I've worked in the fitness industry for years, and I can honestly say I was impressed with this place. For a small town gym operated by the hospital, they really have a lot of equipment! I can only think of maybe two machines that I would like to see added. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, and there is a wide variety of ways to get your fitness on. There is even a childcare. Having worked in the fitness industry, I know that normally in gyms, the staff is trained to sell, sell, sell. I did not get this vibe at ALL here, and it was very refreshing. I'm guessing maybe because it is run by the hospital, the employees aren't forced to hit high quotas or work off commission. Whatever the reason is, it is nice. They are there if you need them, but the staff never tries to pressure you into joining or buying things you don't need. The only thing I would change would be later hours, especially on weekends. But I am a bit of a night owl. :)

The instructor was really good, but tough. I personally liked her pushing us through because the heat was starting to get me towards the end. Everything is clean and really nice. If you're going to do this I definitely recommend hydrating starting the day before and don't eat a big meal before you do this. I bought the $50 intro for one month and I'll be back at least once week time permitting.

My therapist, Mandy, knew when to push and I certainly appreciate the attitude and commitment to help their patients, and this includes every member of the staff I had any interaction with. What I found with Pure Barre is a simple way to work on my flexibility and also get a total body workout which strengthens those muscles I don't work running. It is great for cross training or days when the weather is bad. What I found at the Madison studio is knowledgeable, dedicated people who are friendly and welcoming, professional, really energetic, and most important, fun. They give lots of encouragement and pointers keeping everything positive. Workouts fly by with fast paced music. Tucked away on Main Street, the studio is easy to get to, has plenty of parking, and is kept very clean and sanitized. It is locally owned and operated and is community oriented. Pure Barre Madison is a great way to get a whole body workout while burning those extra calories and lifting your spirits for the day.

They placed a freeze on my account when I called to discuss the reasons for being unable to return due to physical therapy they did not cancel my membership they charged me again and stated that they did not cancel because my contract requires it be in writing. I did not realize I was being by charged again and they now refuse to refund anything at all. I joined nearly a year ago paying $159 monthly and was never using it but hey I'm welcome to use the sessions I've paid for this month. Just note this before signing a contract with them.
