We had a great time visiting the Austrian province of Tirol in September. Great views of the alps,…read morepicturesque little towns, clean mountain air, friendly people, hiking through subalpine forests and enjoying Austrian food. We didn't have a single bad meal there but nevertheless developed a hunkering for some nice steaks after eating Austrian food for several days. A quick search on Yelp led us to this American style steakhouse not far from our bed and breakfast in Tirol. Based on the great reviews, we decided to try it out and the restaurant did not disappoint! We arrived kind of late on a Friday evening, without prior reservations and the place was busy, but got lucky as two people were just leaving. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and talk about Americana, there were a bunch of Native American and Wild West artifacts that were displayed on the walls as well other things that reminded one of the good old USA. The interior otherwise felt like a high end steakhouse in the States. They had a wide selection of different steaks, salades and sides available. They also had a nice selection of beers and bourbons. We enjoyed some excellent T-bone steaks, with an almost buttery texture but crispy exterior, and full of flavor. They were about as good as you can get them even compared to steaks in the States, salads and fries were great also. In addition, we ordered a green bean side dish which contained enough green beans to feed 4 people. The portions were quite big and the prices quite reasonable, especially considering the quantity and quality. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely come back here when we are in the area again (though I would make a reservation next time)! It's great that one can enjoy some of the best American food in a little town in Austria :)

Fall off the bones ribs. Great place with a friendly owner that was extremely helpful.read more

No reservation made in advance or required at that time of day. Inside was cool with rustic wooden decor and furnishings. Menu contained many of the classic Austrian dishes that we were looking to fill up our stomachs. Portions looked big but it was also nice to find some options that came in smaller plates so we could make sure that we left enough room for one of their desserts. We took a little longer to nail down our meal and we ended up getting some very basic dishes: The small plate of Austrian meatballs were quite tasty with a savory sauce and creamy mashed potatoes. The veal schnitzel was huge and took up more than 3/4 of the plate with a few boiled potatoes. Nice crunch on the outside and juicy veal on the inside but the potatoes were a bit plain. The crowning end to our meal was one of the city's famous desserts, the Salzburg Nockerl. We actually switched from the apple strudel at the last minute so we had to wait a little extra time before the nockerl was served. It's not an easy dessert to make though its main ingredients were eggs, sugar and a little flour. The 3 browned peaks were impressive when served. The raspberry sauce on the bottom provided a sweet add. It was very close to a soufflé with a very airy like texture that melted in the mouth. Well worth the 24.9 Euros charged and the most expensive dessert of our trip. We had great service from the staff and easily accommodate our change our minds on the dessert. We closed our tab at the table and would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting some good food options.

We went with the local favorites The Goulosh plater with dumplings and a Bratwurst to share each. Although I never drink beer, I opted to try thier local brew. Our server Simone was very nice and gave us some of her local suggestions. The Fiod was very tasty! The Goulosh was the right amount for lunch and a huge dumpling ball to go with it. the Bratwurst was good but no bread with it. more of a meal with potatos. All the service was great in this old world 162 year old establishment.
