Wish I could rate 0 stars. My husband and I were visiting Texas and we went here with family to celebrate a birthday. We got bottle service, a table and plenty of beers for all 12 of us. The ambiance in the place is cool but a couple minutes after we finished our bottle my husband went to the bathroom and came back to get his wallet, when he returned from the bathroom again there was 3 security guards telling our group to leave.... we were all SO confused. I was barely tipsy and sharing a bottle of grey goose with TWELVE people doesn't do that much damage. We were escorted out and man handled. Me especially.. When I asked if I could have a phone # for the manager so I could call back later, a security guard grabbed my arm and pushed me towards the exit. Also want to add on that my husband is a gentleman who happens to be in the Navy (no one mentioned military is free) who had 2 drinks. He wanted to pay/tip the person in the bathroom and we were rushed out. We will never come here again and I will ALWAYS tell people to not waste their money here. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! read more

I usually remain in my stomping grounds (Dallas) when it comes to throwing back a few and "shaking what my mama gave me", but on this particular Saturday night, I decided to show Funky Town some love. This place is pretty cool if you're above 35...no offense but I fit right in due to my old soul. The music era is definitely old school eighties. Ordered a vodka tonic...not watery at all. The blonde haired waitress was very pleasant and damn good at her job. The entire place was just fun. The people were fun. The atmosphere was fun. The music was fun. Not the cleanest looking night club, but nothing that would prevent me from returning. The staff is extremely friendly. The DJs do an outstanding job of mixing old school with respectable new school. Apparently you have to remember the person you start a tab with in order to get your card back. When i asked to close out my tab and gave my last name it was a shit show. Obviously not a well managed place and when the manager realized we had a problem with the bartender, his wife, he got ugly real fast. Not how an establishment should be run. This was a fun place to go with my friends for a birthday night out. People watching opportunities here are ENDLESS. Crowd is definitely 40+. 80's dance music in one room, and 90's pop/hip hop in another. Easy access to the bars inside, friendly bartenders, etc. HOWEVER: if you are sensitive to strobe lights at all, this is not the place for you. The dj in the 80's room really, REALLY loves to use the strobe light and I spent half the time on the dance floor nauseous & covering my eyes. It's called "flicker vertigo". Management, the heavy strobe all night is not necessary & can actually trigger seizures in sensitive people. Think you could tone that part down just a bit? You could just use the laser effect & the other lights, maybe? Oh and also, toward the end of the night the huge crowd of VERY young teenagers (think 15/16 year olds) that were somehow allowed to come in & drink w/a crowd of "cool moms" (think Mean Girls) had my narc radar on high alert lol But otherwise... fun, friendly crowd & good times! read more

This place was great until management completely ruined our night. Pros: fun music, decent drinks, plenty of seating and waitstaff, lots of people dressed in 80s clothes but nobody cares if you don't. We were having a blast until some redneck looking guy told my husband that his wife was on the dance floor, doing something wrong (couldn't hear what). My husband tried telling him no, his wife is sitting on a couch, but it was too loud. My husband put his arm around the guy to help turn him to point at me. That's when the guy started yelling and kicked him out. Had to wait forever for our check, with security waiting to walk him out. This is my first time here and unfortunately I can't compare it to the old location that was caught in fire. I kept hearing everybody coming in that the place is more spacious than the other one. It is spacious with a huge dance floor and a lot of seating/tables that you can reserve for your party. The place is divided in to 3 rooms. Two downstairs and another one up the stairs. Both of which are spacious but not overwhelming. Service/bartenders are quick to respond to orders while the space is slammed with people. Great 80's music of different type. Hands down the best dance club in the entire Metroplex. '80's themed with additional '90's salon adjacent. The crowd runs the entire gamut of personage and simply put the camaraderie going on in here is infectious. Ft. Worth is as true Texas as it gets, so toss in a healthy sprinkle of '80's mindset and attire and it's just impossible to not make some new friends and have a great time. Management sets the stage donning classic '80's jackets, bartenders are super friendly and the dance floors get packed. Outside on the covered patio it's perfectly appointed with extra comfortable sofa & lounge chair conversation pits in abundance, all of which amply served with heaters & cooling, weather dictated... I've now been here on 3 different occasions over the past 4 months. Pros- great atmosphere, love the two music room/options Cons- bar service is slow/overworked/rude, bouncers are jerks, valet was 20, only one checker for men lined up/coat check, and the men were charged in my group when we had a VIP table. Overall, staff is crappy and act like they couldn't care less.... It's sort of the only game in (down)town so I don't know that there's any motivation by management to fix the above issues. read more

