Long time customer but recently they lost several articles of clothing. Couple pairs of pants and some of my wife's items. Stated we never dropped them off as they were never logged in but you don't go from having 2 deliver bags to 4 without extra items being delivered at different times. I'm sure they are there somewhere or with someone else. I should have kept better track and taken pictures myself. After several years we decided to cancel and move elsewhere. To be honest we kind of needed to anyway as I often would put in to have items mended (sewed) but they would come back and it wouldn't be done, only to have to have it sent back with instructions safety pinned on. If it's only for cleaning and you keep track of your clothes yourself they do a good job though. read more

I have been a long-term customer of this particular dry cleaner. I went in the other day and dropped off a white shirt for laundering. When I went to pick it up, I was overcharged substantially. I asked the woman why it was so much, and she said because it's a jacket. I showed her the item and told her it's obviously a shirt and not a jacket. She agreed. Next, she said I was charged for dry cleaning. I told her that I asked specifically to have this laundered as it was just a denim shirt. Her response to me was " you have been a long-term customer, and you need to have more flexibility with us". I told her that the person who accepted my clothes was brand new, and had just started that week. I asked to pre-pay the clothes, and they did not give me the pre-pay rate, they charged me for a a jacket instead of a shirt, and they dry, cleaned it when I asked it to be laundered. The only thing I was asking was the pay the correct amount for the service I requested. I contacted the manager Debra about this, and she couldn't have given me worse customer service. She told me that the employee wasn't going anywhere. What? I didn't want the employee fired. I just wanted to pay the correct price for the service I requested. She promised to call me back after I sent her a picture of the item, and she didn't. I sent her a text stating that apparently the bad customer service started with the manager. Then my phone immediately rang, and she was so rude to me that I couldn't even stay on with her and had to get off. I recommend finding a different place to have your clothes taken care of. Obviously, these people do not stand behind their their business or their work. read more

Normally I'm very happy when leaving my uniform here to be cleaned, normally the service is polite, speedy, and helpful. Clothes come out good too. But, I'm giving 1 star since on the phone, a lady whose voice sounded new, was very rude and not helpful at all. My wife called in the morning to see if we could get our clothes done by tomorrow due to a last minute work thing - we were willing to pay extra, and the lady gave her a run-around and said she would call her back to let her know if they could - she never called. My wife didn't feel like dealing with it, so she had me call in the afternoon and the lady did the exact same thing...I don't even know if she checked to see if we could get it done. Looks like I'm looking for a new dry cleaner... My wife went inside and the lady we talked to on the phone happened to be a manager (wow) - Donna, acted like she didn't understand why we needed our clothes. We even asked for them back dirty, but she said it would be hard for her to do since the clothes are in the back and there's a lot of clothes - you're still open, don't close until 6, I'm sure you can find our clothes by then, but whatever. Donna then asked why we needed them - wife told her we needed them for work tomorrow we just found out - and Donna asked, "What for?" Which, I don't understand, because if a customer asks for their stuff and says they need it, I feel like an interview or, game of 21 questions, isn't needed. In the end, she said we can come in at 7 when they open and they might have our clothes. So, we "might," be going to a new dry cleaner. Thanks, Donna. read more

I just picked up a pair of suit pants today that I recently requested to be hemmed. As I was paying for the pants at the front counter the older white woman told me to "hurry up". I politely informed her that it was discourteous to tell a customer to hurry up especially when I was trying give her exact change to save her her from having to break another 20.00 bill. This woman has a horrible reputation of being unprofessional with other customers and I would not return to this business in the future unless she resigned. I asked her for an apology and she refused. I am sorry but I won't return to this place of business and I do not recommend this dry cleaners. read more

Extremely disappointed. I go to the local store in Jensen beach. I have been going here for past year. Mostly because close to where I live. I wanted to get (3) pairs of pants to be hemmed which is $20 per. Seems expensive but again local store so went with it. I get them a week later. Pants were not cut. They are telling me the did. I don't understand. It clearly was not but refused to do it again, unless I pay again. Crazy. I would stay away. There not even friendly. Don't argue with a customer over something that it either fits or doesn't. Don't give them any business. Any of their stores. read more

