I have been attending Adapt for almost a year and I can't recommend it highly enough. I have been able to return to running pain free and am moving so much better and am getting stronger! Amazing team and so supportive! This is the gym you go to for long term health- their focus is functional movement - if you are looking for a singular goal - like a Kardashian booty - this might not be the place for you. If you are looking for overall strength, mobility and movement for a lifetime - this is the place. There are people who have been going here for 10+ years. Lots of grey hairs and people moving well and strength training long into 60's, 70s and beyond. That inspires me and I want to be moving that well at that age! Training with Jessica Ho- The blind leading the blind I didn't realize how terrible my experience at Adapt was until I left and hired a trainer who is actually qualified to assist me with my goals. I've learned a lot about this industry and about what makes a good trainer both from my experience working with Jessica and from my experience with my new trainer. From what I understand, the bar to entry to become a trainer is quite low. This ends up meaning that many of us clients are unsuspecting guinea pigs for unqualified trainers. This is really frustrating when you're paying a considerable amount of money and putting a lot of trust in someone. I worked with Jessica for several months- a trainer that I now can confidently say is in DESPERATE need of a trainer of her own. I got absolutely no results whatsoever. I came to her with the goal of building strength overall, shaping my glutes, and toning my body. While I had some reservations seeing as those goals are obviously not ones she has accomplished on her own, I hired her anyway because I didn't know any better. I now understand that if a trainer hasn't accomplished those goals on their own, they are really not an authority to help you do that either. In the time I worked with her my metrics did not change at all. My strength increased very minimally. My weight and measurements did not budge. In only a month with a new trainer I have experienced greater results and learned more than in the entire time I worked with Jessica. I found Jessica's training to be ineffective, unimaginative, and a complete waste of money. She is spacy, communicates poorly, and seems way more invested in herself than in her clients. Nutrition, which I now understand to be a huge factor in attaining the results I want, was not even a blip on her radar. She has absolutely no knowledge of how to build glutes, which was my main objective. It's frustrating to me that someone can become a trainer simply because THEY enjoy working out, regardless of whether or not they are actually qualified to assist you with your goals. I'm frustrated that I wasted so much time and money, and that Adapt feels it's okay to pair very unqualified trainers with unsuspecting clients. When hiring a trainer to help you build a great body, I now DO believe it is fair to examine THIER body as evidence that they actually know how to do this. They are a walking reflection of their training knowledge and ability to help you get where you want to be. I now understand this. Training with Jessica is very much exemplary of the blind leading the blind. She has absolutely no knowledge whatsoever when it comes to body recomposition or building strength. I've hurt myself with a few really stupid accidents and someone recommended ADAPT to me. They're a bit more expensive than I can regularly attend, but they recently did a Groupon which I took advantage of. My favorite thing about the personal training here is that they give you workouts that make sense for you to do between sessions. I feel like Eric really listened to my concerns and is actually helping me recover from my injuries and work in ways that prevent new injuries. I can be athletically intense, to the detriment of my body. The ADAPT workouts really focus on my issues and the healthy way for me to push hard, without causing myself further injury. If I could figure out a way to budget for regular PT sessions here, this would be my regular gym. read more

I am absolutely in love with ADAPT Training. After a lifetime of various injuries, from achilles to shoulders, I was in constant pain and unable to most of my favorite sports at the mere age of 24. I have never been able to sit still long enough to allow injuries to heal (which came back to bite me) and other methods of physical therapy never seemed to work so I would just get bored and stop. I spent two and a half months doing private physical therapy sessions before moving into classes. The private sessions were always constructive and the full body/integration exercises are much more effective than the band//muscle-isolation exercises I was used to being assigned by other physical therapists. They even take pictures of your body's alignment at the beginning of each session so you can see the progress over the weeks. After the private sessions I "graduated" into the ADAPT classes. I've never been a fan of other gym classes I have tried, but I had come this far, and I had a groupon. So why not? The first class I ever went to was an integration class and I have been hooked ever since. There's not a lot I will pop out of bed at 5:30 a.m. for, but I have no problem getting up for the 6 a.m. strength and integration classes, and the range class is nice to throw in on occasion, too. Every class is different and far from boring! Overall, my body feels better than it ever and I am in the best shape I have ever been in. My knee pain and shoulder pains are a thing of the past. The staff is all friendly and supportive and the other patrons are welcoming. I continually recommend this place to anyone looking to fix an injury or just have some fun and get in better shape. read more

