This…read morewas a great gym to drop into as a hotel guest at a place that offers free access, but I'm not sure I would join this gym unless it was really, really cheap. Here's why: 1) Equipment: pretty good selection actually. Lots of free weight options, including barbells, a squat rack, benches, a deadlift area with bumper plates, dumbbells up to 100lbs; plus many machines, including cable machines, and quite a few cardio options. The high point of this gym is definitely the variety of training options. 2) Ambiance: needs work. The whole gym is dark and a bit dingy; the bathrooms are filthy (well, at least the men's was), there's water and who knows what else on the floor and many lockers were broken; equipment is in general disarray, and some machines don't function exactly right. All in all, this gym needs a tune-up! 3) Convenience: 24 hours, close to many downtown hotels, some parking out front. All in all, an ok gym, but definitely needs some TLC!

This gym is pretty gross. Despite that, it's busy. A lot of hotels send their patrons here. Every…read morepiece of equipment has rust and/or paint peeling. Floors are discolored. Wall mirrors are cracked. Machines feel dirty and gross. I didn't see most people wiping down after using. There wasn't a water fountain. No towel service. They don't even care if you scan or not to enter. The locker room is probably the cleanest area and supringsly large.

I took my first class this morning - I was almost late and came running in, "am I too late?" Nope said Jen, owner & barre instructor & proceeded to help me get set up. The 915 am Fri class was packed , but enough room for all, I have taken barre classes for over a year but wasn't familiar with all of the exercises but with the help of the girls next to me and some sweet correcting from Jen, I got a great workout, Honestly, I expected it to be easier than what I am used to but soon realized that the hard work was dependent on how deeply I focused & not just the class. Harder to focus when you are trying to figure out where to put your hands but I bet after a couple more classes, I will be in the Barre zone. If you live or are visiting near downtown Charleston, I highly recommend this fun studio. The only downsides to me was how crowded it was (good for them!) BUT I am spoiled by the more intimate studio I use in ATL. All in all, a good experience.

After five years and multiple tightening of restrictions, I'm throwing in the towel. Annoyed that I have to pay cancellation fee too.

I am so glad they open up this gym to community members and the one big perk of signing up as a community member is that you get preferred parking. For $5 a month, you get to park in the parking garage beneath the gym, which is crazy convenient for Charleston. The work out rooms, pool, locker room, and other facilities are kept very clean and in good condition. The staff is friendly and eager to answer any questions you have. Even though there are a lot of people that attend this gym, the space is well organized and therefore it doesn't get too crowded. You have full access to the group exercise classes they offer and they offer a wide variety of them. I only have 2 minor issues with the wellness center. The first is that there are not a lot of weights to go around in the free weight room. If there are people using every bench, for example, you usually have to share weights with someone or wait for them to finish. My second issue is that some of the machines are very old. There are a few machines sprinkled in to the facility that don't work properly and are very outdated, which is strange because the rest of the facility looks brand new. Those small issues aside, if you're looking for a new gym, this is the place to go!

This was under the bus shed near the Visitor's Center, which was a great location, especially since we had nice weather. It didn't rain, but we had shelter just in case (some of the park events have been rained ut). Another reason the Visitor's Center was a great location for YogaPop was the parking garage directly across the street- very convenient. I thought Kathryn Buddig did a good job with the class. I do yoga each week, and while I'm not advanced, I've been practicing a few years and know the basics. I took a friend with me who was new to yoga and she was able to do everything, modifying some poses as she needed to. With hundreds of people, some other yoga teachers also walked around and offered alternate poses or helped you (unless you didn't want to be helped in which you could say no). Along with the yoga, a number of vendors were there- everything from juice, salads, and sliders to beer and wine and also yoga items like t-shirts. The only downside was that I felt like the ticket price was a little expensive.

The vendors at the event were a wonderful selection of vendors that kept me shopping until 9:30. The one thing I'd suggest is having a food and drink option at both ends of the bus shed. I was starving and thirsty (for wine) and had to backtrack to get them. I think everyone should do this event if you have the slightest interest in yoga. This will be on my calendar next year.
