This workout is AMAZING! And the instructors at MegaBurn are seriously the best! Everyone is so sweet. I was so intimidated at first because I have never used a machine like the Megaformer. First off, this studio is adorable! You can tell how much work the owners have put into the custom woodworking and MEGABURN marquee sign! Secondly, I've taken several classes from most of these instructors and not only are they really knowledgeable at what they do, they are not intimidating, they are always there to help, and they make working out fun! The most awesome, hardest workout I've ever done. The studio is adorable, nice, and clean. Don't let those megaformer machines fool you. They may look so innocent in a strange way, but they will make you scream from inside out. They will become your best friend and worst enemy. You'll definitely have a love-hate relationship with them. During class, you will feel like your muscles are about to pop out, and you you're sweating and dying, and may even think "what the hell am I doing to myself", but when the class is over, you crave for more. I got there a little early since it was my first time - Carolynn greeted me right away and I was able to buy some toe socks to wear. She introduced me to Ellie who then nicely gave me an intro to how the machines worked. The ladies on the neighboring Megaformers even welcomed me to the class! I went in knowing I was out of shape, but didn't expect to be getting my butt kicked 3 minutes in - dang! But Ellie keeps you moving and if you're determined, you'll make it. The 45 minutes is intense but goes by fast. Just when my brain was hitting me with the "no more" we were winding down. Also, because the classes are small, Ellie is able to make it over to each person and help with form when needed, and still demo many of the exercises for everyone. I've never been one to really exercise or commit to group classes but after my first class I couldn't stop coming back. If you haven't tried MegaBurn you have to! You'd be amazed at the amount of strength your body can hold and move you. I've definitely had a flash of falling on my face but these instructors know exactly what position is going to keep you stable and if something doesn't feel right, they're so on top of making sure there's a modification you can do. I love MegaBurn. I have done reformer classes in the past and loved the workout and was so happy to find a studio close to my house. The instructors are awesome- motivating and empowering. After starting to come here I found out I was pregnant and Carolynn has been awesome with modifications for my pregnancy. She always checks in on how I'm feeling and lets me know at the beginning of each class where I may need to modify. I'm still going here at 7 months pregnant and feeling great.
