I hate to sound like Goldilocks but some were too aggressive, some were way too easy or focused only on stretching, some were just not appealing. Then I tried Orangetheory! It has everything I need: a nice combination of core strength, cardio and muscle building, great music, coaches who are supportive but not overly pushy, fun people to work out with and motivational programs that get me coming back throughout the week. I don't feel like I'm competing with the person next to me. Their methodology and data tracking about every workout keeps me focused on the progress I'm making for myself! Whether you want a hardcore workout or you are just starting and need to pace yourself, Orangetheory could be a great place to go. Since I started training with him, I've lost 5 lbs and feel like I'm making real progress. Mathieu is flexible with scheduling, easy to work with, and knows how to push me without making workouts feel miserable. He definitely gets more out of me than I would on my own and keeps challenging me to work toward my full potential. I've also been really impressed with the improvements to the gym. The Vault is a great addition and gives us a lot more options for training and different exercises. Overall, really happy with the gym and especially with Mathieu. Today is Sunday, and the posted opening time is 8:00 a.m. I arrived at 8:35 a.m., and the doors were still locked with no staff present. This is very frustrating for members who expect the gym to open on time. Additionally, one of the younger employees at the front desk frequently smells strongly of marijuana, and the odor lingers throughout the gym. This creates an unprofessional atmosphere. Another ongoing concern is that several treadmills and leg machines have been out of service for over a month without being repaired. Paying members should have access to properly maintained equipment. Overall, the cleanliness and friendly staff are appreciated, but the unreliable opening times, lack of equipment maintenance, and unprofessional conduct make for a disappointing experience. I hope management addresses these issues, as they may be contributing to why the gym is often so empty.

I've been into fitness and movement for years and have tried a little bit of everything--from…read morestrength training and at-home workouts to yoga & Pilates and other studio classes. I first came across Oak Method when I was looking to try Lagree, and being the first Lagree studio in Morgan Hill immediately caught my attention. I actually took my first class just a few months after having surgery, so while I was excited to try something new, I was also a little unsure of what to expect and how my body would feel. From that very first class, though, I felt comfortable going at my own pace, modifying when I needed to, and still getting such a good workout. Shout out to Maddie! One of the things I immediately loved about Oak Method was how small and intimate the classes feel. You don't feel lost in a room full of people and the instructors are actually able to pay attention to you, help with form, offer modifications, and challenge you when you're ready for it! I've now taken classes with several of the instructors, and they all bring their own personality and style, which I love. No 2 classes feel exactly the same, but what IS consistent is how they make the workout accessible for different levels while still somehow keeping it challenging every single time lol. Whether you're brand new to Lagree or have been doing it for a while, there's always a way to meet yourself where you're at AND a way to level it up. But honestly, what makes Oak Method special to me is everything surrounding the workout too. Noelle and the entire team have created such a welcoming, encouraging, community-driven atmosphere. It doesn't feel intimidating or exclusive, and you can tell there's genuine intention behind what they're building beyond just getting people in and out of a 40-45 min class. Having the first Lagree studio in Morgan Hill feels like such a great addition to the community, and it's been really cool watching the community around Oak Method grow too. I originally walked in just wanting to try a new workout and ended up finding a studio I genuinely look forward to coming back to. If you've been curious about Lagree but feel intimidated or aren't sure if it's "for you," I really think Oak Method is such a good place to start. Even thought this place always seems busy the few times I've been here, I'm able to use a day pass…read moresince my cousin is a member and whenever I'm in Gilroy I get in workout here. I couldn't bring myself to give it less than five stars been here twice already since it opened a week ago. It's perfectly clean, never seen dirty or broken equipment. I use their sled push since most gyms don't have it. From my personal experience the staff here is super friendly and attentive, quick when checking me in. They have lots of trainers but they keep to a specific location section of the gym which I really like, so that they're NOT taking machines and equipment from the general patrons. They have it all, cardio equipment, treadmills, stair masters and stationary bikes. Lots of free weights, squat racks, benches, cable machines and EZ curling bars. If I lived in Gilroy, I would come here everyday - allegedly Watsonville is suppose to get a Crunch fitness, but so far no updates. Hopefully they open up in Watsonville soon, thank you for the hospitality and keep up the good work.

I hope ownership takes these concerns seriously and provides better customer service training, because the facility itself has potential, but the way members are treated is unacceptable.

I had a full round of Rolfing plus tune ups for over a year with Kathryn while I was working in…read moreMorgan Hill. I was having problems with injuries sustained during sports and needed more treatment than I could get from deep tissue massage. Not only was she able to masterfully release the chronic binding in my hips and neck, she taught me a series of pilates exercises so I could stay in shape without weight lifting. She also seemed to enjoy my singing during treatments (if you've been rolfed before you might understand why singing was necessary). Ok, maybe she just tolerated that--at any rate she put on a very brave face. She has high integrity and skill. A master of her craft. I completely trust her with my body.

I've seen Kathryn off and on for several years for rolfing only. I first went to see her before I…read moregot pregnant during fertility treatments to help get rid of adhesions and other muscle/body problems that my doctor thought might be preventing me from getting pregnant. She did the full series. After I got pregnant i went to see her throughout my entire pregnancy and I always felt better. During my second pregnancy I had severe pain in my back, legs, and hips (from caring a breach baby during the 1st pregnancy) she was able to help me then as well. Pros: Kathryn is extremely knowledgeable about the body and she can find problems and correct them. She spends the entire time rolfing. Some other practitioners talk for the first 30 minutes or more and do very little actual rolfing. She works your body the entire time. She is devoted and keeps taking more classes to learn her craft and it shows. She will make you feel better and she'll be honest about what your body problems are and how long it will take to heal. She also doesn't have you come all the time. Once she feels your body is better and you are no longer in pain she'll tell you that you can come in several months for a tune up. Cons: there are no cons about Kathryn but you should be aware that rolfing is not a massage. It can be painful especially if you have had misalignments or adhesions in your body that have been there for a long time. It can hurt to correct years of bad posture and other body problems. When it hurts tell Kathryn and she'll slow down and she'll teach you to breath through the pain to release it. You also will feel a bit sore for the next day or so after a session but after that you'll feel amazing. Also if you are doing the initial series there are some sessions that are awkward (like when they go up your nose and mouth). Just remember there is a purpose for it and that you'll feel better when she has her hands up your nose. My headaches and TMJ went away after she did the session up my nose and mouth. Rolfing is well worth it and using Kathryn is amazing. I can't say enough good things about her.
