This was my first time selling at Style Encore, and the experience was just okay. One associate was very welcoming, but the other one who went through my clothes didn't seem very friendly. I brought in items that matched what they said they were looking for, but it didn't seem like my items were looked through very thoroughly. It made me question whether racial bias may have played a part in how my items were reviewed and fairly considered for purchase. I also noticed that the overall style of the store isn't versatile. I visited for the first time today. Very friendly staff. I took a large bag full of sundresses and spring tops plus 2 pair of shoes and a handbag. I even had name Brand pieces. They didn't accept anything I had. But the items in the store and outside along the sidewalk looked cheap. I'm not sure how they decided on the items they'll take but apparently they only accept certain labels. read more

I normally love to shop at Style Encore but I recently tried to sell there. Bad experience, I had a large bag of many gently used items. The girl only took two items worth $140, but only offered $10.... I went down the road and sold the same two items for over triple the offer at Plato's. read more

Montana not only racially profiled my daughter but caused a scene and completely embarrassed our family and when it was proven that my daughter didn't do anything, instead of apologizing for HER mistake she told the cops she wanted her banned from the store and give her a trespassing notice!! I will be sharing my story across all of my social media platforms to avoid this store like the plague. My husband and I just moved here a year ago with our 5 year old daughter. We frequented this store a lot since it's right next to our favorite yogurt shop. Our adult daughters came to visit us this weekend from Wisconsin, and we decided to take them to this store because it's similar to Plato's Closest. However our shopping experience took quite a turn when my 19 year old daughter was accused of shoplifting. While I was waiting outside the dressing room, 5 cops walked in and one of the cops was peaking from above the dressing room stall. I was asking them what was going on. They wouldn't tell me and I told them my daughter was in there trying stuff on. At first I felt they got the wrong person, but nope, they forced her to open the dressing room door while she was still changing. They asked to look in her purse and my daughter cooperated fully, showed them her purse, showed off everything she was wearing, no sign of her having anything she wasn't supposed to. I was still holding the cart that had the jewelry she was going to buy, the jewelry they were accusing of putting in her bag. Cops looked at the security video and told us they didn't see anything and there was zero evidence of her taking anything. I will never come here again! We felt humiliated and other shoppers looked at us like we were criminals! She didn't have to shop lift because we, her parents, were going to buy whatever she picked out. And by this point our other daughter had already checked out and bought the stuff she wanted. She didn't even want that stuff anymore and wanted to return it, but we just wanted to get the heck out of there and not spend one more second there. Awful place to go to! I will also add that this was not our 19 year old first time in this store she's been there with us before. It was our 24 year olds first time there and she said it will be her last. read more

Style Encore is one of the nicer secondhand clothing stores in LKN. I'm a big fan of Poshmark and ThredUp, but you can't beat shopping in person to make sure the clothes are a good style and fit. I visited the store on a recent weekday, and appreciated the cleanliness and organization of the store, as well as the reasonable prices. It was easy to find items in my size in the various categories, and the clothes weren't too tightly packed so I could easily look through them. The separate Lilly Pulitzer and Lululemon racks were great for sorting through those available items. While I found several items from my favorite brands on the racks (Liverpool, 7 For All Mankind, Madewell, Lululemon), sadly, none of them worked for me on this visit. I think most of their clothes lean to the more moderately-priced brands, like Loft, Banana Republic, Old Navy, etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were several spacious and clean fitting rooms with adequate mirrors and lighting to try on clothes. I appreciated the various hooks to hang the clothes in these rooms to help sort though items you want/don't want. I definitely plan to keep this place on a frequent visit status! read more

Listen I'm not one to even write a review however I'm not one to be insulted either ESPECIALLY when it comes to the cost I pay for such luxury items. I came in today seeing how much I could get for NEVER BEFORE WORN Prada sandal heels and do you know how much they were willing to give me back, only $250 dollars. Are you fucking insane I paid just over a $1000 for them. My Med school books are even more than $250. She told me that it's because of the size which happens to be a 41 which let me remind you I just was in there a week prior with some Hermes Oran sandals which where cheaper and received back more. They need a new system and let me remind you for some reason it took them around 45 mins to get them authenticated or to see if they were authentic. Please don't waste your time, you will be ripped off! Uptown Cheapskates or the Huntersville will give you at least your moneys worth not a lousy $250 for some brand new never worn still in the box Prada brand it's very Insulting. But I have a feeling that it's a tad bit racist as well. Sorry to inform you about your awareness with servicing different races I know for a fact that some of your staff are biases to different races. I'm not going to down play it or dismiss my feelings that I even felt when I came in your store the first time. I just pushed it aside thinking it was all in my head but after this last experience I know for a fact that your staff will treat people of differently depending on their skin tone because you think that we don't know what we are talking about or that we don't matter as much because you will immediately help a person of different skin color quicker service. Or you might even think that what we are trying to sell isn't real. Please be aware that we all matter if you are going to continue to be in the business of customer service. Let's not play like we aren't in the south or in a predominantly white area of North Carolina. White privileged is real but of course you understand see color I bet. read more

The selection is great, but their prices have increased considerably since 2020. $19.99 to $28.00 for a shirt. This is a consignment shop not new clothing. I will still check them out , but won't be spending that amount unless it is a good quality item ir new. read more

