Small gym, would be great if staff, ownership and members would keep to themselves. Not the case here. The owners, staff and members fraternize and fan-girl over their very public political ideology and create an unwelcoming and dark environment for members. I attended this gym for 6 months; I was stalked and hounded by staff, members and ownership. I believe they saw me as someone "who appeared" to be on the opposite aisle of political ideology and did not favor it. Very disappointing any business owner would behave in such a irresponsible manner. Had everyone kept to themselves and not acted like wild animals I would have given the gym a positive review. Not the case. People should realize most Normal folk only go to the gym to workout and not to fraternize. Leave your members alone and you will do well in business. I would not recommend this place as a permanent gym solution to anyone. read more

If you are looking for a gym that is unmotivated, gossip filled, come here. The front desk is a place to spread rumors and talk behind your back. Equipment from the 1980's no KG plates are you kidding? This is not a weightlifting gym, most of the equipment is inadequate. The trainers are not looking for your success or care about your journey. The owners don't practice what they preach. Low ceilings and no ventilation like most big box gyms have as normal practice along with no judgement This is a gym on a shoe string budget. read more

I chose Strive due to its wide array of equipment and amenities. I spend most of my time using free weights and cabled machines and I will say their equipment is in great shape and always maintained. There are redundancies in most of their equipment so having to wait is hardly an issue. The staff at Strive are great, friendly and invested in their gym! This gym attracts a great gym crowd as everyone has been polite and courteous of those around them. It's a great place to workout if you're an avid gym goer or just trying to get back into shape! read more

Just moved back here from Connecticut and was afraid I was going to have to join one of the big box gyms like LA Fitness. In CT I had a gym that I LOVED and was probably most sad about moving because I would have to find another gym LOL! One of my employees found this place and told me about their 3 day free trial. My wife & I came in the next day with our 1 year old to take a tour of the gym & their child care program. We were so impressed by the friendly staff, top of the line Equiptment, childcare, schedule of classes, cafe, etc. that we signed up for the Platinum family plan after the tour. We went for a tour of LA fitness and the highs cool kid at the counter told us that the sales people didn't work that day so we should just go walk around. He wasn't even educated on pricing, classes, how the childcare program worked, etc. SAC is not just a nice, clean, gym. It feels like a family owned business. I see the same people every morning. The trainers here are cool. The place is just great. I don't know what happened to the person who left that negative review but I've been coming 5 days a week for the last 3 weeks and my experience has been great. Wow. Another update. Based upon my initial review of Strive on December 3rd, I was kicked out of the club today and told I could never return. I was told verbally and in writing that reason for my dismissal was my "negative outlook" towards the facility. Really? My initial review was 4 stars. My 3 "need to fix" comments are honest, and I posted an update on December 28th about one of those issues and gave the club 5 stars. 5 STARS! I never spoke poorly about the club to anyone and I believe that my reviews reflect that overall, I did enjoy working out at Strive. I feel that I was treated very badly based upon an honest Yelp review. read more

I first came to Strive via Groupon. The facility is tucked back off of State Road 56, but doesn't have the most well lit parking lot. The gym itself is beautiful! There are a variety of brand new equipment stations, including boxing bags. The spin room is separate from the group fitness room and both are spacious. AstroTurf area and kettle balls also allow you to diversify your workouts. The LesMills instructors are energetic and experienced. This is a great gym that I would compare to as "a diamond in the rough". read more

Strive is the BEES KNEES of gyms around here in Wesley Chapel. Brand new EVERYTHING with lots of room to use the equipment. I checked out basically every gym in the area and Strive is far and away the best. It has more space, better equipment, friendlier staff, and cheaper membership rates than any of gym around. It's the perfect storm of gyms, I'm mean c'mon! All the other gyms have monthly rates of $50 plus per person, but strive's single person rate is only $35 a month so unlimited access to all the gym equipment, at all times of the day. I go in at 5 A.M. and Chris (one of trainers) is always at desk with a smile on his face. I have no idea what Jenny's review is talking about, I've never been met with less than a smile and a "good morning!" read more

I love this gym. They foster a very family oriented atmosphere. The owners and few trainers I've met so far, are very nice. My trainer, Ron, May be the best I've ever worked with. He's attentive and responsive. The two daycare workers are also wonderful. They're great with the kids and also encourage cleaning up and some other responsibilities. I pass 4 gyms on my way to get to this one. We actually have free memberships (through our HOA) to 2 of them. While I initially joined Strive for XFit, I stayed for the atmosphere, even though I'm not doing XFit. And the equipment is always clean, the bathrooms are clean. I've never had an issue getting on a machine I want to use. The size of this facility is also great to offer you plenty of available options. read more

Sadly I am updating my review going from five stars to almost no stars. When I first join this gym I loved it. What was once GREAT is not far from it when it originally opened for someone like me it was amazing group fitness was offered in multiple classes in the Les Mills program. They had a core group of ladies from lifestyles a gym that had closed that came over with the instructors. The classes offered or body pump, body flow, body combat, CX works, RPM, and attack. One by one over the years it was proven that members at this gym for a group fitness were never the priority. One by one classes all got cut down to just two classes body pump, and RPM. Good fitness was moved outside of the main gym to its own building mid construction with no consideration to group fitness. We were told we would be able to have a music as loud as we want. This new room was dedicated to group fitness supposedly. But the owner didn't tell us was that we are right next-door to a dojo. The dojo complained of music was too loud and we were probably shut down to work out with quiet music and work tiptoe around others in the building. So much for dedicating your group fitness he knew better than to put a dojo next-door to a loud studio. One by one The instructors for the most part left strive due to being treated poorly. The owner change the schedule without any notice to the members even though we have to give 30 day notice to cancel our membership. How is it fair that I'm trapped another month of membership when you change the schedule the next week. One by one majority of the group fitness members have left the ones that are left mainly stay for RPM. As of right now I have heard that the owner just cut one of the best RPM instructors. The only reason I kept my membership as long as I did was because of that cycle program which is now ruined. If you like group fitness I encourage you to go somewhere other than strive. The owner is self-centered and a jerk his mother works the front desk and is rude. read more

