Let me start by saying that I was disappointed with the price increase to $40 (deep conditioner is…read moreextra). I typically go to Norcross and pay $25 and I'm natural (no relaxer). The $15 price difference adds up because I get my hair blown out weekly. That said, Greenbriar is a short drive and on weekdays you can get in and out pretty quick. On a Monday night I was in and out in about 90 minutes, which is record time for a wash, detangle, condition, roller set and blow out. This is my second time going to Videa. I was skeptical at first because I saw flat irons and IMO "real" Dominican shops don't use flat irons. But Videa does and excellent blow out without flat irons. The shop is clean and connected to the gas station. There is ample parking either at the gas station or behind the shop. I've only been twice but most of the AA women who get their hair here have long, healthy real hair...which says a lot in Atlanta...weave capital USA...not throwing shade...just saying it's nice to see real, healthy hair... In conclusion, while I would prefer to pay Norcross prices, I'm willing to pay a little extra for the time I save getting my hair done at this location.

I came to the salon on a walk in basis and literally should have walked right out. For anyone who…read morehas natural/coils hair, the priority is not " healthy hair" for you. I requested a service to tighten up my install, with some leave out that needed to be blended with a kinky straight texture. From the beginning, there is no welcome or customer service etiquette. You are shuffled to the shampoo bowl, washed and conditioned, and roughly pushed to get your hair combed out and roller set. As another woman commented, with coily hair you must detangle gently and from the bottom up. That wasn't done for me. Next you are under the dryer an absurdly long time, not checked in with, no offer of water or anything. The blow dry and style has no regard for preserving the integrity of your natural curls, as I have discovered my leave out is basically bone straight now. Not to mention, I heard my stylist mentioned while looking at my hair, "mala" in Spanish meaning, "bad". Sadly, my hair appeared nice, but it is heat damaged, and I was charged entirely too much for poor treatment. I owe it to myself to warn you, especially if you have coily textured hair, this is not the place for you!

After nearly a year of watching this salon from afar and seeing it pop up on TikTok, I finally…read morewalked into Flower Atl Braids and I'm so glad I did. Growing up, I was no stranger to African braiding salons. But as I got older, the tightness and discomfort pushed me toward Black American braiders. Unfortunately, that came with its own trauma: sky-high prices, inconsistent booking, and losing an entire day in someone's chair. I was over it. I knew I needed to return to what I knew--the efficiency and reliability of African braiders. I arrived early on a Monday morning, the first client of the day. I was greeted by one of the braiders and instructed to call the owner, Flower, to confirm my style. I requested medium knotless braids, waist-length, with a custom color mix (1B/30/27). Flower quoted me $250, a fair and honest price considering the style, length, and color. Two braiders worked on me--Sophie and another braider whose name I didn't catch, but it starts with an M based on the sign-in sheet. The shop was clean and everything ran smoothly. My braiders were initially hesitant about the color mix, but once they saw it finished, they loved it and so did I. The braids ended up being a little longer than I anticipated, and the whole process took about 5.5 hours. For the length and quality, I have zero complaints. The braids are neat, the parts are clean, and most importantly, I left without feeling like my scalp was on fire. Tight? A little, but nothing unbearable. Painful? No. I'll definitely be back again. My only issue was with the handling of the braiding hair. At times, the hair would fall to the floor and if it was picked up quickly, I understood. But sometimes it lingered, was stepped on, and still used. I did refuse some hair that had been stepped on, but I don't believe it was thrown out. That's something I'd encourage others to be mindful of. Make sure the hair being installed in your head is being cared for properly. If you're looking for a clean, efficient, no-nonsense braiding experience that gives what it's supposed to give, Flower Atl Braids is your spot.

I was first at the spot at 8am and I was greeted by Sally. She began on my hair maybe 15-20 mins after I walked in Another lady that came in the shop started to assist her maybe 40 mins later. I was there maybe 5 hrs and some change. It may have been sooner that I could've left but they did stop for about 10 mins to snack for a moment (totally understandable) and Sally assisted with some other things for a while. It was not a bad experience at all. They were very nice and professional. Not too much English. The location was easy to find. Inside had multiple work stations. They had music playing also. I love my hair and there is not a hair out of place. Very detailed. It doesn't hurt at all. I did request middle back as I showed her my appointment and the amount when I first arrived but they were a tad bit longer in the end. I do recommend this place. I'll be back.
