Felt like a pretty average pole class. My instructor definitely seemed to be more focused on the people who were getting it vs the people who were not--wish it was more equal. So I didn't know Gaby is actually one of the owners when I signed up for the super sweet new student deal of 2 weeks for $60. Since I was visiting from CA and have been at other studios before, whoever I was chatting with on IG suggested I try Pole 300. ...I was in the Pole 100/200, 200/300, 300/400, Pole Flow, and Intro to Aerial Hoops classes. ALL OF THEM. And they are ALL fan-freaking-tastic. The instructors really tailor the class and what the students do and learn to where the students are at, which was amazing to have something so customized. Extra bonus: we all had our own poles! Each class starts with a warm-up and some conditioning before getting into the class material and cooling down at the end. The instructors, classmates, and everybody and everything else were amazing. The facility is super clean and well kept. 100% cannot recommend this place if you're in the Columbus area!! read more

What a cute studio! My friends and I did an aerial hoops class. The instructor was great. She was knowledgeable and modeled each move several times. She was hands on and helpful as well. Looks like they have a variety of class options and times between the two locations. The studio was clean and had a bathroom for changing before and after class. I will definitely go back. read more

We had a blast at our bachelorette party chair dance class with Tracy! She was so fun and broke the dance down so it was easy enough to learn. She had great music options but let us pick whatever we wanted to dance to also. The studio is nice, and there's free parking. Perfect for bachelorette or birthday parties, or even just for fun! Studio Rouge - Dance Studios Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

A few weeks ago, I joined some of my college best friends for a bachelorette party rendezvous in Columbus. We kicked off the day with a fun burlesque dance class at Studio Rouge! Studio Rouge is located in somewhat of a residential area in a tiny brick building with a tiny parking lot (I was a bit concerned about parking my vehicle in that tight lot!). You walk in and directly upstairs to a spacious room with several poles down the middle and walls of mirrors. There's a small room off to the side to put your supplies (and change), and beyond that, another large room that I assume was used for the aerial classes. A group of eight or so of us showed up in tank tops and yoga pants armed with an extra shirt and bra (for "removal" during the dance). We were loaned some feather boas and gloves to choose from for our dance routine too. I had NO idea what to expect.... For the next hour, the instructor led us through an entire burlesque dance routine complete with removal of shirt and bra (which we wore over our clothes, so no worries -- no one actually was topless!) at the end. It was a sassy routine with a lot of bouncing hips, whipping boas, and caressing our arms. We laughed as we danced through it as a group. It was different, unique, and kind of fascinating. The instructor was patient with us, and very easy to follow. She also made us feel comfortable, which you have to be to, if you're removing your clothes! I wouldn't do it again (it's not really my thing -- I'm more interested in pole dancing) but I'm glad I gave it a shot... and created a memory with my friends. read more

I went for Studio Rouge's fall student showcase. The studio was packed with people supporting their friends and family. The showcase used two poles and there were about 10 routines. The MC was so cute and energetic. She did a great job keeping the crowd hyped up. All the students did a wonderful job. It was so much fun getting to see everyone show off all of their hard work. read more

Got to the studio and no one was there. No way of calling anyone, finally I was able to email and was told class was canceled after waiting for thirty minutes. No 24 hour warning, not one email telling me it was cancelled. read more

I took an intro to pole class today and had a great time. The instructor had amazing energy and was pumping up the class. I really appreciate that she took the time to really help each student and get to know our names. It was quite a workout and seriously had so much fun! The studio is located directly above snap fitness in Grandview with very limited parking since they share a lot, so come with enough time to drive around to find street parking. When I arrived the girl at the desk was very friendly and told me where everything I needed was/ what forms to fill out. The studio itself was dark, and clean. I went to the studio for the Intro the Pole class. During the class she made us feel very comfortable since its a slightly awkward class! The class itself was more informative and you didn't really break a sweat like a "workout" since it was an intro class. All in all, a nice place to try. read more

Tonight was my 1st ever class, Intro to Aerial Hoop. Wasn't entirely sure what I would be getting myself into but figured with my background in cheerleading, dance, and gymnastics I should be able to hold my own (even though it's been about 6yrs for any of that!) The instructor was wonderful! I was excited that we were given some time to take pictures & videos while practicing the skills because I'm all about documenting new experiences! Even though we had to double up & share lyras, I walked away feeling very accomplished, as if I had learned and been able to practice several basic moves! Definitely recommend if you're looking for something new, challenging, and fun :) read more

