Gina carefully crafts each session to fit my fitness needs, using fun tools/props!
    Amy B.

Gina is amazing. Incredibly knowledgeable, but more importantly, I believe she applies a truly holistic approach to matching the right fitness program to each person's needs. She knows a great deal about health and wellness, and, for the interested, can shed light on things that can be done that you might not have thought about on your own. Strongly recommend.

I started working with Gina in December 2017 for two main reasons -- 1) I was hoping to "get in shape" for my May 2018 wedding and 2) I was physically and emotionally exhausted from work/life overload. I felt like I was burning out and on the verge of a breakdown if I didn't act fast to figure out how to take better care of myself. Being in service to others is my life's passion -- I love helping people become their best selves and, most importantly, I love achieving common goals together. While my willingness to help has gotten me very far in life, as I've gotten older, I've found that it often causes my own heath and needs to take a backseat. At the point when Gina and I started working together I was a young VP of Marketing in a rapidly-growing business, the President of a unique start-up non-profit that required an extraordinary amount of hands-on work, a soon-to-be wife, the owner of two dogs... and the list goes on. I felt tired all the time. I always felt over-committed and I couldn't do anything about it. I was incessantly "running 5 minutes late". Admittedly, I constantly felt like I was letting everyone down, especially my fiance who hardly got any of my quality time. And most importantly, I didn't feel good. I wasn't happy with the way things were going and I knew that while I had a lot of great things happening in my life, I needed to make some changes in order to sustain that momentum. Working with Gina was the catalyst for big changes that were desperately needed in my life. I recognized immediately that the work we were doing together was about much more than losing a few pounds -- it was about dedicating time to myself and making a commitment to my physical and mental health. Her no-nonsense attitude was exactly the influence and partnership I needed. She didn't tell me what I wanted to hear, but instead she focused on what I needed to hear. With her help, I finally understood that there was no magic bullet for health and most importantly, that being healthy has much bigger implications than fat loss alone. I realized that if I couldn't carve out two hours a week to better myself, then I was never going to sustain the type of personal growth that I'm seeking. She helped me to find strength that I didn't know I had, especially as it relates to creating better boundaries for myself. I found that in order to keep my commitments to our trainings, I had to say no to other things that would pop-up, but that the world kept spinning! Not only am I a fan of her workout style, but emotional coaching far exceeds anything I've ever experienced from a personal trainer in the past. While I recognize that balance and boundaries will always be challenging for me, I'm in a much better position than I was when we started working. I recognize more clearly the feelings of over-commitment and am constantly working to set better expectations for myself. I've also stopped searching for a "quick fix" for health, energy, mental clarity, and gratitude. I see that those come with hard work, just like all the other accolades I've achieved in my life. The work is constant, but so gratifying and contagious.

Gina helping me achieve my "50 & Fabulous" goals!!

It had a very corporate vibe. (The fact it calls itself a "boutique studio" is nuts to me.) It is not unfriendly, but I didn't particularly find it warm or welcoming. No one really spoke much to each other, and in one class, the instructor didn't even introduce herself. The studio seems clean, although I loathe the environmentally-unsound practice of using disposable wipes for every class - shame on Club Pilates as a corporation for continuing to do this! It is impossible to make last minute changes. I considered buying an extra class during my time, but everything was waitlisted well in advance. I booked weeks before, and I think that is why I got into the classes I did. But then none of the classes seemed totally full? Also, I noticed that even when we started class 10 minutes late, we ended on time, meaning we were shorted out of time we paid for. I think my first class lasted for about 35 minutes total, which is definitely not what I thought I signed up for. The classes were... underwhelming. I took a Level 1 because I was new to the studio (and unable to sign up for something higher despite my experience). It was fine and I enjoyed getting my movement in, but the pacing was strange and often felt rushed and disorganized. I felt we didn't spend very long doing any of the moves, just rushing on to the next one (except bridging, which all of the instructors spent a disproportionate amount of time on). The instructors were not always very clear in their instruction, and I imagine this would be confusing for true beginners. I also had the most bizarre experience in my last class there. The instructor just left the class in child's pose while she went to the bathroom during class. I thought she was joking at first until I noticed she had actually left. Then later - during the same class - she wandered into the lobby on her phone about a personal matter, losing track of what we were doing during feet in straps. It makes for a fun story, but... what?

Every teacher is so thoughtful and really has a passion for Pilates. I have done the cardio sculpt 1.5 for about 2 years on and off. I recently had an issue with my credits and got the help I needed quickly. Yes- it's hard to get into a class but pre book your classes in advanced you will not regret it. If you have any issues with credits they will work with you. This studio is very clean.

So, am I seeing results on the scale - no. But, muscle weighs more than fat. Where do I see the results? In my pants size, bra size, and overall clothing size. Clothes that I haven't been able to wear for a few years are fitting again. I can walk to my car carrying my backpack without breathing heavy. I can take a flight of stairs without being winded. I can sit on the floor and get back up without looking like an overturned turtle. This gym beats other gyms and personal trainers because they give you a new program every 6 weeks. You are given a set of workouts and for 6 weeks, you do those workouts. You can start an exercise with a 5 lb weight doing 6 reps and at the end of 6 weeks, you could be at 10 lbs and 10 reps. You have a written record of your progression. After 6 weeks, you get a new set of exercises. This way, you don't get bored and all of your muscles will get a workout. All the trainers rock. There isn't anyone that makes me feel uncomfortable. Being a woman, that's important to me. If you keep with a regular schedule, you'll see the same people working out week after week. We encourage each other and, after the isolation of covid, it feels good. By far, the best workout experience that I've ever had.

Scheduled a call to review my needs and was able to get into Eric's schedule for a Friday assessment. The gym is quaint and quiet, I've driven by a million times. The parking is a bit odd, a few spots up front where you have to reverse onto S Lamar when exiting...sooo that can be a challenge. They have parking in the rear of the building which is great however there is a single entry way and well, not sure how multiple cars could park and get out. Just know your reverse skills need to be on point. The gym inside has everything you'd need and since it's not open to the public it's just the clients and trainers. That means no waiting for machines and no one looking at you while you're there. Eric is great, he's very easy to talk to and made the whole experience easy. Upon arrival we walked through the questionnaire filled out online to find out the why behind the personal training inquiry. He then did a body scan for weight and fat %, took blood pressure three times as well. Gave a quick tour of the gym and how things work then it was onto the physical movement assessment. Nothing too crazy, range of motion and flexibility tasks. Took an hour for the initial visit and came back the next day to finish a few small exercises then learn the warm up needed prior to sessions. No membership needed as you buy the session in backs, 5, 10, 20 and can be used how you want. Like that there's no long term contract to sign. Session will start in the next week or so with focus on building/repairing the base/functional imbalances before getting into the fun part. Time will tell how this goes, wish me luck!

None were ever returned. #FRUSTRATING and a loss of money for me. Incident number 3 - I moved from Austin area. Called twice. Of course, for a second time, my initial message was not returned. When I did reach someone (I think her name was Courtney) she was HORRID. I very nicely explained the situation and that I needed to cancel my membership do to moving.