This is a good dependable dry cleaner that usually has your order available when promised. From time to time they do lose some of your items but after some firm persuasion they do offer to pay for them when they aren't recovered. With proper employee training and controls put in place this could be the best cleaner in Stuart. For now, just another local business living on past laurels. The seamstress overcharges....I was new here and didn't shop around, my fault, she charged me $40 to take a few inches off and hem a cocktail dress; very simple, no lining. I took it in 3 weeks before I needed it and she told me that was cutting it close. She also was 40 minutes late, which I had called to ask her hours. I took a similar to another place and the charge was only $14.50 and done in a week with no rush charge. Will not step foot in Hometown Cleaners again. read more

I brought my wedding dress in for alterations. The seamstress is only there on Wednesdays from 10am - 2 pm. I had the fitting on Wednesday and then came back the following week to pick it up. When I went back to get the dress on Wednesday at 1:05 (45 minutes before the seamstress' posted hours end), the seamstress wouldn't look at me, which I thought was weird. I paid the $145 fee to the other person working there - this person would not look at me either, did not smile, never said hello. No one treated me with even the smallest amount of friendliness or professionalism, and not once did anyone make eye contact with me. It was bizarre. So, I paid for the alterations and then asked the seamstress if I could try the dress on to make sure it fit properly. She still wouldn't look at me but said, "if you want to but I'm leaving now." Again, the seamstress' posted hours are 10am - 2pm and it was only 1:05, but I thought maybe she had an emergency or some other reason to leave right away, so I asked "can I bring it back if I get home and it needs to be adjusted?" She STILL wouldn't look at me but mumbled something like, "if you want." I left with the dress and, as you can guess, when I got home it is too big and still needs to be fixed. There is no way I would take it back to this seamstress. I don't know what to do now with my dress and I'll have to pay again for alterations with a new seamstress. It was a complete waste of money that I don't really have to spend. read more

I use yelp a lot. I am awful at adding my own reviews, but I rely on the reviews that I see on yelp quite a lot. Especially here in Florida since I just moved here from California a few months ago. Everything is new. I have to find all new resources for things that I need. Back home I had my "go to" places that I was familiar with. So, I needed a pair of pants hemmed. Based on the reviews I chose this business and even though it was slightly out of my way I thought hey it might be worth it. I usually hem my own pants & save tailoring as a "treat" for nice clothing. And what happens here is I have the worst experience that I have had in Florida to date. I walked in and I was not greeted at all. Finally, a woman, the seamstress I assume is "Jackie", looked at me and I said I wanted my pants hemmed. In a very rude tone she asked me if I needed to try them on. I'm confused and I say I need them hemmed to a 29 inch inseam. She seems irritated and directs me to the other woman at the other counter. The woman at the other counter is Latina and proceeds to speak to me in Spanish, which is fine. I speak excellent English, I have no language barrier whatsoever, it is common to be addressed in Spanish by other Latinos. She asked for my phone number and we have a conversation about me trying on the pants, I explained to her that I normally don't try on the pants I just drop them off & have them hemmed to a 29 inch inseam but I will try them on if that is how they want to do it. I am a new customer & completely fine with. I did tell her that I did not appreciate how the other woman spoke to me, she just looked at me bewildered and said nothing. I went into the dressing area and I could hear the other woman (seamstress) speaking about me negatively. I swear I even heard her say to the Latina woman "if they are 'your people' they should just go to your counter". Wow. I should have just left right then, but I came out and she was just continually rude to me. I asked her if I was putting her out somehow. She went on to say that she had asked me if I wanted to try them on and this is how she does it and I tried to explain it was my first visit there and I didn't know. She then was extremely rude and went on about how she has 30 years of experience and on and on. I was so upset and just said never mind. She just looked at me so hatefully and walked away with no regard. I have never been treated so unkind, been so disrespected, and been so upset in a place of business as I was here. I just cannot believe it. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy (if I had one) if my life depended on it. read more

Delivery is quick and easy. I found holes in the sleeves of two of my dress shirts. I spoke with Donna and she was very easy to work with apologetic and gave me a store credit immediately. When I found out the holes were caused by my new desk and the furniture company was going to reimburse me I called Donna to let her know I didn't need the credit....she insisted I keep the credit on my account even though it wasn't their fault. Incredibly frustrated after several problems. I have received other people's clothes, missed deliveries, poor customer service over the phone. Customer service told me they "canned" their driver. Unprofessional response for service lapse. I delivered the clothes to their customer on their behalf. Didn't even get a thank you or a discount. Recently they had a computer glitch and apparently didn't charge my credit card for three months. Then charged three months all at once without discussing their mistake. My recommendation is to find another cleaner who hires people who treat their customers well and are not so disrespectful. This is what I just did. read more
