Update: I am reposting this review because, for some reason, my previous review was removed. Everything written below reflects my personal experience during and after my visit. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from beginning to end. 1. Very limited color availability The salon was out of every shellac color I initially selected. I had to repeatedly go through the sample books to find a color that was actually available, which took unnecessary time and was frustrating. 2. Customer service I did not feel welcomed during my visit. The staff mostly spoke to each other in a language I could not understand instead of communicating with me, which made me feel excluded and uncomfortable. Whenever I raised a concern, I felt that the responsibility was placed back on me rather than my concerns being addressed. 3. Product quality Please refer to the attached photos. My shellac started peeling in less than one week. The actual shellac color looked noticeably different from the catalog sample. The polish was so sheer that the tips of my nails remained visible. When I pointed this out, I was told that I should choose a more opaque color next time instead of being offered a solution. Considering that shellac is expected to last much longer, this was very disappointing. 4. Pedicure For me, a pedicure should be a relaxing experience. Unfortunately, I felt that everything was done as quickly as possible, and I left feeling rushed rather than relaxed. I understand this may be subjective, but it was genuinely how I experienced the service. 5. Manicure I am still unsure why, after receiving a professional manicure, I ended up with painful cuticles, peeling skin, and small scars around several nails. This is not something I have experienced after manicures at other salons. I have had my nails done at other places before, so I was not expecting perfection--only the standard of care that most professional salons provide. Update after the appointment After the pedicure, one of my toes had been cut painfully during the service. Subsequently, I developed paronychia (a nail fold infection) in that toe and required medical treatment. I cannot say with certainty what caused the infection, but this occurred after the injury I sustained during the pedicure, which made the experience even more concerning. Overall, based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this salon. read more

A friend who lives in the city recommended Studio Jen Jen to me while I was visiting for an extended summer stay. I walked in, no appointment on a rainy Monday afternoon and I wasn't the only one! It was packed, I was seated in a pedicure chair right away, the woman working the front door was so nice and personable. Jimmy gave me a pedicure, Chrissy did my nails at the same time. I cannot recommend this place enough. My friend and I traveled to Montreal on a vacation and Chloe did my nails. She was fast, efficient and transparent. JenJen, the owner was such a doll. The prices were very reasonable as well!! My friend lost her sunglasses in the shop and the next day they found them. Such a great experience and way to end our trip. read more

Jenny the owner not only doesn't retain her staff, but she also can't keep her customers. She overcharges and makes up prices as you go. Specifically asked about why I was charged for a service I didn't consent to. When I asked for clarification, trying to see if it was a miscommunication, Jordan started speaking in Vietnamese and caused a complete scene. This was shocking to me bc I had been a loyal customer for 3 years(myself, my 2 daughters). The nail tech was apparently angry and ended up hurting me by over filing my nails. I asked her to change the length and shape of one nail and she adamantly refused. Then Jordan proceeded to call Jenny the owner and told me I should leave the salon with my nails not done. I was flabbergasted. I told her I was uncomfortable as they were clearly talking about me in Vietnamese and her nail tech Helen was mean and unaccommodating. Jordan said no one wants to do your nails . Finally one nail tech Tina was kind enough to speak English to me and said I will for sure finish your manicure. She then told me she would continue to take me on but when I asked Jordan about rebooking w Tina, her response: no Tina will never have time for you. Jordan is a liar; Jenny is a money grabbing person who mistreats her customers and staff. I have seen many customers receive different prices for the same services. I have done pedicures there as well and they have caused many ingrown nails . I was extremely disappointed to be bullied by Jordan, Jenny and Helen. I would never recommend this salon to anyone who wants to be treated respectfully. When you upcharge a customer at the end of the manicure, that is unacceptable. They even measure the length of your nails w a makeshift ruler and charge more depending on the length of the nail. The blatant disregard and disrespect for customers is unacceptable and Jenny doesn't deserve the business . Cannot recommend this salon. What a fail. And Jordan, you have a lot to learn about how to treat people. Terrible environment, terrible service and overpriced and tons of over charges! Stay far away. read more

Booked 2 pedis they both started 20 min late then after asking for a pedi JenJen the host told the pedicurists they didn't have time. So what we got was 2 very rushed pedis (18 min each), my heel hurts from too much scrubbing and a toe that could have used more care that also hurts. Never coming back. My pedicure and manicure were done at the same time and extremely rushed, it wasn't relaxing whatsoever. I made an appointment 2 weeks prior to ensure I was giving them enough time. I guess they only care about the money. The Studio is clean and big however they have a lot of business so they don't truly care about their customers. After 5 days both my gel manicure and pedicure have both chipped and are peeling. I will definitely be searching for a different salon. read more

It was the second time going here and the owner and staff are really nice . I had actually come the week before but I didn't like the colours I chose and wanted to change them . They were super understanding about it and worked their magic . I would recommend but also it's always important to make reservations since they are really busy on the weekends.
