When we visited, the staffer was very friendly in explaining how things work. They don't offer pizza or bagels currently, but they're working on getting that action going one or two days per week. We downloaded the PF app and checked in digitally. I invited my daughter as my guest. The locker room was clean, the locker doors are all in tact, and you have to bring your own lock or get one from the front desk. I used a treadmill and an ellyptical for about 45 minutes for my first workout. The equipment worked perfectly, including measuring my heart rate, calories, and time. The treadmills are height and speed adjustable and they face a row of TVs for your viewing pleasure. I listened to my own music, even though there is music playing in the background. You have to clean the equipment each time you are done with it, but not everyone does this and when they do, they don't actually make an effort. But I make an effort to clean the equipment because I understand why we have to clean the equipment. On my second visit, I was able to use some of the weight machines, which I very much enjoyed. This location is not very crowded, so that is my jam.

I also reached out to the 800 number and spoke to a customer service rep. This individual was extremely rude, snarky, and not helpful at all. He told me that if I don't make the payment that he would put me in collections, and it would hurt my credit score. He also continued to ask me if I had any type of proof that I canceled my membership. The phone conversation ended up with me hanging up on him. 10 minutes later I start receiving multiple text messages from planet fitness telling me that I owed them membership dues. This was followed up with an email from planet fitness saying that there is a $20 late charge for a membership that I canceled last year. I went to the club and spoke with an employee and he helped to resolve my issue. Unfortunately, this review hits the Copley Fairlawn club not the general customer service of planet fitness.

So pickleball was a smash hit. Then I went into the club to get a beer, a tour, and a membership. I was pleasantly surprised by all the amenities that they offer. They have weights, a walking/jogging tracking, a steam room, a bar, a lounge, TVs, ping pong, shuffleboard, pilates classes, cardio fitness equpment, indoor & outdoor tennis courts, outdoor pickleball courts, volleyball courts, basketball courts, indoor golf, soccer/lacrosse field, and updated locker rooms. There's a lot going on here compared to other health clubs in the area. I spoke with the general manager, Val, and she was super friendly and down to earth. We had a draft beer from the bar, while we chatted and watched tennis on TV. I really liked the vibe that this place has and I am hoping to start using the weight machines and pickleball often.

Springside Racquet & Fitness club is a nice facility, but it is a little dated. If you are playing someone that knows the facility well, they will use that angle to their advantage! The locker room facilities are adequate, but you will definitely be taken back to the late 80s early 90s with the decor. There are several toiletries available for use in case you forgot anything, and a separate area with large mirrors for getting ready after your work out. The facility offers a full-size basketball court, walking track, and with several weight/fitness equipment options. I have never been a member of this club, but have visited as a guest many times. It is tucked away in an industrial parkway area of Fairlawn, so you need to be alert when searching for the building.

So energetic and encouraging and they make each workout fun. You'll definitely leave there feeling the burn. The classes are almost always just ladies, however I have been to a couple of classes with a guy or two. It's open to all, but most people are regulars and everyone seems to know one another. The studio is very clean and I really appreciate that the classes start and end exactly as scheduled. The weekend classes always fill up quickly, so be prepared to be wait-listed.

The instructors are top-tier -- knowledgeable, motivating, and they truly pay attention to your form so you actually get results and not injured! Every class leaves me energized and feeling more positive about myself. Worth every single penny.
