Despite the drive, I always come back to Karen because she's the only person I completely trust with my hair. I'll let the photos speak for themselves. Karen has done my hair for countless vacations, weddings, and other special occasions, and every time she delivers exactly what I'm looking for. She takes the time to listen to what you want while also being honest about what's achievable and healthy for your hair. I really appreciate that she prioritizes maintaining the integrity of my hair instead of just saying yes to everything. I've been seeing Karen for so long that she's become our family's hairstylist. My family members all go to her, and even my husband has had his hair done by her. I realize they are busy and after all I did not have an appointment. However, 3 times I've experienced nothing but rude attitudes! My first experience I was greeted at the door by a young girl, telling me "were closed" she than closed the door and locked it walking away. Okkkk! Second time... I walked in and stood there waiting for someone to acknowledge me. No one did, they just looked at me. Didn't ask do you have an appointment. Or can I help you? Nothing. I finally asked if there was a receptionist that I could speak to. One blonde lady turned to me and said" there's no one available" ....OKKKKKK! 3rd Time... Walked into the salon, heard hair dyer going therefore realized they were busy. The hair dryer finally was turned off. I made a noise to where they could hear that I was inside the entrance area. The same blonde lady stuck her head around the corner and said "I am the only one here. I can't stop now I am coloring hair" INTERESTING!!! As I Never thought a hairdryer was used in the process of coloring hair. Each time I was NEVER greeted with a "hello... can I help you... or do you need or have an appointment"? Fun music and clean surroundings. Not to mention close to Trader Joe's and Grocery Outlet, two of my favorite grocery stops. Jackie (Jacqueline Scott,) is fabulous, she understands style and texture, always does a great job on my hair. This appointment was to shape up my dried ends and give me something fresh to work with. In the past I have done color with Jackie, she always makes my hair look amazing. And the best part after any appoinment is when I get home, wash and style myself, still looks great. I made a second appointment to get what I actually wanted and what she had originally suggested I couldn't make my first appointment rescheduled for three weeks after I showed up to the salon and wait for Cassie to come in, I live an hour away from salon Cassie came in. I smiled at her and she gave me a weird funny book. Kind of like I recognize you, but who are you and why are you smiling at me and then she called the other customer to her chair and they started conversation I rechecked my phone in the text to make sure I had the right date and time , and then called out to Cassie and asked her she forgot my appointment. I don't think I've been looked at like that in my entire life Like I've lost my mind and I had no right and even saying anything to her Cassie walked to the back and checked her phone and said oops, my bad. it's OK don't worry I can take both of you right now very snidely. I asked how long the appointment was going to be. She said 3 1/2 hours like last time but last time was 4 1/2 hours so I'd be looking at 5 1/2 hours for her to do my hair and someone else's hair and when I tried to explain. I had a baby shower to go to which was two hours away. She looked at the other client and said don't worry that she (myself)couldn't make the appointment anyway I can just do your hair. at that point I just picked up my stuff and left, cried in my car I couldn't believe I drove an hour to get my hair done and I've never felt so disrespected and humiliated in my entire life. so no I won't be going back. which is unfortunate because I thought the 1st Cassie was nice the one who didn't recognize me not so much

My hair is baby fine and ultra straight - and she was hell-bent on making it look thicker. She put way too much and too many products in, and also back-combed/teased my hair - so I ended up with a desert-dry tangled mess. The cut was very nice though, and we talked about not trying so hard to make my hair something it just isn't, so I was willing to have a second appointment, since I love the product line and this salon has the best Aveda inventory in Stockton. Then, Cyndi just disappeared. She texted me the morning of my return appointment that she had some sort of disagreement with her boss (the owner, I think), and had been locked out of the salon. She then texted me that she was going to go to another Aveda salon in the area and would let me know when she started working there (within a week or two). I never heard from her again. Not wanting to get in the middle of whatever drama was playing out here, I found another place for my next appointment that sells (limited selection) and uses Aveda products. My experience here was odd. I won't be going back, but I'm not sure if I recommend it to others as I only went the one time and saw a person who is no longer there (I assume). They have a good selection of Aveda products. The place could use a good clean, and there is a lot of deferred maintenance evident in the salon.
