I worked with Melency Kolonovick, the manager for the crew of 5 young men and women. She gave a fair estimate of $4500 to prep and paint the 2-storey addition, including trim, soffits, door and door trim and window trim. Work took 2 full days. The painters were quick to correct misses that I pointed out. Drop cloths caught most debris and paint, but not all. Cleanup at end was passable. We requested that a partial gallon of paint be left for us for touchup, which they did. I was told that further cleaning was to be done, but no one came back. Basically a good job, and pleasant kids. But it helps to keep an eye on the project. read more

You get what you pay for. We paid the same amount as an actual professional and to have it done correctly we would have to pay to have it all done over. Hand brush paint everything, any teen could have done the same work, used the wrong paint, incredibly sloppy, no prep at all, came and painted in the rain, had a random person come and paint, climbing ladders in crocs, leave for random training meetings. We were told a professional would be on site to oversee, that was false. Over a year later and I am still angry I trusted and hired this company. It is a complete scam. read more

Workers were not reliable, product used is overpriced, the work was below standards. I scheduled for the workers to arrive on Memorial Day (the date selected by them). Worker overslept and did not come. Rescheduled for the next day; did a vey poor job of powerwashing to the point where wood on deck was lifted. Worker was supposed to come back on Wednesday; told me that he was over-booked and would have to come back on Friday. I told him that he was unreliable and that his services were no longer needed. He wanted me to still pay him! I asked him to leave; I did pay for the paint (which as a Veteran I would have gotten at the Sherwin Williams paint store for less than half of what he charged me. Very disappointed!!! The day they were suppose to paint, they called me early that morning and told me they needed more money than what the contract was quoted for. I declined and said, no, i don't want your services. i was told that our deposit of $300 would be re-funded. When i got home i called the number on the website and the girl said, Yes, we will refund you your money ASAP! We will see!!! Do not fall into this trap. Our home was just painted yesterday by Student Painters. These guys are all college students working over the summer to pay for their tuition. It took the crew of 4-5 guys one day from start to finish. We did do a little prep work beforehand but that's because my husband chose to do so. They arrived promptly on the date and time specified and got right to work. They were courteous, hard working and professional. I read the other reviews and our opinion is positively different. I know there are different crews and they change seasonally, but Vincent and the crew he had yesterday did a great job. We're pleased with the results and would hire them again. read more

Their idea of painting involves no prep before the paint is applied and trying to end the job and say complete asap. I had to tell them that the job was not completed 3 times with the last being the final, in which I am now still finishing the job. It was obvious as you could still see the old paint behind it but they would ignore that. They do not do a full coat and do not pay attention to detail like a painter should. Oh boy.. what a mistake it was! They did a real lousy job! They were polite, but beside that they had no skills and showed no motivation to do a good job. Came at 6 pm on a Sunday night, told him wasn't interested, had a painter and to please leave. Very pushy. Found their "hiring painters" flyer on our car leaving an event. The event was held entirely on private property and someone from this company (name on the flyer is Alina Kubicz) thought they would put flyers on every car in the lot. Unfortunately for them, the event was not full of high school/college aged people, whom they claim they are trying to recruit. In fact the demographic for this event was mostly adults with small kids and more seasoned individuals. If this is how they try to find employees, I would be very leery as to the quality of work. These guys are not professionals and does a terrible work & very poor execution. Will not recommend at all. Update : The review is not about the bad wood. I will go in detail. The same has been already explained to the person called me from this company. The existing paint were not scrubbed of from the peeled area & they just went over it. There were lot of spills, they claim it was already there-which is incorrect. Lot of places were missed, I had to check & point out, re-do. They didn't check the wood thoroughly for the condition before painting-I already spent 3 grands to replace the rotten bay window sides, they find another one in a missed area post I finished everything. I am unable to get a contractor every time & it costs money even for a small patch. The primer was not applied to fresh wood, even though it was requested. the new paint faded within 3 days, I had to point out & apply the primer+ paint again. They were fast, courteous and did a good job. Only complaint I have is about the pricing, which I am sure is not set by the workers! To paint a flat, square deck (sand and prep first, of course) was about $1000. Which was fine. To have a second coat added was almost another $800 ... which is ridiculous. I bought a gallon of paint (used about half of it) and did the second coat in about an hour... But, the workers were good, fast and pleasant. They did a good job on the prep and first coat. This organization is in the neighborhood painting a neighbor's house. They leave lawn signs all over the neighborhood on town property, making the neighborhood look like their personal advertising space. I've also noticed that they leave their ladders leaning against the neighbor's house or on the lawn for days where they will kill the grass. They seem to be taking a very long time and I never see anybody actually painting the house. read more

