I just used Studio 116 for my wedding and I had really mixed/bad feelings about how they left the wedding/discussion afterwards. I ordered uplights from Studio 116 at a great price and was really psyched about the customer service. They set up the lights on time and that was nice and easy. HOWEVER, the color was NOT what i asked for. I sent them pictures several times (the same one) of which color I wanted. They said they could do it and that they were all set to go. I emailed them 2x before the wedding just to check in with the picture. Again...they said it was good to go. When I saw the lights at the reception, I was LIVID. It was NO WHERE NEAR the color they were supposed to be and it really overshadowed all the decorations I had and the pictures. This ugly color is all you see in all my wedding pictures. When I emailed to ask about what happened, Johnny had the nerve to blame my wedding coordinator and my DAD! uh...they don't have anything to do with it. My dad would have had NO IDEA what color I wanted since he wasn't involved in my conversation with Studio 116. They asked him if the wedding went well and he said Yes. DUH. It had nothing to do with the light color/shade that he knew nothing about. As for my coordinator, I trusted Studio 116 so much that I didn't tell her EXACTLY what shade the lights had to be. I checked with Johnny several times and he assured me the color in the picture was what they would bring. When I complained that the color was wrong, he said it was my wedding coordinator's fault for not double checking. This was NOT her fault that Studio 116 didn't bring the correct color gel. NO WAY. I trusted this company to provide a service that I paid for months in advance. I communicated with them several times after the payment with the picture of the color lights I wanted and they assured me this was all good to go. It is not my dad's or the wedding coordinator's responsibility to make sure they do their job well. This company was really disappointing and I wouldn't recommend using them unless you can 100% verify you're getting the color and service you wanted. Even through email, there was no resolution from Johnny except to blame my dad/coordinator. Then in his email back to me, he said they only had 2 gel colors in pink and this was the lightest color they had. Had he explained that to me 6 months ago, I would have chosen another shade or decided not to go with the company. I felt really tricked that they promised me a color but then told me afterwards that they didn't have it. I was REALLY sad about the wedding uplight colors, my reception and the way that it all turned out. This was supposed to be the best night of my life, but now I permanently have the ugliest uplight color in the background of all of my photos. The service was great over email, but it doesn't make up for the disappointing results and service after my wedding. I would recommend using another company for sure. Your wedding only happens once, and this was the worst experience ever. There was no real apology except for the one that came in the same email as the one where they blamed us as well. Please take the $600+ and go with a company that actually delivers great service. read more

This company is complete trash I sat in the phone for 20 mins gave my credit card etc and 70$ a carpet 70$ a light and yet u blind side with a nasty comment and a 600$ charge. Classy. This man had the audacity to say wow if you can't afford a $600 deposit then you can't afford to buy lights funny considering our initial conversation was that the payment was for $200 to do a rental he blindsides me with a $600 charge and then has an arrogant remark like that overpriced and tries to charge $200 for pick up and drop off I don't know what person even says something like that super professional you have no idea who your talking to over the phone. read more

We used Studio 116 for our Swim Show at the Skirball Cultural Centre in Los Angeles and I could not be more pleased with the service we received. Cody was extremely helpful and responsive in our planning communication. Definitely very easy and kind. Having a customized runway and flats walls design really was the perfect touch to enhance the venue even more. Studio 116 set up the day before of the event (Fashion Show), our custom stage design was done on time, next day the company was still on top of every detail need it. Everything was covered even some extra things that we needed it the last minute and deliver it on time for the show to make everything looks perfect. The Venue looked BEAUTIFUL and guest were please to see such a great job, lighting,projectors, stage, sound,red carpet was all cover by Studio 116 with professionalism and knowledge. To ensure our event was a success, Tyler and Cody were extremely hands on to make sure we had the proper staging, back drop, sound, and electricity. On the day of the event, Studio 116 maintained professionalism from the beginning to end. They were timely, personable and a pleasure to work with. My now husband and I decided 2 months prior to our wedding date that we wanted lighting at our wedding for post celebratory dancing. Typically stuff like this should be booked waaaaaaaay in advance, but they worked really well to accomodate our needs that were semi-last minute. Their customer service was excellent and they were always on top of things. I believe for lighting and a screen rental for the whole night the total was less than 200. Their website lists different packages that you can choose from and it's really affordable. If I didn't know someone to hook sound and stuff up I would have rented from them. On the day of the wedding, they showed up on time and set everything up. The only negative was that they forgot the screen. However, the guy they sent out was incredibly apologetic and brought it within an hour or so just before the banquet started. Hence, minus one star. =( The company is it Tujunga (wherever that is) and my banquet was in Cerritos and despite the distance, they still delivered at no cost... even for such a small order! They also was at the venue at the end of the night to pick up the equipment. They have different packages like an ipod dj package, lighting, video, projector, sound, etc. Their website is pretty detailed in what they offer. But even if they don't have something that you specifically want or the combination of equipment that you want, you can always ask. Overall a very very positive experience. read more

Recently ordered the ipod package and the package with a projector and screen for my wedding (for several slideshows/videos). Johnny helped book my reservation and throughout the whole process he was incredibly helpful and friendly (thanks Johnny!!) I was not able to be at the venue when they were setting up the sound equipment and projector/screen (as I was busy getting married at the moment) but when we got to the reception, everything was ready and setup and they were incredibly effecient. Then after it was all over we didn't have to do anything. they just came and took it all down. Extremely easy to work with and their equipment was top notch! Within minutes, I received a response from Scott who assured me they had everything in our order (2 lights and a small red carpet), for a price that was exactly what we needed it to be! Within the next hour, our order was final, and my pick-up time was scheduled (this truly gave me a piece of mind that was priceless). My supervisor went to pick everything up, and when she arrived at our event venue, she raved about the customer service. She was walked through set-up, and we were given ample time to return everything. Customer service and efficiency are two things that are extremely rare these days, and Studio 116 went above and beyond in both of them. Tyler was great to work with during the quoting process, helping me find the right lighting package for the scale of our event, and at an affordable price. I really appreciated that he didn't try to push anything extra on me. Scott was our technician the day of our event and was prompt and extremely helpful. This was my first time setting up lighting for an event, and Scott was great with his recommendations on where to place everything and ideal colors for the venue and atmosphere. We've used Studio 116 for several of our events, all around Southern California. Last minute or way in advance they are always awesome to work with. The last event we had, the tech stayed and smoothed out every little wrinkle or distortion I could possibly find, to make sure the step & repeat was absolutely flawless for our event. They did the lighting for my wedding. Cody was great in the process of getting a quote and working within our budget. He gave us advice and was very helpful designing the light concept to what we needed. Before the wedding they went and inspected the venue to ensure they had everything under control for the day. I used Studio 116 for a red carpet "Step and Repeat" banner just like the banners you'll see at red carpet event. It was a last minute idea and a last minute order. Scott was excellent, he listened and understood what I wanted. Gave us more than we expected with our budget. It was a major hit at the party, in my opinion, better than a "photo booth". He understood what I needed right away which was to rent a lavalier mic(I am not tech savvy but he deciphered what I needed and advised about added items), gave me the quote in a minute, knowledgeable and we did the transaction in just a few minutes. I had been on the phone with another company and was on hold for ages, passed to different departments "oh that is not my department let me transfer you" until I finally hung up.
