Review #20 out of 22 for the year 2022 letss gooo! Pro tip,,,,, Fort Worth has free parking after 6pm most weekdays and free parking on the weekends after 6pm (Friday, saturday and sunday). Park in one of their official lots or go to a parking garage and parking is free. What i use to do was go to one of the restaurants nearby and ask if they had complementary valet, if they do, ask them if they would be willing to take your ticket to studio 80 valet after eating. They will most always say yes, this way you dont have to move your car after dinner. In other words, a lot of restaurants downtown use the city of fort worth parking lots/garages for their customers and so does studio 80. The same valet that work at the restaurant usually move to studio 80 after the restaurant is over to get more hours. By asking them to move your ticket allows you worry free guaranteed that you will get your car back at the end of the night. But yeah free working, your welcome. I love coming here, I always have a blast no matter the occasion. I think the first time I cam here was for a bachelorette nigh out with some coworkers and the bride to be. I loved the demographic here and I see that people honestly come here to have a good time. From all walks of life you see young and young at heart, those who lived through the 80 and those who's parents were born in the 80's. There are 3 dance floors, the first one is the one you walked in that plays all the 80's music, you will see some stairs and a digital marquee that says 'lounge upstairs'. Follow the stairs and you will see a smaller dance floor with some couches and a bar, a more intimate setting if you will. The third dance floor is on the main floor passing the staircases, this dance floor lights up and reminds me of the one from Saturday night fever (so iconic). This room has lots of couches to lounge in and it also has a bar, the DJ here plays more of the pop/hip hop songs from 2000's to today. If your gonna sit down on the couches do so properly or the staff will get on to you. Even if you put your foot on the couch to tie your shoe they will get on to you. If you are twerking and put your hands on the couch to support your body they will get on to you lol ~true story~. One of the things I like about studio 80 is that they have water in 5 gallon beverage dispensers all over their bars. So instead of bothering the bartender for some water just grab a plastic cup and fill it up with cold water and you are good to go. Not many places have this system in place. I dont usually buy drinks at their bar but the few times that I did I never had an issue with the bartenders. One of the last times I was there was for New Years Eve and It was a blast! I had so much fun dancing and meeting new people. They have VIP tables you can reserve and if you did for that night they came with light up hats and glasses along with noise makers to bring in the new year. I was lucky and the guy handing them out let me have one yay! I meet a couple of really nice and fun people that night that they did not feel like strangers. I know that's weird to say but with all the negative things going on in the world you just wanna be kind to a complete stranger and bring the world together. You could feel the love and the excitement some of these songs brought to people. I could see so many different people from different walks of life that night having fun and it just made me smile. Now FYI, you dont have to dress up like the 80's to come to studio 80 lol but if you do its cool. They do have a dress code but is not strict, as long as your not naked or being a douche you will be fine. So take a break from the modern day music and take a step back in time to enjoy some good music and dance the night away. read more

I have worked in the service industry and the service I received here was terrible. Bartenders, please pay attention to the order in which your customers arrived. I have reserved tables with bottle service with this place before and everything went off without a hitch. However, this past weekend, we ran into some problems. I had reservations for a party of 30 and when the birthday celebrant and some of our party arrived ON TIME (not "extremely late" as commented by the business) at 9:30 pm, we were taken to our couch with two tables behind having place cards reserving the area. As others people in our party started to arrive, I looked over and a table (reserved for my party) was emptied of its reservation place card and other people started to use it. We brought the issue up to our server, who was great by the way, and she said she will look into it. A manager had come by talked to several people in my party, except for me, and I watched him walk over to the table behind us and shook hands with them, talked to them, and then walked away. By this time, both groups started growing in size and we began to bump into each other. A couple of people in my party were consistent with trying to talk to a manger, or anyone in upper management really, to