Short-version: Jeff Lipsey is simply the best…read more Long-version: I typically do my personal income taxes myself and have never had to file business income taxes before. I'm also one of those horrible last-minute filers. So it was that I realized at 5pm on Friday, April 12th (before the April 15th tax deadline, mind you) that I needed to file a D-30 Unincorporated Business Franchise Tax Return for my the AirBnB I began in 2018. I frantically called various CPAs throughout the DMV to try to get some advice on my D-30 situation (at 5:30pm on a Friday). No luck. Then I found the Lipsey and Associates blog post on AirBnB and casual rental income, which was very helpful in itself. And then I sent a horribly long e-mail explaining my situation to Jeff Lipsey and asking for his advice. At 6pm on the Friday before Tax Day. Most people would have probably just laughed at my e-mail and then gone back to enjoying their weekend. But not Jeff. He responded to my e-mail within 12 hours, and then answered my follow-up questions in less than an hour!!! As a result, I was able to deduct more business expenses and ended up netting almost $2,000, as compared to the tax returns I prepared prior to receiving Jeff's advice. Since now I'm working it was my turn and I wasn't disappointed! Got my tax return in 3 weeks and since I had to amend after 2 weeks, Daisy happily did the amend with ease. I didn't have to wait and Leslie took care of me once I walked in. They are absolutely fantastic! The office may be a little shabby-chic and outdated but who cares, as long as they do a terrific job since they're dealing with the federal government, I could care less. Her rates are also fair and Daisy is really an accountant I can rely on.