I love going to Adapt. I don't always get to make it in (it seems like each class I go to I see a lot of the same people, so it seems like most people are regulars). I have only been to the integrated classes and the strength classes monday through thursday and I've only been to the noon and six pm classes. The classes are great. They really modify the movements and keep you motivated so that you don't plateau. They have a great community of exercisers and I know the classes will always challenge me, but not take me too far out of my comfort zone. The later classes usually go a couple minutes over time and the earlier classes generally get out a few minutes early. Also, this isn't the kind of place with a bunch of meat-heads fake benching or squatting incorrectly. Most of the people here seem to really want to lead a healthful lifestyle. That said, I have only met a few young twenty-somethings, most people are a bit older (but not OLD, just not twenty something). Since new year they have also started some new classes, which I haven't tried yet so I will update my review when I get a chance to do those. All in all I love this fitness center, and will continue to go as long as I live around here. read more

The advanced therapy department and Ali the massage therapist are all amazing at Adapt. They are professional, genuinely caring and go above and beyond to help their clients feel comfortable and safe. I feel so greatful and blessed that this business exists to help SCI and other clients with neurological disorders. They are not like other physical therapy companies, that just tell you to do a exercise. They actually get on their hands and knees to help you with range of motion and other exercises that you would not be able to do on your own. read more

I'm a member at multiple gyms and I try to work out on a regular basis but I can never push myself as hard as they push me in that hour I'm there. Great training, this is not your normal gym and it's not a crappy cross fit place this is where you go for intense training to stay on top of you injuries range of motion and to just plain stay in shape. Choreographed exercise routines help keep your body in shape. Coach Cassidy founded this place just after I graduated high school and I got the pleasure of doing this every summer with my teammates, I truly believe this was the reason we won state before it was cool. ALL the people who work there are friendly, helpful and skilled at keeping me and my workout classmates healthy and fit. I live near several fitness facilities, yet have chosen instead to drive 12 miles to Adapt for my workouts. It is well worth the drive, and I recommend it to everyone I know who is hoping to get fit, no matter their skill level. read more

I've been attending ADAPT for 11 months and have been very happy here. In the time I've been here, I've dropped 52 pounds and am probably in the best shape I've been in for 15 years, if not longer. The workouts are definitely challenging and the more intensity you bring with you, the better they get. They are also balanced and structured so you aren't just working the same few sets of muscles every time. Plus, I would much rather spend an hour of my life running around the gym climbing over and around things, running and jumping than on some hamster wheel of an exercise machine. The people- Honestly, the people here, staff and members, are great. Contrary to Celina G's remarks below, Kristen is actually a very nice person. The three trainers I've worked with most (Courtney, Kam and Megan) have all been very encouraging and very supportive. Equally important is they take the time to correct your form or help you modify it if you need to. The other members at the gym help make the experience good. When I first started coming to ADAPT, they made me feel welcome and encouraged me as I pushed myself through workout after workout. Once the results started showing, everyone was quick to compliment me on what I had done. ADAPT also has nutritional advice available. It's one of the core elements of the Burn Camp and the AFS. I attended Burn Camp this year and learned a lot of good things from it. In fact, I still apply a lot of what I learned on a daily basis and it definitely helps me maintain a fairly rigorous fitness regime now. I would highly recommend this business to anyone even thinking about it. read more

I started attending ADAPT fitness classes because of a groupon. I never would have signed up otherwise, but once I started my one month of fitness classes I was hooked. The have fitness classes, sports training, personal training (have seen someone doing boxing with a trainer lately), and physical therapy. They have a wheelchair rugby team! The fitness classes change every day. I've been going since June and I recall Mt. St. Helens day (don't step on the hot lava!), dodge ball day, etc. All classes seem very balanced for cardio, strength, and fun--but be prepared to work hard, although it's easy to work at your own level. The tall staircase will totally kick your arse. It's the first class that I've actually wished I could go every day. Seriously! They have fitness classes early in the AM, noon, and 6pm plus others. I belong to Bally's too and am tired of their lethargic instructors and limited class offerings. ADAPT will make you work hard with a group of people largely in their 30s or more and 50/50 men and women. They also have treadmills and other equipment available anytime they're open. There is no glamour here--just a good fun workout. Also, I've been impressed by the knowledge of the instructors. read more

I was introduced to ADAPT when I started suffering from runner's knee during undergrad. They got me back to running without pain and continue to be helpful anytime I come in with an issue, guiding me back to full functioning. The trainers are knowledgable and involved, the workouts are different every time, and the culture is supportive and fun. The emphasis on function and alignment create a structure for you to push yourself as hard as you want and find your body's best, without injury. I can't recommend this place highly enough! read more
