A beautiful park right in the middle of the city. There isn't much to it aside from a big walking path around the lake but it's a very relaxing spot. There's benches all around to take a break or enjoy the view I've really enjoyed just walking laps around the park to kill some time and be outdoors.

What a breath of fresh air at colonial lake! I probably walk colonial lake every week day. It's the perfect loop, do 1 or 3 you can't go wrong. They have 2 water stations for dogs or if you just need water. Plenty of benches to rest or just soak up the sun! You will find people biking roller blading, or just basking in the sun on the greener/ studying! Never too crowded! But plenty of space for everyone. The jasper is right next to it which has alcove market which is refreshing after a long walk and then the courts and playground, can't go wrong with a walk here. You can find parking on side streets Rutledge or ashley. It's simple yet so spectacular. Must try if in the area.

Colonial Lake Park went through a massive facelift just a few years ago and it is beautiful. There are a few things to know 1. If you are a runner or walker, the entire walk around the last us only 1/2 mile 2. The new Jasper will continue to have noise pollution until the project is done. 3. The natural and diverse range of flowers give off an amazing aroma, but if you have allergies be careful 4. It is a quiet place to also read or lay out right in the heart of the city. 5. You are minutes by foot from some great food including Queen Street Grocery and Fast and French. If you want a quiet and healthy escape in downtown Charleston, this is your place

It is a favorite among Charleston locals and tourists alike. This park is ideal for a sunset picnic or a relaxing stroll, and it only adds to the romantic charm of Charleston. It won the 2007 Landmark Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects, confirming its status as a Charleston treasure. You can stroll through the gardens, walk the esplanade, or spend some time at one of the many fountains. Spanning over 8 acres and located less than a mile north of The Battery, Waterfront Park has become a beloved Charleston fixture. It is home to one of the city's most photographed sites: the pineapple fountain. In Charleston's scorching summer months (and we faced that too), visitors (especially children) can be found cooling off in the shallow water of the fountain. Wide walking paths, dozens of benches, well-manicured green spaces, picturesque Palmetto trees, and a famous Pineapple Fountain adorn the park.
