I think I should do, how many, and how much weight I should be using . Maybe I could eventually make some progress that way, but I have been down that road enough times to know I never get very far and end up quitting. I needed some guidance. I was nervous since I've never worked with a personal trainer before, but Arsen put my nerves at ease right away. We talked about my goal and how I would reach it, and before I knew it, I was "sitting down having a cup of coffee" -which is not as fun as it sounds - since I quickly learned this meant doing a wall squat. Arsen shows me how to do the exercises I need and most importantly how to do them properly. He provides workouts along with videos incase you forget how to do something he showed you for days you're not there ,goes over your nutrition with you, and is always accessible if you have any questions. He's professional, yet fun. I am always laughing during our sessions, even when I'm dying on the last set and he's told me I "only" have 10 seconds left about 15 times. His gym eliminates that self conscious feeling of looks from other people because when you work out it is just the two of you. Certain exercises I had to start with low weights because I'd never worked out that part of my body before, I told him I felt like a whimp, but he always reminds me that everyone has to start somewhere. He knows how it feels to be unhappy with your body, because he has been there too. His motivation and genuine interest in your success are infectious. He makes you feel super comfortable and says nothing but encouraging things. Knowing the hard work and time he puts into you as a client gives you another level of accountability. This time I feel like I won't give up, because i know I wouldn't just be letting myself down, but I'd be letting someone else down also. Most times I forget I'm paying him because it feels like working out with a supportive, knowledgeable friend. Though, instead of spending money on unnecessary material items that will lose their value in a few years as I always do, I feel like I'm finally investing in myself, something that will never lose value. My particular goal will take time, and will not be achieved overnight but I'm not worried about the time, it will pass anyway. With Arsen's guidance, I am eating healthier and already feel better about myself. I have more energy and no longer feel as self conscious going to the gym. Rest days have become my least favorite days because I am always looking forward to the next session. I am super excited to continue my journey with Arsen and feel confident that if he can help me with my goal, he can help you with yours too!
