Don did an amazing job of removing the huge Crimson King Norway stump in our front yard after tree removal. Even though the stump was cut as close to the ground as possible, there was a mound about 2 feet high and the roots went out 15 feet. He ground everything thoroughly, removed yards of chips, then packed topsoil down, seeded and put straw down for us. It looks like there was never even a tree there now, just like he said! Don is a miracle worker! After having a few trees removed from our property, we were left to fend for ourselves with the remaining stumps. I called a few stump removal companies for quotes. Because our house sits atop a 4 foot retaining wall, we were repeatedly told there was no way to get a stump grinder onto the property. Don was unfazed. He said he specialized in doing difficult jobs like mine. He showed up with a stump grinder mounted in the back of his truck, and proceeded to remove our stumps quickly and cleanly. Here is our on going story. On Thursday, 12/20/18, a subcontractor for a major utility company, was replacing the pole ifo our house. They hit our underground service and left us without power and yes this is 5 days before Christmas. That power company told us that we had to fix it. We finally found an Electrician that would do the work, not many were willing to work on Christmas week, but they do not dig. We put out a desperate call out to our friends via social media. We were offered a machine for DIY but I was not comfortable digging around the rest of our underground utilities. Then Don fromStump Chompers to the rescue. He said he can come out on Christmas Eve and dig our trench and back fill when needed. True to his word, he showed up at 7:00 AM Christmas Eve and dug. Then, on 12/26/18 he returned right after a short call informing him we were ready to get back filled so the power company can pull the wires. He was there quickly, again and back filled, in the dark, the day after Christmas. We got our power back on 12/27/18, a week of generator. In no small part to Don and Stump Chompers.
