My daughter has been dancing at Studio Dance 4U for about 4 years now- I just went through old yelp pictures and there she is! 3 years old baby basics class! I don't regret spending a single dollar at this studio. I would never pressure my daughter to keep doing something that didn't make her happy, or to compete, and she with was totally happy taking group classes. Then she tried a private- the look on her face! She felt like one of the big kids, making real progress and dancing with nice movements and steps. There was no going back. Each of the teachers that have taught have all been special, and extraordinarily talented. All of them have an awareness of where and how to push... or be gentle. My daughter is a soft sensitive soul and I was afraid a competition-oriented Russian-run studio would be too harsh on her. My fears were quickly quieted down, I found my daughter becoming more confident, more positive, more competitive (she was anti-competitive before), and more assertive. The studio has 2 showcases a year- all the students perform for all the family and friends to the funnest songs and the best costumes. You can also go to as many, or as few, competitions if you are interested! If you're not? Honestly, it's ok. Alla and her teachers will still love you/your kids and be delighted to teach them. My daughter has done 2 competitions so far and she's hooked I ended up also starting lessons this year! There's adult salsa and Latin dance classes in the evenings. You can book privates or even semi-privates if you bring a friend or 2! Alla also rents out her studio space on weekends. I hosted my daughters 6th birthday party there and it was truly awesome. I rented the space and a teacher's time to do fun activities. It's nice to let kids run around inside somewhere safe and play, especially in the Valley heat mid-summer. Alla, Danielle and Magda choreographed our debutante (my niece) Sam's cotillion gracefully, professionally, efficiently and within our price range.... AMAZINGLY in 3 weeks time. The parents of the cotillion dancers were all proud, teary-eyed and overjoyed to see their children perform so well for the grand event. The ecstatic and boisterous crowd demanded for an encore performance. And so they had to dance again! The Father and daughter dance with only about 3 private lessons (secretly, coz we were not allowed to watch them practice ) really caught all of us by surprise with their touching and exciting number. Also, my girls are taking kids ballroom classes there for a month now. My niece also signed up recently to join them every Mondays at 6PM (and Wednesdays at 6:45PM). I'm a latin dancer, and most studios I've been to tend to error on the side of their instructors coming off as a bit elitist and overly critical or, conversely, insincere in their flattery and thus lazy with the curriculum which equates to slow progress or worse yet, the development of bad habits which results in painful undoing later. Yet, finding the right studio - where the drive to improve one's craft on the dance floor while keeping the inspiration and love for it alive - can do wonders to the acceleration of your learning. Hands down my favorite dance studio and we have been to quite a few. My youngest daughter was sooooo shy and introvert and since being at dance 4 you she has become so much more confident and open. We went from taking one class a week to 4 classes a week because they love it so much. All of the instructors are so loving and really bring out the best in all of the kids. I have 2 kids ages 10 and 8 who have been dancing for a few years now. We have been to many studios and worked with many instructors. We chose Studio Dance 4 U because of the professionalism and dedication that all the teachers at the studio possess. Putting kids in competitive dance is a big investment so we were very cautious at first. My son started training with Vadim at the studio and went from a dancer who had never made it to a final in any competition to one of the top dancer boys in the area. He had such a strong connection with his instructor he fell in love with Dance, gained confidence and the result was amazing. My girl takes classes with Alla, who is talented, energetic, loves kids, loves Dance and treats her students like family - there are days when she will go buy lunch for your kids when she feels they spent a long day at the studio and may need a snack.