get things settled. It came down to demanding compensation and the owner coming by to get our table back. This whole ordeal took a couple of hours to resolve. I'm and not happy at the way things were handled. First time there and I will say the set up is pretty cool. Three places to dance along with the outside patio was pretty nice. The ambiance is great, where we had an issue was the professionalism and attitude of the bartenders. This seems to be a reoccurring issue but in Fort Worth especially was shocking. Considering how busy the bartenders are and the number of customers, you would think there a specific level of care and respect towards the people at your club. Sadly we were overlooked and then after tipping the entire night we were verbally confronted by the bar tender at close, saying our last bills' tip was not adequate despite the multiple other rounds where we were more than generous despite our heavy poured drinks. Pretty shocking someone who has the years of experience would be so entitled to a larger tip despite the numerous other rounds and tips left. Just seems like an issue of entitlement in the bartending section, this is a business and the customers' comfort and satisfaction should be the top priority, not greed or entitlement. Heard about all the buzz surrounding Studio 80 and had to check the place out. It's a fun club for sure! Fun lighting with great tunes the whole night and a friendly courteous staff. The drinks were good and lots of fun people watching. I enjoyed my evening there for sure. Word of advice when you go though. If I were you, I'd pay my tab with cash if possible. They have a pretty archaic card POS that if an error is made, it is almost impossible to undo. My tab closed out at $107, however because my card was accidentally run one extra time I was charged $100 more, leaving my total at $207. (For added context, each transaction gets a $100 hold. So my initial charge was $303 for a $107 tab because my card was run through 3 times. However, when the transactions finalized, I was still charged $207 in total even though my total bill should have only been $107.) Michael, the manager on duty, caught it early on and did his best to ensure the added charges did not finalize. However, it seemed to be too late and when they hit my account, there was simply nothing they could do from there. So I had to learn that lesson the hard way. Until they fix that bug, when I go back I will stick to paying with cash. Outside of that, nothing but good things to say about my experience, and so long as you come prepared with cash you won't have anything to worry about. read more

I attended the NYE party at Studio 80 with a friend last night, and I was surprised that our experience was awful. Other times that I've visited, I have had an amazing time, but last night was very disappointing. First, the drink prices were way overpriced from the usual. Plus, I was OVERCHARGED and charged twice for the ONE drink I had. Second, the DJ in the 90s room was the worst. I don't know if it was his first time, but he shouldn't be allowed to DJ until he gets more experience. He did NOT know what he was doing. Some people even booed when he would cut off a song that was being danced to and attempted to "mix" it with another. He even started playing "Auld Lang Syne" song (the New Year's song) at 45 seconds left on the clock because he mixed it with the song currently playing. It was bad. Some of the management were rude about reserved tables at the club. It was a very bad experience. Hopefully they will get it together for next year. read more

Came here on a Saturday night for some old school fun for my moms birthday. My dad pre ordered bottle service for two booths for the evening . Music and vibes were on point. Service was EXTREMELY slow. Barely saw the waitress the entire evening. We ordered another bottle on a different tab and waited over an hour and never received it so we cancelled. 45 minutes later there was a $680 charge to our debit card which was not only 1, but two bottles we never received. My dad woke up this morning to a $450 charge to his card for a tip when he actually tipped $280, that wasn't even well deserved. We previously saw reviews of how this happens here but took our chances and trusted we would have a good experience . Very unfortunate that we were scammed out of more money than we actually paid. This establishment seems to be doing very well and we have watched it grow from the university area. There shouldn't be a need for GREED. We will NEVER patronize this establishment ever again. From a business owner perspective, the staff clearly needs to be reprimanded because they are direct reflection of the management. read more

