Where do I begin? Anyone who is thinking about planning an event here that involves using them and their catering services, PLEASE DO NO DO IT!!!!! I recently attended a wedding there and it was a total disaster. It was sooooo bad that the bride was in tears almost having a breakdown. The bride trusted these people to cater and have her event there and it was not good. The appetizers that were served were all cold and looked that they were of the most cheapest quality that you can imagine. They served mozzarella cheese sticks that looked tan in color ( it did not look like appealing at all) and it was cold. The bride and her family had made trays of appetizers that were never taken out, and let's not even mention the food that was served. It was horrible. I am posting one picture that was supposed to be penne pasta with pesto sauce and chicken and the sauce was red. It looked totally disgusting. It was cold. They also served "spaghetti & meatballs, and the meatballs were pale in color, come to find out they substituted them for Turkey meatballs. Again, cold food and very poor presentation. Not the quality and caliber of an experienced catering company at all. As if that wasn't bad enough, a guest had mentioned that as they were walking out of the bathroom they noticed the "caterers" took a gallon of water and poured it over a tray of pasta that was sitting on a warmer and used their hands to mix it with NO GLOVES ON!!!!' The pasta was precooked and they just poured water over it, that's why it was cold. And to top it off, the "catering company " took one of the tiers of the wedding cake home with them, in the box and all, so they stole from the bride also. The owner of the establishment refuses to say who the caterers were and that's not fair to that bride. Her wedding was RUINED. Her guests were gone by 10:00pm and I have never been to a wedding that ended so quickly. We ended up ordering some pizzas for the few of us that were left. And now the bride is STILL waiting to get refunded for the food she paid for and the services that she paid for and she keeps getting the run around. Please, the bride paid ALOT of money to rent this hall and have her most important day of her life catered and it was a total disaster. People are still talking about this and it's been 2 weeks already. I feel so bad for this bride and the embarrassment that she just experienced. Below is a picture of the chicken dish that was served cold. It was nasty. I really hope that no one makes the mistake of hiring these people, one person already had their special day ruined. I do not want to see anyone else go through this. Please do your research and pick someone better. I came here to try out the booty jam fitness with Ramona, and it's the most fun I've had in a group class recently! Ramon is not just a great dancer, but a motivator. Her energy, choreography and music choices are SICK! As a Korean K-Pop dancer I can follow routines and steps well but I lack the raw energy and that swerve needed to do all the bouncing, gyrsting, and vibrating! In just first class, I feel like my moves got better and I got a killer workout! Definitely highly recommend anyone who loves to dance! I went here for a salsa dance anniversary social. The facility is clean and doing everything they can to prevent covid. Parking fills up quickly, I wish they would clearly let people know where overflow parking is. The dance floor here is great to dance on. The room has wonderful decorations on the ceiling so it is a great place to take pictures. I can't wait for the next event held here. read more

Fun variety of classes makes this not your average gym. This is honestly the only no frills gym I will ever go to. Classes are often late, AC breaks, check in line can be long, but all that adds to the character of this place. This annoyed the type A person in me, but I also forgave it enough to go here for a year. That shows you that the good definitely outweighed the bad. The best part of this place is the classes. You won't find them anywhere else. I've taken booty jam, step class, pole dancing, zumba, pound, body pump, and I've enjoyed them all. This is a great beginner gym for people. There really isn't any real high intensity classes and people take things at their own speed. You will never feel intimidated by the people who work out here. Definitely no lululemon. But that's ok, this gym doesn't try to be something it isn't. I'm sad that body pump is gone, because it was seriously the best! In the end the distance got to me, but I would definitely suggest booty jam to anyone looking to have a good time. read more

Like: - Pay as you go, no membership - Lots of classes offered Dislike: - Location is hard to find - Tiny waiting area - 1 bathroom and 1 changing room - Only 2 studios - Studios are tiny, dark and run down looking - Too many people per class - Hot I was intrigued by the Booty Jam class so I talked a friend into going with me on a Thurs evening. There were about 35 people crammed into 1 small studio so it was hard to move around. I definitely couldn't extend my arms out fully sideways to do some of the moves. The AC was on, I think, but it wasn't cooling at all, probably due to the # of people there. Multiple fans were cranked up; the instructors had an industrial sized fan pointing at them. My friend and I were sweating profusely, but I couldn't determined if we were working out hard or just hot. Jeni J, the main instructor and creator of Booty Jam, never had a smile on her face. She was awesome with the moves, but she looked not happy to be there. The fitness center where I'm a member of, the instructors always have a smile on their faces. The one redeeming quality of FF is the variety of classes it offers. I'm planning to go back for 1 more class, Tabata, but after that, probably not again. read more