Studio Eighty, yes!! Classic 80s music makes for the best dancing, I tell ya. The energy here is fantastic and I'm loving the mixed demographics. People from all walks of life and ages are dancing and drinking and laughing together. Just being goofy, and that's the best. Except for the couple who was making out against the back wall - that was gross. It looks like this place has been here since even before the 80s. I mean.. It's not some fancy updated club, it's very low key and the decor and atmosphere are so casual and silly and fun. The Justin Bieber cardboard cutout at the door scared me, and all the flashing DJ lights might give you a headache, but it's probably impossible to walk through the doors and not have fun. The bar is long and skinny and it's pretty hard to maneuver around it when it's crowded, but people seem to be pretty friendly overall so we didn't have any issues saying "excuse me!" and squeezing through to the front. People are congregated everywhere and the dance floor is packed, so you've just gotta claim your own space and enjoy. On my last visit we were inspired to purchase the little VIP lounge which is set up on a small risen stage with a couple couches, a coffee table, and a tiny space for dancing. It typically is reserved for $250, but we were able to haggle with the manager and get it for $150, woohoo! He brought us a bottle of champagne and we had a serious blast dancing like idiots to magical forever-loved hits like Thriller, My Sharona, and Like A Virgin. They also have some great specials here, like drinks and burger for 88 cents... What?! I can't prove it because I didn't inquire, but that's what the sign said out front! This is an older crowd going to say late 30 to 40s and up. People post that this place is an 80s and 90s theme club. Yes they are right with a bit of early 2000 music. There are 2 floors never went upstairs that might be another floor. Lighting is good not to dark just enough light to see who you are bumping into. Good amount of people. It was 930 when me and my sisters friends came, it was for a bday party. I was shocked that there already had people inside dancing. I guess doors opened at 8. Some people dressed up in 80s theme but it's not required. Drinks tasted like they were water down alchohol I'm a very light weight and had about 6 shoots and wasnt really feeling anything. Bathrooms clean but need some remodeling. Music if one room was 80s the other room should be 90s but that wasnt the case 2nd room had some of the same music as the first room,main floor. One thing I did like was that 2nd room smaller room they played a little bit of spanish music pitbull, elvis crespo. It was fun. But must warn you it is a older crowd so if you are young want to dance to 80s go if you are young and want to socialize with your age most like not. I'm not from TX so club scene is new to me. It's true, they over charge your credit card... it's called fraud. I paid $44 for drinks and tipped $6, my card was charged $60.00. Obviously that math doesn't add up. private event. we had 8 people but only 7 tickets for entry so they wouldn't let 1 in so that's legit. when the party host came to give us another ticket - the ticket taker who claimed he was the owner said that it couldn't work that way and still wouldn't allow 1 in. Right before that, he took 1 entrance ticket from our person that was waiting with the 1 without a ticket. he then wouldn't let her have her ticket back to get in and lied and said he didn't take it. someone said - dude, you took her ticket and he lost his mind and said - I'm not a dude, I own this club and you're never getting in. what a clown! not to mention he had a sparkly bugs bunny shirt on. you can't make this kind of crazy up!!! read more

My first time at Studio 80 and I liked 1. Music/dj, music was great all through the end. 2.dance floor is a great size!! 3. Washrooms are clean and stocked. 4. Lots of places to sit comfortably. 5. There's nearby free or inexpensive parking. Didn't like: 1. They need more bartenders. It took such a long time to get a drink. I saw a server on the floor twice and only that one server. 2. Beer is too high. For example a bottle of michelob ultra wax $5.75 yikes. I had three plus tips that was $22 for three... domestics should at least be $4.00 3. Entrance is not to clear. There's a side door and although they are kind when they point you to the entrance they may consider getting a sign. I went with a group of about twenty and we all danced most of the night. Just saw a copy of the receipt they sent to my credit card company and they charged someone else's drinks on my card and the signature wasn't mine. I came here ready to have a good time after a long mission. After giving my ID and receiving a thank you for your service from the bouncer he proceeded to tell me I couldn't come in because I was wearing a "white t-shirt". I have been clubbing for years all around the US and Europe and I have never heard of such an idiotic rule in my life. What does a white T-shirt have to do with anything? I was wearing a beige T-shirt with white pipping detail, it was not white. After he pointed out the sign at the entrance with all the rules I noticed one of them was no flip flops. If we have to follow the rules why did he let in the 2 girls in front of me? One was wearing black and pink Nike flip-flops and the other one black and green crocks with a plain white tank top. The owner wrote in a previous one-star review and I quote" Our dress code is enforced uniformly to maintain a certain ambiance within the club". Doesn't seem like that Macy. I've been going to Studio 80 for a long time now. I've always loved it. This past Friday night was no exception. We were met at the door by an energetic host wearing an Awesome Pacman suit! He asked if we were there for an occasion (which we were... my hub's birthday). He didn't even flinch whenever we said we were expecting abt 20. We had a GREAT location for our tables and our host even made special birthday signs to reserve our tables until all of our party arrived. He went above and beyond by putting a happy birthday message on the video screens for us. WOW!!! Talk about hospitality! Our host came by frequently to check on us and joke around for a bit. We loved him. The night really picked up around 10:30 pm and the dance floor was full. Although there were a LOT of people there, it never felt too crowded. We could freely move between the 80s and 90s bars and get to the restrooms easily. Our bar bill was quite reasonable (under $80) and we REALLY celebrated. Our server was very attentive and took good care of us. I highly recommend Studio 80 and the awesome hospitality of its staff. read more