Lots of fun! All ages (adult ages;), all skin colors, all ability levels, people dressed 80's or not. No smoking indoors (love this!). Just fun dance music with a DJ. I had one margarita $10 with tip. Ladies free, men $10 cover. Self serve water available at the bar. I didn't visit the restroom so no comment on that. It felt relatively clean, tables wiped and cleared in a timely manner. I loved that it was young 20's to 70's and everyone was having a good time. 2 on duty police officers inside while I was there. Our women's Meetup group of 9 had an amazing time here on a Friday night! Chris was the manager and was able to set us up with two tables so that we were able to sit. Robin was our waitress and she accommodated us all night, even tracking us between both the 80's and 90's side of the club. The music in both rooms was spot on and we all had so much fun. DO. NOT. COME. HERE!!!!!!!! Where to begin...this was my first time here last night and honestly it was a good time until it wasn't. We went for a family friends birthday and we had a great time at first but there was a table next to ours and the men that were sitting there were being very disrespectful and physical with my dad all night. Shoulder checking him every chance they got. My dad didn't do anything but just look at them with confusion since we were on the dance floor and we didn't know if we bumped them at first but slowly we started realizing they were going out of their way to make a point. Then about 30 mins later my dad wanted to go outside so he could vape and as we were walking by their table one of the guys had his table velvet rope way in front of the table and forced my dad around it and as I started walking by he physically and aggressively put his hands on my arm and pulled me around the rope. I tried to remove his hand from my arm and the more I tried the harder he gripped onto me. I told him don't touch me and he pulled me in hard and said "I'll do what I want you stupid fucking whore". So, as I finally got away from this man I walked up to my dad because I knew the man being rude to him was irritating him. He didn't see what the man did to me. So my dad and I were talking after that and I told him I know that irritated you but who cares let's just go home. They aren't worth the argument. And he told me okay I'm just going to give them the rest of the bottle of vodka to be the bigger person and show them I'm not here for arguments. And I told him okay that's fine but after that let's just go. This is where things get weird... So, he walked over to give them the bottle and one man got up in my dads face and shoved him into the middle of the dance floor on his BACK. The owner, the bouncers and the "cops" immediately grabbed my dad that is flat on the ground and forced him out but the guy that actually assaulted my dad was just sitting at his table not being told anything from anyone. When we go outside the "cops" were trying to tell my dad that HE would be arrested for fighting and I told them, HOOVER & THOMPSON, that i don't understand why y'all are threatening him for assault when my dad was literally flat on his back with the other guy on top of him. They told us that the reason they grabbed him was because they saw him get pushed and didn't want him to get angry. Yet the man who ACTUALLY pushed him wasn't getting talked too. We were told that they are going to get kicked out as well but we never saw them leave and never saw them get talked too. Then low and behold I found out that the owner is friends with those guys and they are always in there causing problems and nothing happens to them. Well little do they know ... all of that stops now. WE. ARE. PRESSING. CHARGES! On the owner and the man who attacked my dad. The lack of responsibility that comes out of that place is baffling. The owner.. the bouncers... the "cops" really let Fort Worth residents down. I do NOT recommend this place at all. This nightclub was such a blast from the past!! We had so much fun. Make sure to dress in your neon colors there! I wore a dress and felt over dressed but in my defense we had just come from across the street at an elegant restaurant and bar. The music is based off a DJ and there are big screens that play 80s music videos. Drinks were good, I tasted the alcohol so that's a plus. Bathrooms were clean. Crowd was good. Men pay woman do not. I recently tried to join my Aunt in the establishment for her birthday party, and it was really cold out side. I put on a matching sweatshirt and sweat pants just to keep warm while outside and was planning on using the stall in the restroom to take them off, I had on jeans and a nice V neck white shirt on underneath. I was denied access to the bar because I looked like I was going to the gym according to the door attendant. And all I was trying to do is keep warm so I didn't get sick because I work around food. Everyone is treated with respect, great atmosphere and the music is wonderful. The new location on Taylor has a large lit up dance floor and there are actually 3 different style bars in the same location. The large area plays lots of 80s but mixes it up a bit to keep it fun. The smaller bar area off to the side plays newer music, still plenty of room to move around. Upstairs they have more of a lounge area for conversation.
