The trainers themselves have become my family over the years (love you all!), and the people that I've met working out here have been so kind and made my first experience as a young person in a gym so much more comfortable. With a heavy heart, I'll be leaving this year to go off to college, but I can safely say that I'll find my way back to Infinity Fitness any time I can. In my 8 years of living in…read moreFairfield County, I've belonged to the expensive gym in Noroton Heights, two $10/month gyms in Norwalk, and the community-based center in Darien. None of these 4 options offered me the motivation or structure to keep my commitment for more than 2 months at a time. I've been an active Koko member - going 3-4 times per week -- for a year and it's changed my life. I've not only dropped 25+ pounds but I ran my first half-marathon in May. Strength training programs are individualized for you, and each machine will lead you through your customized workout. It IS like having your own personal trainer, but automated, which is even better! There are also 15 minute cardio programs (on both the treadmill and elliptical) that are both quick to do yet intense enough to give you a complete workout. And, for those of you who are driven by data, each member can log on and access their workout history, track their strength gain, eBMI, and lean muscle mass progress. Koko even offers nutritional planning and menu options, based on your individual profile. Oh, and the place is immaculate, the staff is supportive and friendly, as are the other members. If you're looking for a new fitness club that will keep you engaged while also fitting into your busy lifestyle (did I mention that I'm a full-time working mom of 2 little boys?!?), you should definitely head into Koko and check it out.

On October 19th, 2022, I fell off a ladder, had a compound fracture and crushed my heel. On…read moreNovember 21st, 2022, I had corrective surgery. My surgeon is the Chief of Orthopedic Foot and Aankle Surgery in one of the top ten hospitals in the country. He said, this was one of the worst crushed heels he had ever seen. He said that after he scheduled a two-hour surgery, and it ran something over four hours. There were serious questions as to how well I'd be able to get around, and most likely would require a cane forever. I'm 79 years old, and on Medicare. I began my physical therapy in February 2023. In working with Evolution Physical Therapy and more specifically Nolan Rufa, I went from a state of crutches and limping into their facility, to now walking pretty well and have achieved about 70% of normal. Together, we established and achieved all the goals we set. My current goal is to achieve complete stability. At that time, I expect to be at 80% of normal, at which point it may be time to declare victory. So far, I've had about 120 sessions, some more grueling and painful than others. Nolan was very patient with me as I'm a type A and not particularly easy to get along with, especially in a difficult situation like this one. Over the past 21 months I've had an opportunity to observe others receive physical therapy. Of the four or five therapists I observed on a regular basis, they all seem to have the same desire and commitment to their patients. I'm sure the small size of the facility, personal one-on-one therapy and a good selection of personnel are responsible for my success. Boy did I get Lucky, no cane. Thanks Nolan.

After arthroscopic surgery on my right knee decades ago, I slowly became more and more sedentary over time despite a brief period of training for the occasional fun run or half marathon. My range of motion suffered over time too. Now, I'm done with that, wanting to make every day to be as active and pain free as possible. Kristina listens carefully. She is very professional and, most importantly, effective. She is knowledgeable and experienced, knowing exactly what exercise will strengthen and correct the habits we may have fallen into. After a few weeks, I can already see (and feel!) the results of Kristin's excellent care!

I visited the YMCA today because I called and was asking about getting a 50m swim test done here…read more We were told to come in and make an appointment. Patrick, who works at the front desk, was extremely helpful and spent a good amount of time getting us to where we needed to go for a swim test. We were there to make an appointment but he called up Henk to ask if he could help us with this process. Henk was so friendly and helpful as well. Instead of making an appointment for another day, they asked if we had our swim clothes with us (thank goodness I prepared myself just in case) and had us do the swim test right then and there. Henk emailed us the letter with his signature a few hours after we completed the test. We were not charged anything for using the facilities and getting a test done. This was by far the best experience and the staff were so accommodating to us. I've been calling and emailing the Stamford YMCA for the same test and it was not as consistent as Darien (it took two weeks, two calls, and numerous emails to get help from them). Darien was extremely helpful and we are so appreciative of the staff there! Patrick is new to the YMCA but he was amazing. We greatly appreciate his help in contacting Henk for us. Henk's last day is Thursday so we came at the best time. He was incredibly friendly and excited for us as to why we needed this swim test. The facilities were amazing and the decor was beautiful. This was probably the nicest YMCA I've ever been to. Thank you Darien YMCA!! You really helped us with this!!

I used to be a member and I had to take a break I…read morethought I would try it again this month because there was a promotion - their salesperson, Ashley called me hundreds of times so finally I said I would do a free class as long as it was free. I verified that it would be free about 10 times. They will say absolutely anything and lie to their customers to get them back in - because when I got there the Manager Mike and front desk person, Nate said they would not honor this. This place treats their customers and potential customers poorly and I am appalled at their incompetence and unprofessionalism.

The workout room itself is more spacious than your average glass box setup you'll find in more OT locations; making it feel like it's own gym. The staff and coaches here are excellent, particularly Dana and Alice. They definitely make you feel like you're there to workout with them rather than just mindlessly be instructed. The way they run their classes really caters to pushing yourself instead of you just trying to keep with the vibe they set; something I'm not a huge fan at other locations. They both have a killer playlist too if you're more into rock while working out. Highly recommend taking a class Alice if you want the best first impression of Orange Theory.
