Nothing but good things to say. I've been his patient for over 5 years. The very first visit ended with him giving me his text number. And get this, he actually responded to my text message on a Saturday when I was suffering through covid. Warning: he tends to run late in the afternoons, because he doesn't rush his patients out the door. So, go to your appointment with the expectation that he might be a little late. In trade, you get a primary care doctor that is willing to discuss, explain, and spend the extra minutes with you. The other really different aspect of his practice is that everyone is relaxed. If you have a concern or question, his staff seem to be empowered to deal with the problem. Some relatives were visiting from Nepal (without health insurance). His office manager arranged for them to come in at the end of the day. I think he spent close to an hour answering questions and helping them get discounted blood tests. read more

I worked in healthcare for 36 years and cannot recall any physician who actually made house calls. Until Dr. Stringer became my mom's PCP over a year ago. My 91 year mother has numerous health issues and can be a bit high maintenance I must admit. Yet none of this seems to phase Dr. Stringer. Dr. Stringer is like an old time GP. He always listens attentively, knows my medical history, and is kind and compassionate. He's also quite skilled at diagnosing and looks beyond the obvious to find treatments that are suited for the patient. Dr. Stringer is an EXCELLENT physician. He has been my physician for the past 8+ yrs and and time again and again, he has shown care and compassion even after hours. When necessary, he will call me back even if it's after hours. He is VERY knowledgeable, and I trust him with my health. In an era of a shortage of primary care physicians, I feel lucky that he's been available to me every time I have needed his expertise. My husband and I were both shocked and angered when we read the negative reviews about our Primary Care Physician, Dr. Scott Stringer. We have been blessed to have had Dr. Stringer as our PCP over the last four years, and we couldn't have asked for more excellent care! Not only has he been one of the most attentive, compassionate, skilled, and knowledgeable doctors we've ever had, but he's also offered his unwavering support, guidance, and expertise to us every step of the way through some major health issues we've faced. In my case, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, he referred me to the finest oncology team and monitored my progress throughout. In my husband's case, he has supported his treatments and continued progress through an auto immune disorder, referring him to specialists as needed. We owe him a debt of gratitude for the wonderful care he's given to us, and we feel that the negative reviews written about him are totally unfounded!!! DR. SCOTT STRINGER: A TRUE EAST SAC FRAUD. Several years ago, I was looking for a Primary Care health physician, and saw that a Dr. Scott Stringer was located in the area of 51st and J street in East Sacramento, and was taking new patients. At first Dr. Stringer was very personable and gave me his own cell phone number in case I needed to call him in an emergency. When I first entered his office, I noticed that he decorated his staff with a Southeast Asian flavor led by a dour faced office manager named Mina. I also noticed as a new patient that Dr. Stringer was only in his office on certain days, as he was treating patients in convalescent homes in the other part of his work week. Apparently after a few visits with Dr. Stringer he felt comfortable enough with me to tell me some unwelcome sexually oriented off color jokes about how a male patient can get more benefits from female staff members in an office with a PPO health plan then with a HMO health plan. After a few visits with him I noticed that he could not remember certain tests that he had ordered for me, and could not even find the results even though the tests had been taken. In recent years Stringer started taking some dermatology courses and eventually he fancied himself as a "cutting edge" expert in the field. Stringer wanted me to use his services as a dermatologist but I respectfully declined his offer after hearing a couple of patients complain about the work he had done on them. At the age of 77, I need to take about a half dozen different prescribed medications, but Stringer insisted that I needed to also start taking cholesterol medication. I tried a cholesterol medication and then discontinued it due to side effects. I mentioned this to Stringer but he does NOT LISTEN to his patients, and he continued to prescribe the cholesterol medication for me. It got to the point to where I had to refuse to accept the refills he was prescribing through Rite Aid, or I just returned the full bottles of medication to his office. On two separate occasions, I printed out a list of just the half dozen medications I was taking and gave them to his office staff to give to Stringer so he would have an accurate list of what I was actually taking. Eventually on January 5th of this year I made an appointment with him to address his lack of communication with me. I told hm he did not listen to what I was telling him about side effects I was having with the cholesterol medication and that he was still prescribing medicine that I was not taking. Apparently Stringer cannot take constructive criticism. and it ended up in a yelling match where he arose from his chair and advanced towards me in a menacing manner. I stood up waiting for him to approach me when his dour faced office manager stepped into the office to break up the confrontation. Here was a case of a Doctor approaching a senior citizen patient in an angry and threatening manner and his office manager had to prevent him from challenging me. Actually it may have been better if Stringer had attacked me because 1/he would have lost his license, and 2/he would probably have been knocked out. Stringer called my residence later that night to apologize and wanted to have an "useful" conversation with me. I never called him back. In summary I would have to say that if this was the 1880's Stringer would probably be a traveling medicine man selling some elixir to different townspeople. However this is the year 2025, and instead of being a "cutting edge" doctor, he is merely a run of the mill primary care physician of little note. If you should be so unlucky as to being referred to him for dermatology issues, make sure you check his license to see if he is qualified to provide that service, as I am sure the California Medical Board will be contacting this unsavory doctors office in the near future. I'm so relieved to find a doctor with an impressive breadth of knowledge and a great bedside manner. I think a good part of having a successful medical experience is having a Doctor who has those qualities. It's a symbiotic relationship which requires communication in both directions. Doctor Stringer is great at giving medical information or advice in a user-friendly manner. And the other side of the coin is, he listens to the patient. It's the symbiosis. You need communication going both ways. Regarding his staff...I have found them to be friendly and caring. In one instance I was having a hard time getting what I needed from another doctor and Dr. Stringer's staff member intervened and solved the issue. This is a good man with a good heart. The first time I met him he gave me his cell number. Say what? How many patients can say that they actually look forward to going to their doctor? I do, and I expect that there are many others that feel the same way. The data shows that few people ever write positive reviews. It's mostly the opposite---people mostly write to complain. Count me in on the positive team. This man deserves all the praise. In many ways, he's a throwback to stereotypical physician from the days of yore. Think of Burt Lancaster as a younger version of Dr. Graham in Field of Dreams. That's my Doc! read more