The "Intro to Pole" is recommended for newcomers, so I bravely signed up for the Monday 8pm class and showed up! Parking was SUPER easy; there is a parking lot along the right side of the building and the studio is above the Snap Fitness. The advanced class was wrapping up as I entered and the girls were all so friendly and along with the studio owner, they showed me to the changing area and gave me the lowdown on how to get ready. Here are the tips I got: - For you first class, wear whatever you want, but after that you need to be in shorts. I had leggings on (Lulu Align pants) and it was fine, but once you start climbing up the pole in your subsequent lessons, you need your legs to stick to the pole. - Do no have ANY lotion on. Not your hands. Not your legs. Not your arms. I am guessing there's no problem with face lotion - Take off all of your jewelry. I felt a little uneasy removing my wedding rings and putting them in the changing room, so next time I would leave them at home ahead of time. The studio When you reach the top of the stairs, you'll find a warmly-lit red room with beautiful floors and a calming aesthetic. Carolyn, the owner, was stationed behind the desk and greeted me with a friendly smile and all the info I needed. If you need to, or feel like, buying any fun new wardrobe for class, they sell a small selection of sky-high heels, cute tops, and booty shorts. The class: intro to pole The class was scheduled for an hour and a half, but after signing in, I learned that I was to be her only student! I asked if she preferred to cancel, but she insisted that it would be just fine and if we wanted to make it a little short we could. I mustered up some courage, silently cursed my friends who did not comply to being dragged along, deposited my things in the comfortable changing area, and selected a pole. Although on paper the idea of a private pole dancing lesson sounds intimidating (eep!) Carolyn made the class incredibly comfortable. We warmed up with some basic stretches, a few push ups, and some other familiar movements. Then, it was time to tackle the basics! She taught me The Walk (yep, that one), first across the floor then around the pole. As a physical therapist, and a person who has had on and of shoulder issues, I greatly appreciate the detailed instruction she gave regarding proper grip. It is so important to activate the proper shoulder muscles and achieve a safe contraction to protect the shoulder and to be effective and I love that they ask new students to go through this intro class first to make sure you've got it right. Once I had that down, I got to learn how to spin forwards and backwards, and then how to get off the floor without looking like a klutz. Her explanations were clear, clever, and often humorous. Then there were a few moves where I slid down in a sort of squat and did a little floor work. She strung it all together into a short sequence and played some music. By the end, I felt pretty accomplished! Bring an open mind, just as you would if you were trying anything new, and a friend. I actually did enjoy taking the class on my own, but if you're thinking of going, try to be more convincing than I was and drag along someone you'd have fun dancing and laughing with. You'll have fun and I promise the intimidation factor won't be all that different than signing up for any other kind of fitness class with a little choreography involved. read more

I had my bachelorette party here and we had the best time. The staff was easy to communicate with leading up to the event. Also, I personally think it is very affordable ($250 flat rate for the whole group). We liked it so much that the hour went by so fast- we all agreed we could have stayed for two more hours! It was a fun touch that they had us pick "dancer" names out of a hat, which we of course called each other all night. Great experience! read more

I was interested in taking pole dancing lessons, so I simply "googled it" and the first choice was Studio Rouge. After looking at the website, I noticed how sophisticated the studio and the images were. The website was super easy to navigate so I found myself on the registration page. The first session for "Pole 101" began when I was planning to be on vacation. So I contacted the studio and the instructor told me to come in for a one-on-one session so that I would be caught up when I returned from vacation. I couldn't believe she offered that. I didn't know what to expect, but after the first class, I was so happy that my google search took me to Studio Rouge. Having taken & taught dance classes throughout my life, I could tell right away that the instructor was the real deal. Super knowledgable, smart, strong and patient. I have not stopped taking classes since June and now I'm at the advanced level! I also took their floor and chair workshop and yoga as well! Now they are offering a pole circuit class! All of the instructors are amazing and it is a very relaxed and professional environment. I highly encourage anyone who is interested in pole to visit Studio Rouge. read more

If you want a great workout in an extremely fun and supportive environment you can't do better than this studio. Everyone there is so nice and very professional--and they will make you work hard, but you won't even notice because you'll be having so much fun. First of all, the studio space is gorgeous. And I mean gorgeous. And it's full of poles! I felt giddy, like I was at a jungle gym for adult women. I have no dance background, but I'm really comfortable, even surrounded by mirrors, and I feel like a dancer when I'm in class. That's an awesome feeling. read more

I LOVE this studio for how it makes me feel during and after any class! I was looking for opportunities to simply change up my workout routine, never having taken exotic dance classes before, and I was excited to try something completely new although SUPER nervous...but I finally committed to the 2-week unlimited class pass and I could not be happier. The other individuals taking the classes along with me are kind, patient, and extremely easy to talk to, the instructors are passionate and encouraging throughout the class, and the overall space is very inviting. This is a hard review for me to write. I love taking pole classes at Studio Rouge. The class sizes are small, the atmosphere is great, and the instruction is amazing. I have no complaints with those. I took the intro to aerial hoop and was also impressed. I then took intro to aerial silks, and this is where things were not so great. There were 8 students in the class, but only 4 silks. The room with the aerial equipment is very small, and even during the warm up, we had to turn sideways to avoid hitting each other. It felt like we were crammed in like sardines. When it was time to use the silks, we had to partner up with another student. We went over a lot of moves, so I felt very rushed. By the time I had wrapped my foot and climbed up, I already felt rushed to get down before I could even get into the pose. Even though I was going as fast as I could, I still like to practice the pose on each side, and I noticed my partner had often gone to another student's silks. I really didn't feel like I had time to practice anything because of this. The instructor did not have her own set of silks and had to borrow a students' to demonstrate anything, leaving even less time for whoever was practicing on that one. The silks themselves were also not the proper material. They were very slippery and extremely stretchy. I would wrap my hand or foot from my tiptoes, often jumping up into them and still be grazing or touching the floor seconds later. This made climbing or even holding a simple pose impossible. I have practiced on many different sets of aerial silks before and since and have never encountered ones like these anywhere else. The mixed level hoop and mixed level silks classes both allow 8 students to sign up, however there is only enough hardware to allow 4 hoops or silks total. I really feel this is not acceptable and puts a damper on the whole experience. If you are only taking pole classes, Studio Rouge is an excellent place to take them. I was disappointed in their other offerings and feel like they were really ill-equipped to teach them, however. Edit: I really struggled with this review. I wish there was a half star option. The pole classes are truly the best I have ever taken, bar none, and if you want to experience being up in the air, the intro to hoop class will knock your socks off. I feel bad leaving a low review, but for me, the aerial was the main draw. read more

This was my first visit and I attended intro to aerial silks. It was overall a good experience and I'd recommend it. Parking is slim so go early. Also, the pole room and the aerial room are open to each other at the ceiling so you can hear the other class talk. That is my only complaint. It is kind of expensive but so is any studio like this. read more