I haven't had a chance to experience all the classes that Flava Fitness has to offer- but I can definitely say that Jeni J's zumba class is by far the best in the area. I've been dancing my whole life, so I was hesitant to try Zumba, assuming I'd be bored. But that's never the case in Jeni's classes. She moves at such a good pace- keeps your heart rate and mind going the entire class! And her energy and confidence is super motivating...she never lets you give up! The classes have a very wide demographic as well- young adults to seniors- all shapes and sizes. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because this is currently the only class I can vouch for at the studio. I do know that they are constantly adding classes and trying out new group exercise ideas on a very regular basis- so boredom can never set in. You can't beat their drop in class rates- $7 for regular classes, and I think $10 for specialty classes. This is awesome for people like me who have irregular schedules and don't want to commit to a $60/month gym membership when some months I can't get to any classes. I pay only for the time I work out! Additionally, they have classes at all different times throughout the day and night (not just 6am and 6pm, which are awful times for me when I work 3pm-midnight). The flexibility of the classes and energy of the studio makes Flava Fitness a great choice for keeping your workout regiment fun and fresh :) read more

The Twerk Jam Session was really fun and tiring which is a good thing! If you're not a regular, you might have a hard time keeping up with the choreography but the instructor makes sure you get it and are doing it right. read more

This place has potential but feels so disorganized. A few months ago, I bought a Groupon for classes here. I called with some questions and left a message, but no one ever got back to me. The Groupon voucher said it was good for specialty or regular classes. I went on a Sunday and was told it wasn't good for Sunday classes because they are drop-in classes. Not sure how I could have known this since the voucher didn't say Sunday classes were excluded... The Groupon was expiring soon and so I really wanted to redeem the voucher, and they finally agreed to let me use it for that day. Last night I signed up and paid for zumba class this morning and dragged myself out of bed only to discover the class was cancelled because they have special workshops today. I've been assured I'll get a refund, but come on - the class should have been cancelled in the system! On the other hand...the classes are a lot of fun. I've mainly attended Peter's zumba class and love it! He is so upbeat and energetic - his class is a great way to start off my Saturday morning. I've also attended a class called Pound that uses special drumsticks, and it was a lot of fun. The prices are very reasonable as well. If you decide to go, be sure to bring your own water - oddly enough there isn't a water fountain, at least not that I've seen. read more

Adding on to my review to give shout outs to some other instructors... Juan Carlos teaches Zumba several days a week and he is SO much fun. Great energy and his classes are packed (get there early). Cassie teaches a few classes but I've only taken Tabata with her (a high intensity interval training class). I LOVE her class. She really pushes you and in just 30 minutes you are ready to drop. Since it's just a 30-minute class it's only $3!! Where else can you find a price like that? Also, they've added on some new classes lately, including Les Mills Body Pump. read more

Comfortable, non-intimidating studio. It has a down home feel, everyone knows each other, and it's a good energy. There are a variety of classes offered here for very affordable prices, $4 for seniors, $7-$10 for most classes. Take a class, you can't lose. The instructors are fantastic and friendly. Flava sets back in privacy behind two buildings,off of the road. They are technically savvy, once a member, (it's pay as you go, never trapped in a contract) you can easily checkin online for a class, or use the large touch screen at the studio for self-checkin. read more

The lack of organization is infuriating. So much talent from a choreography, energy, music stand point but communication and fair practices not the strong suit of this company. Ive been a member off and on for years. Today I drove here after securing child care all to be told its a chairty day and my regular work out would be 30 mins longer and would cost an additional $15. If this happened once in a while Id get over it but its almost 50% of the time. The air never works. The app isnt updated so I dont find out regular sessions are canceled until Ive already driven here. The last cancellation I was owed $30 refund for an overcharge I was on the phone with jeni(the owner) for 90 minutes and still never received the refund. Eventually I get over the sting of the lack of basic courtesy they have for there members and return because they really are that good at everything else. I wish they would hire someone to turn this around. read more