Terrible experience! I was quoted a price accepted the contract, gave my deposit and was totally ignored for well over a month. She finally answered my call to be told that the job was transferred to another manager who came by to tell us that the job was underbid and wanted more money! Not acceptable poor experienced staff!! I asked to have my enclosed deck stained, exact color was way off then they wanted a charge for a color change, they claim I asked for just the railing and spindles only. They didn't paint my garage door claim I told them not too. They charged to paint windows trim when the trim made of azek. They ended up finishing staining on the deck because they didn't paint window trim. They stole our ladder and we have called twice so far no ladder returned. read more

Horrible!! The worst contractors EVER! Had to come back 3 times to correct sloppy job. Midway through job, told me I'd need 2 coats of paint on 3 sides of house - extra $1100. What could I do? I paid up. It's debatable whether they even did second coat - they missed the same areas the second go around as they did the first go around. I should have done my homework on this outfit but didn't because they were college age kids looking for college money .... Although the manager was a real fast talker - tried to tell me I didn't have things in my contract that he'd written himself!!!!! I would beware of these guys. While they were certainly affable, hard working and responsive, the end result was less than ideal. I gave them a shot because of the price and because it was only doing outside trim but boy did I learn my lesson. Specifically I had the following issues: - they clearly underestimated the time / labor to do the job and as a result were at the house for twice as long and rushed through the job, including painting while it rained and not doing the # of coats they promised. - they cleaned all their gear every day on my grass (!) and killed a big patch of it - the clean up was horrible. There were paint chips EVERYWHERE (roof / beds/ lawn/ deck) and it took weeks to clean it up. Beyond that - their response to my complaints has been sluggish and not proactive to say the least. Again - I liked the team but at the end of the day they are not professional painters. Beware! read more

What we got was a flaking deck after 6 months, followed by lies and terrible customer service. - I had to have them come back THREE times to fix mistakes and poor quality finishing - The paint on every part of the deck is flaking and now looks worse than it was before the painting - The manager came to look at it and admitted the work was very poor and that it shouldn't have happened - However, he then said nothing can be done about it! - Excuse #1: "its New England" - Excuse #2: "we don't warrantee our deck work" The bottom line is this: the price looks good, the before and after images are cherry-picked and don't show deterioration, but the end result is worse than doing nothing at all. I am late doing this review, but after yet another surprise decided it was past time. If you want your house to be painted by amateurs, who are sloppy, don't care about the work they are doing and do a very bad job - then this is the way to go. Prior to them starting I spoke specifically about the need for caulking and pointed out some examples. When they "finished" no caulking had been done. I reminded them of the conversation and said they needed to caulk. After they went back and caulked, it was clear to me the kid had no idea what he was doing, and I didn't push that issue any further. I had paint all over the cement on the front porch, walkway, driveway, etc. Had to rent a power-washer to get it off. There are TONS of spots they missed. I can walk all around the house and see the old color everywhere. One huge spot they missed I could only see a week after they left. It was on the second story and if you are close to the house then you don't notice it. I went for a walk one day, and walking back to the house about 40 yards away I saw about an 18"x6" section they missed When they painted the front and rear doors, they only painted the front. So when you open the doors you see the old color on the edges of the doors. The recent surprise I had is I changed out the numbers over my garage door. They were brass and fading and getting hard to see, so I bought some new numbers. When I went to put them up I learned that they didn't unscrew the numbers when they painted and instead painted around them. This meant I had to match the paint, and paint where the old numbers were so I could put the new numbers up. When I hired them, I thought "I need my house painted, these are college kids getting work experience, and they are less expensive than everyone else - I will give them a shot". My first paint job on the house lasted 18 years. I am now looking for a professional painter 2 years after student painters made a mess and did an EXTREMELY POOR job. Do yourself a favor and hire a professional who knows what they are doing, cares about the state they leave your house in and won't leave your house a mess. You may spend a bit more in the short term, but will actually add value to your house vs. ruin it. read more

Do not hire this company! My 80 year old father with Parkinson's hired them to paint a rental property. Given that their price was the lowest, we did not expect it to be perfect, but they flat out skipped painting glaring sections. After management promised to come back to fix it, they changed their mind when most kids went back to college. My issue is that they did $4200 in damage to my car and refuse to provide me with their insurance information. That's illegal in case anyone reading this was wondering. The "manager" had an attitude from the moment she stepped foot on my property- but I wasn't hiring her to be my friend I wanted my house painted. The boys that were working on my house were as sweet as can be and I really hate that they are grouped in this whole mess. I really just want to get their insurance and move on. My suggestion is to get their insurance information before you let them step foot on your prop *Im not really sure what other evidence you need that the painters damaged my car.