If you are looking for group fitness classes I wouldn't join this gym. The gym itself is a great facility, but the owners are rude and don't care about members. We cancelled our membership and sorry we didn't do it sooner. Only stayed because the instructors are great but the owners managed to chase them off. The instructors remaining are good but enough classes to make it worth your while. read more

Amazing gym. I found the owners very welcoming and nice. I had used a day pass in the past when a buddy lived in the area before I was really into fitness. I recently moved back to the area and went in for another guest pass. Their policy is one trial pass (makes sense), but the owner still let me work out for the day to get a feel for the gym. I am currently not a member because my girlfriend is under contract at another gym and would have a fit if I left that gym with her. I can't wait to sign up for Strive once that membership is up. From a weightlifting perspective, their equipment is perfect for bodybuilders and powerlifters. Love the power racks and the bumper plates for dead lifts. read more

On numerous occasions I experienced both owners' demeaning attitudes towards me and other members. The negative environment drove off other members and instructors that made working out enjoyable. I got into the gym when shapes closed down in Wesley Chapel. At first I love the gym and my shapes instuctors that came in with me! We had a lot of group fitness classes. The classes and most of all the instructors had left. No more just pump! I love the instructors there and the gym is clean. I just think the owners of the gym are rude and impolite! I personally do not work out here. My son goes to boxing and my daughter works there with the children. I've seen some great results for my daughter doing CrossFit she loves it!!! My son has grown and is the most fit I have ever seen him, while in this program! Every time I go in there to see my children they are extremely nice and always welcoming. read more

I first came to Strive because of Groupon... and the owner (a man) showed me around and was very nice; however, his wife who works the front reception area is a sour person. She is extremely rude and one can tell that she despises her job working the front desk area. Her facial expressions and off-hand comments are so ridiculous. The gym would run much, much better if they would stop being so cheap and hire a happy person to work the reception area for $9 an hour! Also, they NEVER run the air condition low enough to make it comfortable. My opinion is... there are WAY better gyms out there offering the same classes, etc. and you won't have to walk into a sour face, which throws off your whole workout before you even get started. read more

I've been both a member AND an instructor at this gym so I can give you the full story... As a gym, it's nice enough. Decent equipment in a smaller, less intimidating environment. The crossfit seems reasonably priced compared to competitors. That's pretty much where the good ends. The management is absolutely horrible. Customer service and the manner with which they treat their own employees is very poor. The staff is a revolving door at this place and that should tell you something. I've heard the way the owners talk about their members behind closed doors and it isn't pretty. Ask for Christine or John at the front desk and you'll understand what I'm talking about. Zero social skills and just completely unprofessional, from their dress to their foul language. Schedules are changed without notice, membership agreements are conveniently "forgotten". If you make a deal with these people, GET IT IN WRITING and SAVE IT. I guarantee they will not remember they said something to you 2 seconds later. If you try to bring a guest, good luck. They get the third degree at the front desk. I can't tell you how many guests I've brought who REFUSED to come back because of how they were made to feel. I even had a friend agree to work their kids club, but she was driven away on the FIRST day, crying because the owner's mom was so god awful to her. The kids club is nice on the surface, but I have serious concerns about the cleanliness in there. I have seen the owners let their big dog run around in the kids club after hours. As a group fitness instructor, I can tell you that the club wasn't as clean as it's advertised. The floors in the group fitness rooms are absolutely filthy and we were constantly running out of paper towels / disinfectant without the owners caring to do anything about it (other than bitch at you because you were asking for more). I've caught and killed more than one cockroach during class, in front of members. As an instructor there, I never felt valued. Only a nuisance. I stayed for the members, who I loved. Despite the borderline sexual harassment I received from the owner. He sent me private messages suggesting that I was a stripper as well as pictures of a birthday cake with sexual jokes on it. As his group fitness manager, he inquired about the physical appearance of potential instructors I brought into the club: "Are they fat? / Are they hot?" Apparently, you have to be deemed attractive to work for him. The owner has single-handedly ruined group fitness at this club. The suggestions of members are not listened to and his only concern is his bottom line. I understand a business needs to look out for itself, but Strive goes about it all wrong. Shady practices abound at this club. If you want to attend a gym and not care about how you're treated or thought about, then this is the place for you. If you are concerned with WHO you're giving your hard earned money to, you'd be better off handing it over to other establishments. I will end this to say that I was "asked to leave" my position at the club, but I stand by everything I've said here and would be happy to provide evidence, if necessary. read more

Very poorly ran facility. The owner and his mother (who works the front desk) are very rude and disrespectful. They are not engaging and personable with their members at all. The owner has been known to not pay his employees and has kicked members out of his gym for giving negative reviews online. He does not know how to run a business let alone care for his members and employees and I'm certain there are other issues and finances that are not legitimate.