Great Body Pump class and great instructor, Rick! I give him 5 stars! Really good workout. Place is on the side toward the back of the building on the left, so it can be challenging to find if you don't have the address. I was visiting from out of town, and they don't have loaner mats for abs which would have been disappointing if we had done abs. Studio and equipment are dated. The other people attending were positive, friendly, and encouraging from the minute you walk through the door -- a positive way to start out. I will be back when I am in town, it is hard to find good instructors and places that allow you to pay per class. read more

I went to this place a few years ago and really enjoyed it, so when my friend invited me to another booty jam class I was excited to return. I went and was completely bothered. The instructor was a white girl named April. I am not bothered by the curse words in the songs, but I was bothered by the use of the "n-word" in a few of the songs. I reached out to the owner on the website and her response was basically that the class was not for children and they state that on a publications. After I stated to her that I was not child and I only offended by the "n-word". The woman continued to tell me that underground artist can not be censored and everyone will be offended some kind of way and she can not control that. I just stopped responding to her because she clearly did not get it. She then goes on her Facebook and says that some people need to grow the "eff" up about hearing curse words and if it is not said directly to you then you should not be offended. Which further lets me know she clearly did not understand anything that I said. I will definitely not be returning to this facility. The instructor never smiled, the room was very hot, and looked like it has left over decor from an event still on the ceiling. The instructor barely gave instructions on the dance moves. You would think that the studio would have progressed over the years, but I was shocked at the regression of this business. read more

If you've not tried Juan's class it is one of the best Zumba classes in the area. The pay as you go concept is great. I have been taking Zumba classes for four years and it is sooooo hard to find a great instructor. Well I'm still looking after visiting this studio. First of all one of the things I do like is that it is a 'pay as you go' studio, however, $7 for an hour long drop in class is a bit much. I decided to visit this studio since I'm new to the area and they claim to be 'dedicated' to Zumba. The instructor 'Jeni J' is proof that they let anyone be a Zumba instructor. She is the owner and the lead instructor but it seems that she makes up moves as she goes along which makes the moves more confusing for those of us trying to follow her. First she didn't even introduce herself to the class, which helps those of us who are new to 'her business' nor did she explain any of the moves. I have been in classes where the instructor welcomes new comers and if they don't help with the instructions during the class they have 'side kicks' that walk around and help those having difficulty learning the moves. Just because the majority of the attendees are regulars she should have taken a few seconds at the beginning of the class to acknowledge newcomers to the class. The studio itself is sufficient. She appears to have two studios with hard wood floors for the classes. I did noticed while I was at the cashier paying my $7 for drop in class that there were some ear plugs. I thought how odd. Well Jeni plays the music so loud you need ear plugs. The music didn't flow well with the moves. There was a mixed group of clients which was a nice comparision from some of the gyms I've visited in Clearwater/St Pete side of the bay. Since I've decided to move north of Tampa I'll continue to look for a good Zumba instructor up that way. Or maybe I'll take the time to become an instructor myself. I can honestly say this class was a waste of my time. I can def agree with the earlier review in saying that I did not know that the instructor was the owner let alone the person who was teaching the class until she just got up in front and started dancing. She did not introduce herself let alone walk the class through the routine before doing it. She just kinda went along and did her own thing and expected the class to catch on. There was about 95% interaction between instructor and attendees. The only time the instructor acknowledged the class was when she was stopping to switch to the next song to dance to. There was no coordination let alone no professionalism. I have had my share of workout dance class and never have I witnessed something so out of order. I feel that if you are a "Dance" instructor teaching a work out class that will more so only be beneficial if the heart rate is consistent, then a set play list for music should be in order. I felt like the class wasted too much time switching songs while my heart rate was at its peak only to have it drop in between songs. The dance moves were very elementary and did not incorporate any cardio vascular routine as promised. I left as dry as I came in. The studio itself is very welcoming, until you get to the front desk. I stood in line over 5 min before signing in waiting on the front desk clerk to finish her conversation with another patron. Overall, the studio, and the instructor can be better. read more
