That first appointment happened in 2016 and I've been following her since then. Historically, I wouldn't usually go to the same stylist/salon more than twice because I have serious trust issues when it comes to my hair. Samira totally earned my trust and has done wonders with my hair. Every hair session with Samira is always a great experience because we always have fun. It's more like hanging out with a friend than a hair appointment full of forced small talk. I can show her photos of what I want and she has given me what I wanted each time. My hair has gone from a "black brown", to "so black it's blue", to a purple ombre, to a purple magenta from root to tip, to a purple ombre (again), to blue highlights, and now I'm back to jet black again. At each of these appointments, Samira always took the time to explain what she's doing and why she's doing what she's doing. I appreciate Samira's thoroughness, attention to detail, and her wonderful personality. She also does her best to stop you from doing something that you may regret by giving her thoughts on what would work best to achieve the desired result. I highly recommend Samira and if I could give her more stars, I would!

I had just donated about 14 inches of hair to Locks of Love and my hair that was blonde when I was growing up had become dark blonde and just kind of boring. And I hadn't had my hair "done" in over 7 or 8 years. I walked in not really knowing what I wanted and I walked out feeling beautiful. Stacy made me feel comfortable immediately, like the other reviews have said, she's honest and she's a master perfectionist at her craft. It's awesome to see someone who loves what they do so much that they get excited about and tend to the details. She's casual, funny as all get out and talkative - there were no weird moments of uncomfortable silence and you kind of feel like you're hanging out with a long-lost good friend. She took almost 4 hours on my hair, but I never felt like she was in a hurry. It felt like she knows that it takes time to create perfection and allows for that when she books her appointments. I have gotten more compliments on my hair and how natural it looks. What you see is what you get with Stacy - an honest, kind, funny, good-hearted person who wants you to feel awesome because she makes you look awesome. I had transitioned my hair from relaxed to natural for 3 years, but I only wore crochet braids because I could not successfully do my natural hair in a hairstyle that I felt comfortable wearing. After seeing the before and after pictures of the 1st time curl define clients I finally committed to scheduling an appointment. The week of my appointment I began to get nervous and was contemplating changing my appointment from a 1st time curl define appointment to a silk press (because I was more comfortable with doing my hair straight). I contacted the owner Kemi and she called me back and answered my questions (mostly I was concerned that I would not be able to replicate or maintain the style at home). When I was finished with my conversation with the owner, Kemi I was actually excited about my appointment. When I finally had my appointment I was very pleased with the results - thank you Joy! Additionally Kemi and Joy both followed up with me days after my appointment to see if I had any questions or concerns. Thanks to Joy and Kemi I feel comfortable and confident wearing my natural hair in a wash and go and twist out style. I receive so many compliments on my hair and I get asked about the products I use on a regular basis (mostly from women that have been natural far longer than myself). Many salons consider themselves specializing in "natural or curly hair", but very few teach you how to maintain your hair regimen at home. This is what sets Reveal Hair Studio apart from the rest.
