He is stellar. Richard uses modern digital tools like Dropbox to make it very efficient to upload W2s and other paperwork at your convenience, and is amazingly responsive to questions. Communication is direct and crystal-clear, and e-signing and e-filing returns makes the whole process a breeze. My only regret is slogging through TurboTax for so many years before Richard was recommended to my thoroughly-researching wife. The 12+ unpleasant sleep-deprived last-minute hours I save each year are worth the fair price of tax preparation from Accutax. And our tax liability seems to have dropped a bit too.     I had a terrible experience working with Marguerite "Margot" Ziperman. Basic details like my…read morebirthdate and business name were wrong and not corrected despite multiple requests--it only got fixed after I escalated it to someone else! The actual tax prep felt sloppy and rushed. I was told we'd compare standard vs. itemized deductions, but that didn't happen until I pushed for Margot to do it as she had promised! I also had to follow up to make sure obvious deductions (like my cell phone expenses) were even included--after I had already provided the documentation! They were NOT initially included. Like wtf??? Communication was dismissive and transactional. Getting clear answers or a simple phone call took way more effort than it should have. A supervisor, Erin, called me and acknowledged Margot's mistakes--but the call was a complete waste of time. No fee reduction, just empty apologies and an offer of "pizza" if I find myself in the area. Completely tone-deaf and unprofessional. Lastly, Margot forgot to add the discount I received for my fees, and I had to tell her to add the discount! Complete lack of attention to detail. Overall, this was disorganized, frustrating, and not the level of service you should expect when you're paying for tax preparation. I will not be returning.

Our appointment started late (~15 minutes); no big deal, but it was the smallest issue we had there. The tax-pro was incredibly meek, and we explained we had all of our documents ready to go (.pdf) and ready to be sent via email as we'd done the years prior. She asked us if we had the app; we do! Unfortunately it's a pain to download documents from email to a phone, then find the docs to send them through an app. We asked if the they had an email; they did! Awesome! So; they point to an email on the screen in small font, and tell us to email it there (it wasn't their name, or anyone's name we knew). I asked once or twice how to spell the name on the email since they could see the text better. After my wife and I sent our documents to the email, the tax-pro said "ok, so this is you right?" and pointed to the email. We just sent our documents to a random prior client! THEN they told us in a very quiet to just come back with them in person, while staring at the ground. An absolute waste of half an hour, and now I have to hope a random client doesn't do something with the data we sent them. No apology, no acknowledgement; just boredom and apathy
