I knew I didn't want to do Kumon because he already had so much regular homework that more at-home work would be impossible. I was impressed from the very start. We went in for a free assessment and free first two sessions (we had a Groupon). Suchita (the owner) was SO nice! She did a thorough assessment, even breaking it into two assessment sessions. She was able to provide a detailed report showing which concepts he understood and which concepts he did not quite have. Suchita created a personalized plan that targeted those weak areas. What I truly appreciated was that she never gave me a hard sell (unlike a lot of tutoring places). She suggested different options, but didn't press a long-term commitment or more expensive options. One of the best things about Mathnasium is that you don't have pre-scheduled times (you don't have to call to cancel or reschedule or race to get there by a certain time)! Since I work and my kids have after school activities, that flexibility was a HUGE bonus! The tutors were all excellent and friendly. My son didn't have a bad experience with any of them and he really liked talking with them because they were "nice and patient." The kids are given stamps for completing worksheets, which they can trade in for prizes, including gift cards. This was highly motivating for my son. After one month, my son's grades on his math tests had improved an entire grade and he definitely felt more confident in his math abilities. I would highly recommend Mathnasium of Gilbert!

Austin has a wonderful program that is tailored to each child, where they are at, and taking into account the gaps they need to fill. We've tried other tutoring places in the past and most seem like a money mill vs a true tutoring/learning center. No motivation or check on the kids to do more work. During some sessions my kid was sitting there barely did any work which they documented but never questioned why he did do one page in 60 mins session or he needed help and nobody motivated him to do more. Another Disappointing point was when we were near the end of our commitment period the owner didn't show any interest or enthusiasm in showing us the results of assessment what he learned and the future plan just sent us an email with some numbers and vague topics. I think they they are too busy to care about losing one kid. Won't be continuing thoroughly disappointed in the lack of learning and non professional behavior.

My eldest son attended this program at this facility between the ages of 10 and 15 years -Four times per week with no other math training during this time. He entered college at age 15 in Math150 college algebra. At age 18, he is now done with all of his mathematics required for his bio chemical engineering degree. It's not about repetitive memorization. It's not about lectures. It's about a system of mathematics and a system of learning. It's about kind and positive people trying to lift other people.
