My suggestion is come early to snag parking and that's the only not thing to really watch out for. The playground boasts tons of different areas with opportunities to swing, climb, bounce, roll, and explore. I loved the variety of activities and things to do. I also love that the playground is mostly covered which makes the sun or some drizzle not a big deal. There are some areas outside the playground to sit and eat. I'm not sure about the process for booking an area or if you have to, but it's a solid place for a party. This is now a weekend staple!

It is located in a former motel spot & stretches all the way to King St. it's stunningly beautiful with gorgeous Magnolia Trees & Crepe Myrtle's. They have some areas that are shaded and from what I understand will have shade umbrellas in the summer time. From what I understand, The park was a gift from Ben Navarro of (Charleston Place Hotel) to City of Charleston. Stunning.. do not miss.

You could easily spend an entire day here and walk several miles without covering the same area twice. They have over 11,000 acres of swamp/marsh, grassland and wooded areas. Bring your camera for some beautiful nature shots. They have a few benches around the park for you to rest/relax. A portion of the nature area used to be a rice plantation. The visitors center adjacent to the parking lot provides a little history for those interested, and has a few items for sale. Bathrooms are available. Pets and bikes are prohibited. Bring bug spray! During our visit we saw several alligators, lizards, squirrels, baby toads, turtles, one small snake, a marsh rat/mouse (who wasn't remotely scared of us), and of course many birds. Be aware you can encounter alligators on the trails and low boardwalks, and there's nothing separating you from them; a very friendly nature center employee said they never have incidents, but the risk is higher in the Spring when males are vying for females. And if you see very young baby gators, remember mom may be nearby.

They one is no exception, but it's a baby park. A small square park surrounded by residential homes with a few benches, a central water fountain and lots of flowers all around. Sometimes smaller is better. This is perfect for a long talk, a little short distance frisbee or catch, lunch outdoors or a nap. It will be buggy in the warmer months. Be warned. It is a cozy little escape right in the heart of a good residential community.

The second 1/3 is composite decking on a raised boardwalk. The final portion is dirt/crushed gravel. With the exception of the boardwalk it is shaded and most of what is visible is marsh until you get to the end where the river is visible but not accessible. Worn and clearly well used, nicely maintained and clean. Great place for a relaxing stroll.

This park is tucked away, but still close to Lockwood Boulevard and is easy to get to and get out of. The park is usually not crowded and is quiet aside from the traffic noise. There is cool sitting area that has plants and landscaping all around it in a circle that is much appreciated. Overall this is a cool park.
