strong brick pizzeria was fire. we got seated right away even with it being pizza week. i had a coke and the almost famous hot and spicy pizza and it was amazing. the spice and crunch hit just right and the grippos on top made it super unique and crazy good. service was solid too. our server brought the drinks fast and the pizza came out fresh and hot straight from the oven. it was a little louder than i'd like but overall it was a really good night. read more

I recently moved to the area and was told to give them a try. Walked in and Amber the bartender was very friendly and attentive. She went out of her way to give me a rundown of not only the food options, but also of the neighborhood. The drinks were great and the wings were good. We used to be regular customers here after they first opened but it went quickly and steadily went downhill in quality and service. Having not been in a while, I ordered from them this weekend. I ordered the Meatball appetizer, first time ordering it, and the small 3 Cheese Bianca with added Prosciutto. I arrived to pick up my pizza at the time I was told it would be ready and when I was handed it I could tell it was barely warm. The meatballs were hot and pretty good. They had a nice texture and good flavor. My husband and I both liked them. The pizza wasn't very good. It was cold and even looked cold. How cheese gets when it has sat for too long. I warmed it up a bit to make it edible but it just wasn't that great. We were reminded as to why we don't eat here anymore. Even though it says under new management on the sign - it's obvious that didn't help. And then this morning our local community page posted that the building is up for sale. Go figure... read more

The server was vary pleasant and efficient however he had his pants hanging below his utt and had his underwear VERY exposed. Hang in- It's a long one but I feel important for the restaurant- if they read this- to know. How well a business the treat their staff and others is important. While on the phone tonight with our door dasher- who was so nice & called to let us know they were running behind- we heard a woman who worked there yell at the dashers. She berated them and told them to stop asking about the orders and they would get them when they got them or they could just get out & leave. She was angry. That is a direct reflection on how she feels about not just the people who work to deliver their food but us as customers as well. Our dasher stayed there 50 minutes waiting (he said we were the last of the night and he would stay). He asked me if I heard all that and I said yes & then he told me it wasn't the first time she's done that while he was there. He said she threw the phone the first time she yelled at them. Our dasher was so kind and patient- definitely didn't deserve to be spoke to that way. FOOD: We ordered 3 pizzas. A large Quattro Formaggio and added prosciutto and peppadew peppers. They forgot the peppers. We ordered a small pepperoni. They burnt it to an absolute crisp. We LOVE brick oven and we usually really really like Strongs but this wasn't that awesome brick oven char that they often have. It's inedible. Lastly we ordered the Mashed potato. It was very good. Total was $69.41 (that included a 10.00 tip). But we gave our dasher another 20.00 because he deserved it for waiting, putting up with being yelled at & still wanting to deliver to us. I know people can have bad days & I know it was Super Bowl Sunday- so I am sure they were extra busy but what I heard wasn't ok. Had lunch at the Reading location with a coworker, and we will definitely be back. Entire staff was very helpful, friendly and attentive. Some of the best pizza I've had. That crust was dynamite, the oven was awesome to see right out in the middle, and that spicy red sauce on the Diavolo Dolce was killer. What a welcome addition this pizzeria is to the town of Reading. Located in the former Sorrento's, it is a great place for families or date night. Nice large open space and I love that the brightly colored pizza oven and pizza making station is located where the old Sorrento's piano bar was. Visited for the first time during Cincinnati pizza week. The dough and pizza or just delicious! My husband ordered the chicken wings and they were very juicy, large and meaty! The pizzas had the best crust; chewy yet crispy with a little char from the brick oven. The Pizza Alla Vodka Pie especially good-- the sauce was super flavorful and the toppings were fresh and covered the whole thing generously. So I just left Strong 's and will never go back. And for the record, I am African American. My bestie and I were like " let's get a bite", we got there and was sitted between 2 parties by a white hair man. My bestie is white, for this. So my bestie gets her food and I am waiting patiently for like 30 minutes. The second party gets their food before me. I found out that my food was ready and given to another table. And then we were expected to pay for it, after slamming my food on the table, the check came and all of sudden, I was the bad person. The "manager" says I should be happy I got my food in 30 minutes .Also the manager looked inexperienced and refused to take food off the bill and looked like a deer in the headlights. The woman that was from the early birthday party paid for our meal, like it was about the money, truly offended and disrespected. We might have over heard that it was an employee, also. The excuse was that they were short staffed and expected me to be "happy" I got my food and Even went as far as to argue about it like it was something that happens all the time. That was the most racist and offensive service I have ever received at any restaurant. I will not be returning to this place nor let the people I know eat here. Strong's checks all the boxes for my personal favorite taste of pizza. The crust is a thin crisp with a light chewy circumference. I really love how bright and acidic their red sauce is. I find myself requesting light cheese at other pizzerias to accommodate my personal preference but at Strong's each pie has the right amount of mozzarella. I only ever get pepperoni (my fave)... pizza doesn't need to be complicated; am I right? I've had the salads and they aren't green enough for me BUT the house made dressings and sauces are fantastic. I also quite enjoy the wings; probably a nod to the sauces. One time, I visited around my birthday and the bartender whipped up a pink birthday shot for the occasion! It was a very kind gesture. Really great pizza. We opted to try two different smalls, and that was plenty of food for both of us-2 pieces of each kind. The special is a garlic mashed potato, cheddar, green onion, bacon with a side of sour cream. The flavor was excellent. The consistency was a little too runny. I think smashed potatoes or even chunks of potato would have been good, but it is still worth a taste. The Mindy's Mediterranean is also tasty. I found the sundried tomatoes a little sweeter and I would add some olives on it to kick up the flavor a notch, but both pizzas were good. We each got an alcoholic beverage and agreed that they were fine, but a little pricey for what they were. I got the Italian Margarita, my date got the white sangria. I'd skip the drinks and spend that money on the pizza. My goal for the next visit is to save room for the Nutella dessert pizza! read more

UPDATED REVIEW: Their margarita pie is absolutely delicious. The crust is made fresh, and tastes as such. You just know when you're tasting quality crust vs something processed, frozen, etc. Cheese is very high quality, and they put not only tomato sauce, but whole tomato slices and basil leaves on the pizza. Portion for a small at $11.65 is pretty good. 10 inches leaves me feeling more than full. Their cheese/sauce concept is interesting, they put only cheese and only sauce on certain areas of the pie. I remember someone explaining that it was "Old World Style". I wanted to give a 5/5. My advice to the owner is stop nickel and diming customers. Your competitors usually offer COMPLIMENTARY LARGE cups of extra pizza sauce to those who request it. Some of us like to dip our crust in it, some like extra for our calzones. It's cheap, no big deal. When I got a calzone the sauce portion included was microscopic/total joke. When I ask for extra, they're 50 cents a pop and so small you need to get multiple. Went in with a large party. The restaurant was older and could really use some updates. The party room had an old house musty smell and was really warm. Bathrooms are not in the greatest condition. Service started out great but the our waiter was pulled elsewhere and towards the end, it was awful. They messed up on one of our pizza orders twice and one of our pizzas was extra crispy. They said it would be compt but it ended up being on our bill anyways and we had to pay for it. I don't live by this location and I would not personally comeback intentionally. read more

This spot is my favorite spot to get pizza with my son. We love the feel when you walk into this resturaunt. This building was an original structure from the late 1800's. In the hallway to the bathroom there are historic pictures of Reading and the original building is shown there. In the 60's it became the Iconic Sorrento's Italian Restaurant. How Strong's succeeds in rehabbing this old worn down resturaunts and giving them new life is something each community should be thankful for.