1 Star is not even deserved for the kind of terrible service we received. Our party arrived at 8PM. Our waitress was very visibly trashed. She spilled our order all over herself and our table, the first time she served us. Throughout the evening, she continued making huge mistakes because she was drunk. She charged a person's card for drinks that she was specifically instructed not to. My husband ordered a bucket of beer around 8:30, well before happy hour was over. It took about 20 minutes to get our bucket, but still before 9. Then it took another 30 minutes or so for her to tell us what our total was for the bucket (since we had already read some reviews about people being charged for more than they drank, we told her that we did not want to run a tab, and we would pay as we go). At this time, it was well after 9pm, when happy hour ended. She tried to charge us $28 for our bucket, when happy hour price would have been $15. My husband refused to pay it on the premise that we ordered well before 9. He went to the bar to get it settled. She ended up coming back over to my husband and saying, "if you don't pay the $28, you're going to cost me $13". Very incredibly unprofessional. The bar/managers wouldn't even do anything about it. The atmosphere at this cool little joint is great. The music and entertainers are amazing, but unfortunately, the people who work there ruined our entire experience. read more

I went here when it was Vee lounge and I like the way they redecorated it and made use of the space. The loft on the second floor is a nice touch for when you want to just sit down and actually hear each other talk. I also like that they have a second room where they play a mixture of 80s, 90s, and modern hits. My only complaint is that the drinks are too pricey, especially for wells. And to have fun here you need to be drinking! Also a majority of the bartenders were slow and not the most friendly. But that seems to be typical for clubs. read more

Arrived at this place around 745 on Saturday. They were happy to take our $10 cover but failed to mention that EVERY table was reserved and you would have to stand and hold your drink all night. They could have at least left the tables around the bar open for seating. The manager has a cocky attitude and you can tell he is all about the money and not customer service. This place would rather reserve EVERY table for bottle service/wait staff than take care of normal paying customers. Once upon a time last night, we hit a new club, praying that it was going to be good. ATMOSPHERE: So I have to admit, my group of friends isn't 22 anymore, and we don't leave to go out to the club at 10:30 PM, or we would all be yawning. However, we pulled up to this place and I will tell you it was empty, but heck it was 8:00 PM, we had to check this place out to make sure we wanted to stay. So we saw the flash-dancer out front and then the legwarmers. We were asked if we had a reservation, and I said no, and wanted to freak out. Apparently reservations have been booked for the next couple Saturday. Definitely a good sign! So we went in... We were greeted by several folks, probably because we were the only ones to greet. Jeff, who owns this rocking joint, told us that they had a shuttle for FREE. So at the end of the night, he will take you within 5 miles of the club. I jumped for joy because we drove 2.1 miles in a stupid cab and it was $14.25. HIGHWAY ROBBERY. So we went in and they had $1.00 wells till 9. (yes we were there before 9 - quit judging) So I old-schooled it and had a cherry vodka sour. Jeff said he could get us a table if the reservation people didn't show by 9. In the meantime, he put us in a corner with a leather couch to kick back. The waitress, Vickie, was killer good. She came around often, and always had our drink order correct. We also learned several things, there are great happy hours all week long. Tuesday they have karaoke, so you know I will be back for that. Plus there is a bikini contest that I am sure my friend Nancy could win 5th place in! Yes! So then as 9:00 approached, they moved us to 4 tables that gave us more room and had us in the back, but easy accessible to the dance floor. Bonus. We got a new waitress, Katy. It was her second night, but I would keep her. I went to find her later in the night and ordered 5 Alabama slammers (Nancy is from Alabama) and 2 waters next to a bumping speaker and she totally got it right. Bravo Katy! The dance floor isn't huge, but you can get out there even with Beat It playing, so the size is fine for me. I did not have to throw my elbow up as weapons to get to the dance floor to find my peeps. MUSIC I cannot lie. The music from the moment I got in was GREATNESS. All excellent 80's hit. Plus you can NEVER go wrong playing Dirty Diana for someone named Diana who is at your club! They played Wham, Bon Jovi, Journey, Madonna, Duran Duran, and later in the night they threw in some 90's, which is cool with me. By 12:30 AM, Jeff said they throw in some mainstream for the folks who don't remember the 80's but should. Overall - I think this place is killer good. ***Bonus*** You come out of this place not smelling like an ash tray AND they actually use the air conditioner. If I am going to footloose, I am going to need some cool air blowing on me. There are several fans and it's not like a humid mess in there. read more
