I recently returned for a sandwich for the first time in years, and the new owner has made a complete transformation. Why answer your phone at 17 minutes to close to say you are not taking phone order bc it's closing time? I replied closing time? Associate states yes we have to have 15 minutes to make a sub. Okay it's 17 minutes to closing and I want one sub. For the associate to say to me, we are not taking any more orders with a higher pitched voice, like i couldn't hear. This is an $18 sandwich? I stopped by this restaurant to pick up a sandwich on the way home today. I was tired and in a hurry, I didn't check the sandwich to make sure that I got the extra roast beef that I ordered. I drove home to Cowpens, gave it to my brother, and was asked the old "where's the beef"question. When I told him what I spent on this (mostly) mayonnaise sandwich, he wanted me to drive all the way back to Gaffney to have it fixed. Not happening. Life is too short to go chasing after a business to get them to give me what I paid for. This sandwich had less meat on it than most places put on a regular sandwich when someone had not paid handsomely for more. I understand that businesses are also finding it tough to stay afloat in this awful economy right now. Cheating customers is not the way to make it through. If they were low on roast beef, then saying that there's not enough to sell double meat sandwiches would be the appropriate thing to do. Charging the extra fee and putting what would be called a skimpy amount for a regular sandwich on it just comes across as taking advantage of the customers. read more

Regrettably, this is going to be a two star review! It really pains me a lot to have to give a less than stellar one to a local, hometown business! All the signs are there of a business that been operating for so many years to get lackadaisical in the operation and conduction of daily service. Not very friendly store associates, an unwavering adherence to doing things the same way over and over in an attempt to keep it simple. When it becomes about pleasing the staff or pleasing the customer a choice must be made. I respectfully requested a whole roast beef sub on wheat bread. I was curtly told it's white only. That's ok just be nice about it please! I asked for white American cheese and they didn't say they didn't have any. They just put yellow on it instead. I asked for extra lettuce and tomato. I didn't get it. Apparently there's a certain amount that goes on each sandwich and that's all! It was not intentional for me to cause a problem, I just didn't know the rules! The lady that waited on me seemed relieved to finish my order and believe me I was also relieved to be finished with her. This was a rather bad dining experience and one I won't repeat soon! read more

First time in there & got a large provolone, turkey & roast beef. I got home & found the turkey& cheese sliced so thin I could see through the turkey & cheese. The sandwich basically fell apart when I unwrapped it. I called & no one answered. There were many people behind the counter so someone could have answered the phone. Terrible experience... First walk in to order and lady was clueless..told her my order 3 times...paid and walked to front of counter which not one staff member acknowledged my presence.... Some woman was talking as she sliced the meat and cheese...still didn't acknowledge me as I was clearly engaged in what she was doing....then another member of staff rushing around in area lost and confused trying to assemble one of my orders...long story short...my order was completely messed up and omitted two items...this was so disrespectful of handling of food its a shame....the business was NOT busy....staff needs to take more time with assigned responsibly given to them and handle food with respect...and customers period... This WILL be my last visit to this establishment...and more importantly my salad had probably a tablespoon of meat and cheese and full of liquid in container...threw over half away, uneatable.... It's a southern sandwich shop. Pretty fast sandwiches even when they're busy which is pretty much every day around lunch. OK prices. There really isn't a typical Italian sub. To make it truly Italian you have to add and take away items , that always bugs me when I've eaten there. They have like 30 sandwiches on the menu and not one that is a normal Italian sub. How hard is it? Ham, salami, pepperoni or capicola, provolone cheese, olive oil and vinegar and oregano and then your add ons like lettuce, tomato and onions. It's an extra fee for the sweet bread - which is absolutely delicious but I find the fee high just for a change of bread. If you're looking for a Northern style what I would consider a 'real' sub this is not your place. If you like Subway and want a change of pace then give this place a try. read more

Well let me tell y'all me and my family's experience here this past weekend. My wife, niece and I went here to have a late lunch after the game and it was a mess. A family ahead of us was trying to order, and the workers were really rude to them! Made me almost say something, but luckily the female customer told the worker to have manners and the worker storm off to the back somewhere. The replacement worker was real snappy to the lady after that, so that family got their food and sat down. One of the teenage type of workers was talking to another young coworker and called that female customer all sorts of rude remarks while behind the counter making sandwiches, and giggled about it, right in front of us! Every customer In there looked awkward like they didn't know what was happening. I don't appreciate this so my family and I just walked out! I did notice a few other things while waiting forever in line. I didn't know you could have a business run with all the workers on their cell phones, even laying out in broad daylight beside them as they made food. Who is the owner, because they hired the laziest, rudest with no work ethic. This place used to have nice workers and now they all act like you're bothering them when you come in. Never again will me an my family go here, and you can bet I'm telling everyone about this, and to have someone come in to observe this. read more

I love the Chef Salad all fresh and delicious just like everything they serve . Great staff friendly and quick you won't be dissapointed.

Always cold and fresh but there is not that many toppings to choose from and their onions need to be shaved slices that are see through thin instead of slices. Also, one feels rushed when trying to tell them what you would like to have on your sandwich. They look at you with a look that clearly tells you what they are thinking. Then you watch them go back to their table to eat and it was clear that you are being rushed so that they can all eat together. Should all be eating in shifts so that the customer doesn't feel as if their business is not wanted. Overheard the staff talking and loudly gossiping about other workers and mutual friends without regard to customers. That should no be happening at all. Also, the hours of operation says 11am to 8pm. We came by on Friday night at 7:15pm and they were closed with the security doors down. This is not the first time we found this same situation. read more
