On the day of, Ricky arrived much EARLIER than we paid for, because he wanted to capture as much of the getting ready process as possible. We're super grateful for this, and he got tons of great photos we would not otherwise have! From the moment he walked into our hotel suite, he was all action, camera out, and ready to take photos. For this day, and for all of our other shoots with Sweet Mango, he gave great directions on how to pose for photos, was so creative with how he framed his shots, and flexible and adapted to the sun/weather/background and whatever other obstacles may come his way. Even though we did not get a second shooter and he single handedly had to cover the entire venue and all 100 guests at our event, including an entire lion dance troupe, he rose to the occasion and did just that and much more. I had recently hired Cassie to capture my girlfriends' surprise party, and let me tell you, I am still in awe. From the moment I contacted Cassie, with my absurdly redundant, and overly anal-borderline-psychotic ideas and instructions, she made it clear as day, that she will make it happen. She showed up at the event space with her full gear an hour early to set-up her gear, photo-booth, and get a feel for the space and lighting. When my girlfriend and I arrived, all of our guests had already been well acquainted with Cassie - and as our door opened, the party roared, "SURPRISE"! and out popped Cassie like a paparazzi and *FLASH* *FLASH*. For the next 4 hours, Cassie didn't miss a thing. She was EVERYWHERE, but at the same time, nowhere. I mean, I don't recall her ever being in the way, or stopping/nagging anyone to pose for pictures or anything - but she was clearly there... All 500 photo's I received are proof of this. Which is another thing that blows my mind. I know with previous photographers, generally only 5-10% of the photos they take, are useable and nice-looking photo's. Cassie sent me 500, yes 500, INCREDIBLE photos. Every photo could be an album cover photo... I sent the photos to everyone who attended the party, and everyone was absolutely amazed. The reactions to the photos, brings back every ounce of laughter we experienced the night of. This is exactly what a photograph should do. These aren't photos you can get anywhere else. You cannot get photos like this from your iPhone. You cannot get photos like this from your Canon 5D. You cannot get photos like this from most other photographers out there. What separates Cassie and her art from everyone else is her passion. You can tell every single hire she gets, is an adventure. I saw it that night, and I see it in every photo she took. From our first meeting I was very comfortable working with her. She has the kind of personality that is professional, yet very friendly and approachable. She came to our apartment for our first consultation and patiently listened to all of my preferences for photo's that I was most interested in having captured on our special day. The day of the wedding she was absolutely great! She met up with my husband and his groomsmen and took a bunch of great shots of their group. It was a perfect mixture of candid, serious, and funny/casual poses. Before the wedding while I was getting ready, she was great at running between where my bridal party was getting ready and where my husband and his groomsmen were, in order to capture as many photo's as possible. The entire day I was completely comfortable and relaxed, knowing she was doing a great job. On proposal day, she worked with my friend to make sure that the area was perfect and set up very nice for the proposal! She captured all of the moments perfectly with a very keen eye for detail! She even brought some awesome props too. She got everything done in a very timely manner and was patient when some of our friends wanted to take some extra pictures. The price was reasonable and it included 3 photographers for our whole day (ended up being close to a 10 hour day for them), a photo booth at our reception, all the digitals of the pictures, and a coffee table book. They also do video, but we opted out of that. The photos they take are superb and the edited images were amazing. I think we had around 2000 photos and the owner edited them and had them to us within 6 weeks. We also were given the rights to all those photos so we could share them with family and friends. On the wedding day, they were punctual, got all the shots we wanted, and made sure we didn't get off track. The owner, Mou, made sure to keep our families under control so that we could get the shots we wanted. Never did it seem like they were running their own agenda. They were always on our agenda and time-line. Mou's brother and husband were also taking photos while getting ready, during the ceremony, and reception and both of them did great. Bottom line is, if you want a photographer that will take amazing photos, listen to your needs, and provide amazing customer service (they always answered calls and emails within a day or so) go with PhotosMadeEz. I purchased a service for her through Groupon, checked up on her webpage and facebook page, didn't seem to see any negative reviews, and we needed a photographer in that area, so I thought her deal sounded great. (A roughly one hour session at a local park for $79, outfit changes if we wanted, and I would receive a copy of all raw images, from which she would edit five...) The initial apt set up was ok, but from then on, communication was a HASSLE. I had to call HER the day of our apt to confirm the appointment... It was raining on and off that day, so we decided to speak at 2 in the afternoon to decide if we were able to do the photos or not... I didn't hear from her, tried to call her a couple of times and heard nothing back... Until 4:15, when she called and said I'll be at the park in 15 mintues... We had expressed that we were staying 30 minutes from the park, and she gave us NO time to be ready... When we reached the park, she wasn't there... She went to THE WRONG PARK, even though I had confirmed the park with her... The entire photo session she was MUCH more concerned with her camera getting wet (mind you it didn't rain the entire time), then she was about capturing our family moments... Which shows in the pictures, because lets be honest, she missed 98% of the things a photographer would capture... She claims on her groupons to win awards for child photography... Not ONE good picture of my toddler, whose "essence" I can capture on my smartphone. I cried when I saw the pictures, they were just sad... The experience was horrible, my husband and I were so stressed out by her by the time we got to the right place that we nearly canceled... My assumption is she isn't really interested in doing a good job for groupons because people aren't paying full price... She is constantly posting "sneak peaks" and session photos on her facebook, and I sat and waited for ours to pop up and they never did- probably because they were so sub-par... Must I also mention that we are military from out of town and my husband doesn't have many chances to see his son, so these pictures were meant to be a special way for them to both remember each other... Which she failed to do for us as a family and for my husband and son... I find her actions to be completely disrespectful on a personal level, as well as blatant disrespect and disregard for military personnel... On another note, we had brought cupcakes with us as a cute little prop and reward for the toddler who had done a great job dealing with all of her nonsense... She looked at me and said "I don't get your vision for this." Are we serious? I have to explain to an artist that i want cute pictures of my husband and his son eating cupcakes together (which is one of their favorite things) and you don't get an artistic vision for this? This also shows in the photos, they aren't good, didn't capture the moment, and were a pure disappointment... Isn't photography about being artistic??? She also brought her husband and daughter with her, which I have no problem with, but halfway through the photo session, they walked right through our group and distracted our toddler- to me, this is rude. I did receive the RAW images from her, but when I told her which images I would like her to edit, she wouldn't respond... A month later I contacted groupon, who was VERY quick to give my money back... I still haven't heard from her...
