I went to the Port Orchard location by the same name, maybe they've moved?…read more First off, I do want to say that the owner/instructor had great technique & seemed really knowledgable about pole dancing. That said, my first impression wasn't enough for me to come back. Dolphin dance's website needs an update, or at least it did when I went. I arrived late because the address led me to a different part of Port Orchard and I had to call the studio last minute to find the location. Then class started 10 minutes late, and being brand new to the area at that time, I was told that this is how time/scheduling works out here... Actually, I've lived here for a year now and have yet to come across that anywhere else. Upon entering the studio, the instructor/owner asked where I was from, laughed, and made a statement with a heavy accent that was supposed to be from my home state. I was taken aback. It's ok to tease someone you know better, but to make a crack at someone who's brand new in the area, got lost on the way there, and is homesick like crazy.. not ok. I spent the class being repeatedly warned that, since I had a history with pole dancing at other studios, that I'm to keep my feet on the ground at all times until I progress further along in this studio's classes/levels. How boring. If I wanted to keep my feet on the ground while dancing to slow music that's not energizing for fun, I would have joined ballet instead. Then we spent 15 minutes being instructed how to twirk, one butt cheek, the other butt cheek, both butt cheeks. Seriously now? We also spent a good 10 minutes learning handstands. Alright, except for those who can do handstands in their sleep, there really should be an alternate option/version to work on during that time. That was really boring, and I wasn't getting any tips or corrections, so it felt like wasted class time, much like the twerking. Time was saved at the end for a pow-wow style discussion about life lessons and personal growth. This was sweet, but I'd rather be pole dancing. The poles themselves are a bit older: static rather than spinning, and they felt thicker than the poles I've typically used, but that's a personal preference.

Poor communication, lack of follow through, charging ridiculous amounts to participate in the performance and worst of all, not providing the recital photos and video we paid an arm and leg for. Keep in mind this was a dance class for 4 & 5 year olds. It felt like they wanted to pump every last penny out of us while giving absolute garbage customer service. -A sparkly shirt and plain polyster pants was over $100 -3 tickets to attend said performance at a highschool auditorium, over $100. Yes we were at the front, tickets at the back row were not much cheaper tho -Taking your own video and photos of performance not allowed so they charged a 'media fee' of $110 -For one dance performance, we paid over $300! The worst part of this, we have not received any photos or videos from the 5/24 recital. I have heard from other parents in the group that they got theirs a month ago. I have spoken to Chris on the phone who told me directly they were coming -- this was over 3 wks ago and 6 wks after the recital Called 2 weeks after that call and left a voicemail, no return call Emailed twice to Chris, no response. We've had to waste so much time hounding this studio for the services we paid for and never received. I've finally filed a claim with my bank to dispute the charges. Would have done it via Better Business Bureau but of course they're not listed. There were other issues with them offering to not charge for a late start and leaving early but of course, those agreements were not honored by Chris as well.

Inmotion Performing Arts Studios is THE WORST in regards to communication, organization, and overall experience. There is no regard for you or your kids' life - They clumsily try to own you and God forbid, throw shade and guilt if you endeavor to celebrate your 40th wedding anniversary weekend when they wanted to hold a last-minute rehearsal. The studio doesn't even bang at a high level - there is one quality-ish instructor there and he's a half-wit diva (with regrettable hair). They try to get more teachers and they bail... Because this place sucks. So does the diva. And the director too. Involving your child and your life in this place is like putting your entire bet on a clown that can't juggle. Oh yes, they are clowns but no, they can't juggle. Surprise! Here's an invoice out of nowhere for $200!! Pay now and shut up or your kid will be in the back row!!! So glad to not be a part of this miserable place anymore. Toodles.

You leave feeling accomplished after a thorough workout while dancing to great songs. I wasn't sure what to expect when I came here. It was a bit confusing trying to find the studio. When you enter from street level, you have to go downstairs towards the Underground Dance Studio. You can either dance barefoot or with shoes (wish they could make a rule about which one because my feet always get dirty). The class starts off with some warm up dances and then moves through different types of styles of dancing with each song change. You get to express yourself however you want to. You don't have to do every single move the same way and they encourage movement around the floor. Thankfully there are a bunch of fans around the room because by the 3rd song I'm always sweating. There are no official breaks so step off the dance floor and get water as necessary. Class ends with some stretching and warm cloths with some sort of essential oil. I can't wait til the next class!

I figured I would just try this place out since it was quite close to my home and it had good reviews. I was pleasantly surprised at how cheerful and upbeat all the instructors are (I tried Zumba/Hiphop and More than Dance classes and probably have been in classes with 5 different instructors (depending on the day/time you choose to go). What I can say is that all the instructors are have their own styles but are definitely wonderful and will keep you happily dancing. What I particularly like about this place is the christmas lighting and the setting that makes you not feel so self-conscious about what you are doing wrong or how terrible of a dancer you may think you are. I admit that I'm not a naturally good dancer and I have a good time everytime I go there. There are, of course, some people there who can dance like rock stars and look really cool when they dance. However, the instructors there are very encouraging and provide guidance what you can do as a beginner, intermediate or advanced dancers, so you can really just do things at your own level and not care so much about others. It definitely feels liberating to just be able to dance your own style, at your own pace/level, and nobody is judging you on how you look or how weird you dance :). After the package ran out, I ended up signing up for more classes and still go there whenever I find some free time.

There is a man who lives on the first floor, right outside the doors, who is a senior with disabilities. I am on the third floor, and every time they wake me up. I went here for my first dance lesson outside of college (because of covid, this was over a year…read moreago!) for the Hip Hop I/II lesson that took place around lunchtime of Sunday. Although the instructor was a substitute, I felt the quality of the lesson was not diminished at all. Pace of the lesson is beginner friendly, and even though it took me the first half of the hour to adjust and remember the vibe of dancing, I was still able to pick up the fundamentals and feel confident in myself dancing a few 8 counts at the end without hesitation. I had a great time, even with the fact that the class was really small (about 6 people), as it normally feels a bit intimidating for me to dance in small groups, at least for now. The only issue for me is the commute as I don't have a car to commute from downtown Seattle, but whenever my friend with a car wants to do more dance lessons, this will certainly be the first place I will think of! Besides, this is one of my coworkers go-to dance studio in the past before he moved closer to the city, and he has mentioned that before covid, some lessons are so popular you have to pay in advance to secure a spot!
