Rustic interior with wooden benches and tables, across several seating areas and an outside patio. We were greeted walking in and seated in the same moments, our server was kind and attentive. We started with an appetizer, their Jalapeno Cheddar Hush Puppies. A nice serving of golden brown pups and a dipping sauce. Great flavor and just a hint of spicy heat. A good start. After giving the menu a good read, I opted for the Calabash Shrimp and Flounder. Its another solid choice if you're there for the seafood. A nice meal with golden fried shrimp, a couple flounder filets with hush puppies, slaw and potato salad, cocktail and tartar sauce. This is good comfort food cooking and it works. The burger itself was thin, greasy, and reminiscent of something you'd find in a kids' meal. That said, the restaurant was clean, both the dining area and the restroom, and service was impressively fast. There's also a bar tucked away near the back by the restrooms. All in all, I was expecting something more memorable, especially given the celebrity endorsement. While the menu does offer many inexpensive options, the experience didn't live up to the hype for me. Harold's isn't a place I'll make a point to revisit.

Never able to get the Clam Chowder. Seven out of nine visits, always sold out. Before and even after lunch. Owner knows this is her best seller and promises to make more to accommodate all other customers and not just the corporate customers that keep buying her out before anyone else gets to enjoy it. But. Every time I go, she is out. Employees push you to try her other items in its place. Most are not that good. I should know, I end up with her other items because she is always out if clam chowder. Her egg salad is in big chunks of white egg and is bland. She could use a lesson from Duke's Sandwich Shop in Greenville. Her goulash is also bland and dry. Barely any meat in it too. She should use a southern lady recipe for this. Well for starters the staff of the place are very friendly people who you will have no problem getting along with the sub sandwiches and the clam chowder are the best you're going to get in South Carolina but if I had to complain I would say it takes a good while for you to get your food but the wait is worth it read more
