My daughter accompanied me today as I made my rounds around town. Those all too familiar hunger pains attacked us around 12:00 pm today.We verbally discussed where we could get a great lunch! My daughter looked up and saw a food place that we've both meant to try. There it was : Boston Annie's! She looked at me and I looked a her and the decision was made! And across the railroad tracks we went! ( Boston Annie's is located beside the railroad tracks near downtown Gaffney S.C. ).We we're greeted at the door by a very sweet lady who was also the owner. She was very personable and had a very distinct Boston accent that was enjoyable! We informed her that this was our first visit! She kindly brought us some free samples of New England clam chowder, goulash , and broccoli-cheese soup! All three were made from scratch and made daily! They were 5 star items all day long. ! For my lunch I had a large roast beef sub on white. My daughter had a turkey wrap. Both were absolutely delicious! The ambiance of this place is definitely Bostonian! It's both welcoming and relaxing! Our food was 5 star quality and the charming lady who owns this place is much better than that! We promised her that we would return soon! And I can hardly wait! As a visitor of Gaffney I am so glad we found this place. Just off the main downtown so you have to know where it is. The hot Italian, with everything, is superb. Clam chowder is also the bomb. Two thumbs up on the quality of food. We will keep coming back for sure. read more

This place is awesome! It is exactly the type of place we look for in every town we visit. It's locally owned and everything is made from scratch by a staff that actually cares about the customer and doesn't treat you like you are an inconvenience by walking thru the door. The food is absolutely fresh and delicious, I had the roast beef sub and she crab soup and she had the broccoli salad (extra yummy) and a croissant sandwich with ham, Swiss and thousand island that was recommended by one of the staff members, we then shared a strawberry shortcake which was very good as well. Only a few miles off the highway and is worth the trip..Especially if you are looking for something better than Chick-fil-A or McDonalds! I'll start by saying I'm originally from Massachusetts, so I was excited to hear they serve New England Clam chowder. The clam chowder was too thick and lacked basic seasoning. It also appeared to have tiny pieces of carrot throughout. I also ordered their Tuna grinder, which was extremely dry and had a sweet taste to it. With the large cup of soup, regular size sub and a bottle of water the bill was $17+ dollars, not including tip. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. read more

My daughter who goes to Limestone said I had to go here, and she was right. She swears by their Italian Sandwich, but I opted for the clam chowder and it was spot on. I really want to love this place. I really do. They have broccoli soup all the time which is my favorite and it's closer than driving all the way to Panera. It's affordable too. Boston Annie's has great subs, soups, a fresh salad/cold bar, and the best desserts you have ever put in your mouth. During the summer months I would help my brother at his business which is located very close to this restaurant. Because the food is so wonderful and fresh, we would often call, place an order, and one of us at the business would walk around the corner to pick it up. The last time I ordered I had a chicken salad melt from them for a quick lunch. It definitely didn't disappoint. The different tastes from the homemade chicken salad, to the melted cheeses, to the artisan bread - it was a great choice. I happened to see on Facebook while looking at their menu that the dessert of the day was a Pineapple Sunshine cake. I ordered a slice to try. Talk about AMAZING! To date, this is probably still one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. It was wonderfully moist and tasted like sweet, light, summertime with chunks of pineapple mixed throughout. It was topped with plenty of homemade whipped cream. Two bites in I had to stop, put down my fork, and immediately call the owner back to figure out how in the world she had made such an amazing cake. She took my compliment - and my order for an entire cake for my birthday party the next week, and needless to say it was a hit! What a find! Have lived in SC for almost 8 years and this is by far the best sandwich shop. It's a mom and pop joint which in and of itself is rare here.
