One of the best benefits of a YMCA membership is being able to access multiple locations throughout the Tampa area. My only wish is that this particular location was a little closer to my house!

Once I did, I pretty much booked that same hotel so I could have an awesome workout here. Coach Pepper is encouraging, understanding, and actually *coaches* you on technique and form (and for me -- being so new, this was important). I knew that when on one of my first two days there, my shoulder was bothering me -- he took me off the floor and put me on crossover symmetry right away (v. familiar with) ... that's when I knew that this would be my gym for as long as I was in Tampa. The athletes here are very friendly and welcoming, and the camaraderie is great. I'm not sure what my future CF holds in my hometown of CLT as I'm worried I won't find another place like CFDH. While Planet Fitness is inexpensive and caters to newbies, there's a lot of frustrating things there for people who want to progress. The space is clean, well-equipped, and organized. They don't oversell memberships, so there's no issues with waiting for equipment. I feel like at Forged someone can start new and then grow into a fitness lifestyle at a pace that is comfortable for them, and at the same time people who are really focused can get all that they want and more. I've become more of the latter over time. The owner is friendly, and he continually makes improvements based on member input. They also offer behavioral support that is not found elsewhere. I'm really glad that Tampa has this place available.
