Well, we bought the house to use the fireplace, so we got everything done, from crown to flu repair. Cameron came on time as scheduled, and not only got everything repaired, but it was finished faster than estimated. They even repointed our bricks as an extra. Cost was what we expected, so while we'd love the work for free, who wouldn't, this was worth it for a safe winter season. When I called to address the charge, I expressed my concerns about the lack of upfront communication. The accounting representative was polite and apologetic, and I do believe the company values customer service, however, there was a clear shortfall in transparency regarding pricing.