They DO- not accept clothes from black people even with the tags and in excellent condition. So, don't bother going there. They told me I had stains in Dresses however, I was able to sell All 3 items Literally 10 minutes later. not a mention of a stain. And if they do buy they will low ball you. The staff was extremely rude completely ignored my presence until I said something And was very dismissive. Please don't Shop Here Don't shop where you are not wanted. There are very good consignment shops all over the south that will be kind and fair to you. Style encore is not it, we'll at least the one in Moorseville. This was my first time back since Covid began and I was not aware the store had new owners. I was very happy with the way I was greeted upon arrival and was satisfied with the amount I was offered for the items they chose to purchase. For those complaining about the dollar amount they were offered, compared to what the item would ultimately be priced at...how else is the business supposed to make money?! If they give you $20, and resell it for $20, how do they make money to cover rent, utilities, salaries, etc.? You always have the option to decline their offer and try again somewhere else. I was very satisfied with this visit and would not hesitate to return, or to recommend this location to others! read more

My stylist appointment with Cathy was amazing!!! I got the CUTEST outfits that I would never have even thought to try on on my own. Five complete colored/patterned pants, five matching tops and all matching necklaces/accessories, shoes to go with, and a beautiful dress. All six outfits for just over $200. Cathy listened to what I wanted but also helped me to try new things and adjusted the outfits based on what looked best on me (and Haylie was great too!). I can't wait to go back! read more

I hate this place. The new owners are rude starting from the daughter to her father. They're cheap and rip off their customers. I was offered $1.25 for something they were going to sell for $4.00 and then another item, never worn sneakers, they gave me $5.00 and some change and they were going to sell them for $18.00. That daughter is pretentious and thinks she's bad" cause her dad owns a used clothing store. My experience with the father is he him being condescending and arrogant. Had I not been desperate for some cash for a friend, I would never give them my well kept, some BNWT, clothes. I only have them 1 star because I had no choice. read more

I have sold clothes to them as well & the staff is always friendly & helpful. My only regret is not shopping here enough. They have a lot of weekly sales now, including Working Women's Wed where you save an additional 15% off. The resale store for over 20, I never had a problem buying or selling, their prices are fair and have higher quality clothing. Their accessories are the only problem, I can buy a new pair of earrings or necklace at tjmaxx less than they have it for resale. Best buys are higher quality handbags like MK, coach etc..the employees know their stuff. read more

This place is a complete joke of a resell shop. Inventory was lackluster to say the least. Decided to dropped off some clothes to sell with my girlfriend. They were not welcoming, almost seemed like we were a bother. We decided to wait in the store. Wasn't even in there for 20 minutes. There was no way they went through 2 packed bins in such time. After they threw back what they did not want, they offered a supper low payout. After we left we decided to go through and see what was not taken. To our surprise they did not even attempt to go through the bin. It's demoralizing when you take time to steam and fold, to make a presentable bin for them just to disregard your property. After my visit to Style Encore today, I was VERY disappointed. I had been following them on Facebook and was eager to check it out. Upon my arrival, I noticed 3 employees and that there were probably 5 other customers in the store. I walked directly past the associates desk and did not receive a greeting from a single employee. I noticed as the other customers were browsing the store, some of them were greeted during their shopping experience, were asked if they needed help, and if this were their first visit. Needless to say, not so impressed with their service. I remained in store for about 15 minutes and upon my departure, still no type of goodbye, thank you, or anything. They did have a very large selection but nothing I found in my size, 4-6, possessed the "wow" factor. I will not be returning or recommending this place to friends. read more

Excellent prices and selection. I was in this store with my girlfriend the other night at like 830pm. They were being so nice while we were shopping that they didn't let us know the store was closed until we asked. Excellent customer service,explained all of the stores programs and discounts and at no point ever felt rushed when they were closed. We were being completely inconsiderate but it was late and we needed second hand womens business attire. I went there to sell a pair of shoes and told them I would think about the price they offered. I decided to come back and sell the shoes to them. they told me they couldn't buy them from me because they were not the '"style" they take even though the 1st time I came they offered to buy them from me. the lady was very rude about it and just kept saying no because the flats were "too" pointy. Don't come here because you will be disappointed with the service. I definitely was!! If you are planning to sell items I would recommend Uptown Cheapskate. I have been to this store twice and it was 2 times too many. The first time I went in was just to check out the store and see what they had. Was not greeted as I came in the store even though there were 2 empolyees just standing around doing nothing. I found most of the items in this store very over priced for 2nd hand. When I was leaving I asked about the buying policy. The girl was a little snippy and not very friendly. I decided to give them another try and took some items in to try and sell. Went in with my daughter and put the bag of clothing on the counter and was looking at the purses while waiting for the employee who was doing nothing to acknowledge me. Stood there for a good 5 minutes till I said to her that I have some clothing to sell. Her reply was she thought we were just looking at purses, (even though we put our bag of clothes on the counter and it was sitting there all this time). We walked around the store while the "buyer" was looking at our clothes. I find it interesting that they say they don't take teen items but take sizes 0-4 which are mostly teen designs. Looking in the jean isle there was a really stong smell of cigarette smoke.Don't know if it was on the clothes or someone was smoking somewhere and it came thru the vents. After waiting 15 minutes the buyer was done looking at our things and we went up to the counter, once again waiting and not being acknowledged (there were only 2 other customers in the store). The buyer told us that she could take nothing because of wear and style issues. I did not expect her to take everything but the items we brought alot of them were worn maybe twice so wear was not an issue. Really interesting that we took the same items to Uptown Cheapskate and they bought half the items!!! The peope at StyleEncore are rude and customer service is terrible.The prices are high (they had a pair of designer shoes they wanted and alot for and they were well worn on the bottom and on the heel inside).
