My first thought was "oh god they're going to tell us paint whatever you want" and that's not what I was looking for - I expected more of a paint by numbers and was a little dismayed when I got a blank canvas! Felipe was our instructor and he made me feel totally at ease. He had a great personality and awesome sense of humor. He was totally accommodating of my ADD (The class can be a little slow at times) and encouraged me to get really creative with my artwork. We had such a fantastic time! I would totally recommend this to anyone who is just looking for something fun to do or someone who needs a good stress reliever. I personally am a fan of coloring to relieve my stress but this is definitely a much better and more fun option in my opinion, especially because there's alcohol involved! I will be coming back for sure! Thanks Felipe for being amazing!!! (I saw some of his personal artwork that he had on his phone and he is quite the phenomenal painter, not just some random dude they hired to teach the class).

We ran into a few snags at first because we Googled the address and it took us to a completely different place than the address that the Groupon listed. Good thing we checked-we were about to go knock on a random person's apartment door. We actually showed up to the studio early even with the delay, and that doesn't seem to be the trend. The other people in our party came a bit late because they had been pregaming a bit and the other 6 decided not to show at all. About 30-40 minutes after the official start time, Felipe decided to actually start the painting-and it's a good thing that he didn't wait for the rest of the class to show up. We wanted to paint a sailboat that we saw on the wall, but evidently since he was so sick of doing that particular one we played a little bit of improv. There was definitely people on the other side of me who ended up accidentally drinking their paint water instead of their wine and dunking their paintbrushes in wine. Having wine in cups instead of wine glasses (and next to paint water cups) is dangerous while drinking. We had a blast, Felipe is awesome and was drinking right along with us. He's very talented and clearly has fun doing what he does. The studio does adult parties with booze as well as a lot of parties for kids as well. I think this is an awesome way to relax and create something, even if you think you're not artistic. It's amazing to express yourself. Even if it ends up being an abstract.

I learned so much in every single class I took. In university at USF I took a semester of ballet and the teacher complimented my technique as being the best one in the class, all thanks to the wonderful education I received at academy of arts. Now in 2025 my 3 year old daughter is taking classes and is enjoying every class. My mother, daughter and I recently went to the Christmas show and we were so proud to experience the show. It was such a great show, still professional and beautiful. 13 years later and Academy of Arts is still producing wonderful dancers. I highly recommend this studio to all dancers and artists who are eager to learn and perfect their craft.

This is a full dance school that offers: Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Pas De Deux, Lyrical, Tap, Hip-Hop, Flamenco, Modern Dance, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Drama, Piano, Guitar, Violin, and Voice. The faculty is certified and have led professional careers in their respective areas of creative expertise. They begin laying a foundation from the preschool years all the way to young adulthood. And they have both female and male students. They also offer an AfterSchool program and work your child's classes at a mutually suitable schedule. The cost of the classes is comparable to other dance academies. I have enjoyed closely watching the development in my niece, as well as in many of her close friends. I also look forward to their professionally-mounted recitals every year.

As a parent of a…read moreKindergartener, I was so happy that our son made the lottery cut because the public schools we are zoned for are less than spectacular. Don't get me wrong, I am a firm believer that teachers and parents should work together to make a better school environment, but I didn't like our local public school and we are not flush with cash (or religious) that we had the option of private school. So I was very glad our son was accepted to HAAS. HAAS is a charter school working with the Charter Schools USA curriculum. Art, science, dance and music are incorporated into the standard 3 R's found in other schools. The principal is an amazing hands-on woman with a genuine love for children and education. In fact, the entire staff is approachable, friendly, educated, and receptive to parent involvement. And parent involvement is a requirement in order to retain your child's enrollment. Parents are required to meet a certain number of volunteer hours depending on number of children enrolled in order to keep their spot. This is a wonderful perk for the hands -on parent (which I am). The school is currently expanding which will allow for a greater number of new students. My only complaint is that it is only K through 8. I wish it went all the way to 12th. And I'm not alone. I am very pleased with my son's progression. I am pleased at the type of work he does in the classroom and as homework. I am pleased with the field trips and extra curricular activities. I am pleased all around.

And if you get bulled and report it no one would do anything about it. i had a teacher that left in the middle of the school and then replaced like three month's later all that time wasted and we didn't even learn anything. then finally when they got replaced the teacher didn't even teach, the teacher just sat there watching tik-tok. instead of science class it was recess time. even the students were bring out there phones!! and honestly i don't even care doing work cuz am just lazy, and am okay with that. but the fact that they don't do anything about it, is just crazy. and the students can be so rude too, and if you say something about it you get a reported for just that, which is so unreasonable. the only thing i liked about the school is my friends that helped me survived though this hell hole.