I want to start off by saying that I am a medical provider and I was introduced to Dr. Stringer by my uncle who was critically ill and unwilling to go to the Emergency Department. I examined him and determined that he was critically ill with obvious signs of heart failure. My uncle had been admitted to a local skilled nursing facility months earlier and he told me that the doctor that cared for him at that facility, Dr. Stringer, would make a house call. I knew my uncle was very sick and I believed that he was a bit delusional when he told me that a doctor which actually make a house call. I called the phone number he gave me and spoke with Dr. Stringer, telling him of my concerns. Within one hour Dr. Stringer was at my uncle's house, convincing to go to the ED by ambulance. That was his last trip to the hospital, but, impressed by this doctor who took his personal time to come to a patient's aid in the middle of the night was extraordinary. Years later, when I sought a PCP (primary care physician), I immediately considered Dr. Stringer. On my initial visit he covered my past medical problems thoroughly, ordered special medications from a compounding pharmacy, and ordered a comprehensive battery of lab tests. I have worked with a number of doctors from numerous areas or primary care, emergency medicine and subspecialties, and I can tell you that he is--in my impression--one of the best. He has a genuine interest in his patients which is very apparent. When I talk with him about medicine, I realize that he has the approach to medical care that I look for in a doctor--a holistic approach. Prior to meeting Dr. Stringer, I had been listening to podcasts, including Dr. Peter Attia's, who has a holistic approach as well. When I mentioned Dr. Attia's name, I found that Dr. Stringer was very familiar with him. Recently, I had rather severe back pain radiating into my leg that refused to improve. After it almost ruined my vacation, I came to see Dr. Stringer, who immediately saw me in his office, ordered pain medications and an MRI of my lumbar spine. It showed an area of severe neuroforaminal stenosis and, also, an area of moderate to severe spinal stenosis. He is in the process of referring me to a specialist for definitive care. It's a one star based on the lack of professionalism demonstrated by the people working in this office, totally unacceptable. Wed, Sept 4th 2019 I called the office to set up an app. A lady(can't remember the name) asked what insurance I am using. She said good, we accept it. Then she told me that in order to schedule an app I would have to call my insurance and let them know I want to chance the primary dr, and only after I will get the new card with the new dr's name on I'll be able to get an app. Done deal, same day I called the insurance and did the switch. Sat, Sept 7th,2019 get the new cards in mail with the Dr Stringer's name on. Monday Sept9th 2019, called the dr office only to my surprise to find out that dr Stringer does not accept new patients. Wait, what??? I go into all the details with the lady(apparently a different one) and she said she doesn't know who gave me all the info last Wed, but it wasn't her. I asked her to ask her other 2 colleagues, but I have already switched drs and his name is on my card so I am not gonna take a No as an answer. She decided to make an exception and set an app somewhere in January and I said fine! When she asked about insurance I said I am using Hills and she said they don't accept it. I informed her that both my insurance and the first lady whom I spoke on the phone with on Wed told me that Hills is accepted.She said"Yeah, it says that we are open for Hills but we don't accept it" GOD, have mercy! How in the world can you find a good dr nowadays with a professional team?! That is the main reason I wanted a new dr, the office of the previous dr was just as unprofessional as this office( got fed up after 10 yrs with that). I am glad now they don't take me as a patient because I will have the chance to find someone better without waisting my time or going through the old sour experience. read more

I am often very, very weary and nervous about going to see the doctor but for the first time in my life I was very comfortable. The environment was very comfortable and Dr. Stringer is a fabulous doctor. He actually LISTENED to my concerns and gave me advice without belittling me. He listened to every single health worry I had and made recommendations and spent so much time with me. I seriously cannot get over how fantastic he is. I often go to doctor's offices and feel incredibly rushed, but Dr. Stringer made me feel like he actually cares and even gave me his cell number so that I can text him about questions or concerns for medications or health issues.
