I found Student Tutor about 6 years ago when my daughter was struggling to get through the 8th grade. With her tutor helping her twice weekly, we watched my daughters grade go higher along with her confidence level. We continued to use them throughout her High School years and watched her graduate with her class. Student Tutor made our lives easier and took the unnecessary stress off our daughter so she could enjoy her High School experience. As for today, my 13 year old son has started the 7th grade and we have a wonderful student tutor helping him with his weekly assignments. Whether he has homework or not, I love that his tutor continues to work with him on his organizational skills. She will spend the entire session doing homework review, she will help him empty and organize his backpack, and while doing that, low and behold, she seems to find assignments that he would have missed otherwise. His confidence is through the roof and he is currently pulling A's and B's with the occasional C grade. He is loving school now. My son missed school on Monday and came home Tuesday overwhelmed with an immense amount of homework. I called Jesse at 5:30pm. He was able to have a tutor come over that same evening at 7:45pm to help my son with his 7 assignments that were due the next day. She stayed until all of his homework was complete. My 9th grade son started with My Student Tutor about a month ago, and to say it has been a positive experience would be a profound understatement. His tutor, from the moment he met my son, has made an above and beyond effort to connect with our son and get to know him and exactly what he needs. It is obvious that the tutor's commitment to really being an advocate for his students and helping them to grow wings for themselves is a top priority. My daughter missed a lot of school due to a soccer injury and seemed to have particular trouble with test taking strategies. She had a few C's for the first time ever. I was impressed with our tutor and the online tools available and have particularly enjoyed the milestone check-ins and lack of pressure when we wanted to take a hiatus (she now has all A's but you know how high school is). What really helped beyond 'someone relatable who's not my parent' giving you good advice (and they had some new goodies) was that Ari never missed an appointment and really became an accountability partner for our daughter (so we didn't have to hound her about how much she still had left to do, etc.) A lot of it was breaking down a huge hurdle into manageable pieces and working it through diligently and logically - a life skill to be sure. I can't necessarily review our services of course because I'm not a client but I can attest to the way Student-Tutor treats their employees. We were so pleased with the immediate impact Student-tutor had with our son. We signed him up while in 7th grade for math help. Our tutor, Nathan, immediately connected with our son and had him interacting and asking questions and looking forward to the twice weekly sessions I set up(in our home). His grade was at 69% when we signed him up, it immediately improved to 88%. We were fortunate that our same tutor was available this year when school started and he not only tutored him in math again but in all other subjects and provided study skills, too. The only reason we are not continuing with this great and affordable service is that we are moving out of state during the Holiday break. My experience with Student Tutor has been AMAZING!! To begin with Jesse the Office Manager, is so nice and very hekpful, these tutors are not just tutors they are real people with an outlook to making sure that your child gets the BEST support. I have been with them for almost 2 years, and they have really helped my daughter get better grades. We started out with a male tutor who was wonderful, but he had to leave the Company, and now we have a female tutor, who is as sweet as can be!! We started using Student-Tutor mid-year through our daughter's sophomore school year when she was failing math and falling behind in her other subjects. The tutor that was assigned to our daughter was very accommodating with her schedule and helped her get organized while improving her grades to a 'B' versus failing over the next year and a half while teaching her to use an activity planner to help her stay organized and on top of her homework and assignments. We signed up for the SAT prep, but we didn't go through all the program because it was not a good fit for my daughter.
